[X] Hide in the shadows, and then speak to the proprietor, after El Patrio's forces depart.
[X] "I am Justice, the man who refuses to let injustice stand unopposed."
[X] Promise to meet them, tomorrow night, at dusk.
Second Night, Part 3
The proprietor of the Ocean's Rage is tightlipped about exactly what he sold to El Patrio's men, but you become clear- without him ever admitting to such- that he runs a brisk trade in Unholy goods, however he acquires them. You consider pushing the point- perhaps revealing your Unholy powers- but ultimately decide that, for the moment, you should leave.
a question of nature
"What manner of man is beneath the mask? What devil or holy man calls himself our fair cities protector?"
You consider for a moment, but ultimately you consider there to be only one answer.
"I am Justice, the man who refuses to let injustice stand unopposed." you respond, confidently.
The man eyes you for a few seconds, then says "That's the mask, not the man. But very well, perhaps you are nothing beneath that mask. What, then, is injustice, in the eyes of a man who calls himself Justice?", not dismissively, not mocking, just a simple statement of fact, and a simple question.
You respond, puzzled, to a degree, by saying "Whenever the proper authorities stand idly by, as a villain gets away, because he's too much trouble, or step in and crush an innocent, because the powerful ask, or any number of countless other times, where things go against what any good man would see as right because it is the way of things, that is injustice, of course. I've fought against such for years, if you know of me, surely you know when I act?"
The man scoffs and says "You're a figure of the back alleys, boy, a swordsman wreathed in myth and tall tales. If I trusted everything I heard about you, you'd have died in at least ten different places and eaten the heart of an angel in a pub, besides. You can't trust the stories, sometimes even if the witnesses were reliable. " Here he pauses, and says "But an old man's lectures are probably not what you came to me to hear. I assume you have a question you want answered, or an item you wish to acquire?"
You set aside the question of why he's asking these questions, for the moment, instead turning to your original goal. "They say you hired a certain Captain White recently- tell me, what do you know of the man? They also say he possesses inhuman abilities, and I have had reason to wonder recently..."
Here the man scrutinizes you. "Tell me, Justice, does your stance on injustices apply only to humans, or does it apply to those whom are Vampires through no fault of their own? And don't tell me you don't know that can't happen, you must have heard of Trueborns, even aside the rumors that say Vampires sometimes turn with a bite."
You stand, puzzled. Of course, the truth is, given your own condition, you can't say it doesn't, to some degree.
Then the man releases a bark of laughter. "Ha, nevermind. I don't need to see your eyes to know, the way you stand, that you wouldn't condemn a man just for being a Vampire. I don't suppose it matters why." Here he looks lost in thought, before continuing with "You couldn't tell anyone and have them believe you either, I don't doubt. Yes, the man's a Vampire- and no, I won't tell you how I learned that. His business, long as he doesn't munch on anyone in our fair city. He's delivering something very precious to me to the only people I can trust with it, and he's about the only captain I have ever heard of I can trust might be able and willing to deliver it. Did you have any other business with me, or can an old merchant get back to his work, boy?"
You answer...
[] Yes.
-[] Write-in any and all topics to broach.
[] No, Justice has taken enough of your time, thank you for the answers.
The Blades of Freedom are pleased by your response, and return to their business.
Dawn breaks, you once more sequestered in your safehouse. You consider the work of the day...
(plan for day time, same as last time applies. 12hours yadda. EDIT PLAN FORMAT FOR DAY HOURS)
Train Stats: it is more difficult to train stats Ranald has no practice training without a mentor. Exception: Unholy is primarily based on how hot Ranalds emotions currently run. (OOC Time: So, you basically all guessed right on a good answer with decent logics- except while it was a good answer, limited info had you misjudge the man's starting point. Which rather amused me.
I have adjusted the character sheet with a not very precise 21 blood used for all the events of the night, as well as including the Holy Water previously acquired. Unless stated otherwise in votes, I'm assuming you are keeping it on you.)
