Fallen Empires -- An Old Republic Era adventure (Star Wars)

OH MY GOODNESS

Light Side Sith Inquisitor is best Sith you don't even know

Sure, having the ability to use [Shock Him] liberally in conversation is fun and all, but Imperius' ability to just absolutely fucking destroy the minds of the idiots around them with snark and a disturbingly strong streak of common sense is magical

[x] Try for a non-lethal takedown — this will make noise

We just told Brenby that we don't regret not killing people. Granted, there's a big difference between "someone who seems to be helpless" and "a live combat situation", but between that and Skylah feeling kinda down about her first kill earlier, this just seems to flow most sensibly.

And is likely to confuse him further. We can provide headpats to incentivize him accepting this type of Skylah behavior.

Yeah, I was pretty sure. Hello, old buddy. Looking worse for the wear, huh?

"Imperius" is the title of the light path, so he's only mildly insane and moderately amoral. Could even be reasoned with?

Lol, won't hold my breath.

Darth Imperius is basically someone who buys into all the trappings of the Sith but basically just is this massive emancipator who frees slaves, brokers peace, and generally gets more shit done than anyone else in the Empire save Darth Marr, to the point that during the stretch where they get a seat on the Dark Council right up until the first showing of the Eternal Fleet, the two of them basically run the Empire and are spearheading a lot of it's moderate reforms.

But because their outward persona is that of an unstable lunatic for all that their actions are consistently backed with an iron core of common sense, nobody dares fuck with them.

It's debatably a defense mechanism inherited from their time as a slave that they refined and carried into their career as a Sith "If you look like you're going to fuck someone up at the slightest provocation, the ones who pick fights with you probably deserve it, and otherwise you can avoid a great deal of unneeded conflict"

You don't get Darth Imperius at any rate by spamming [Shock Him] at every opportunity though, the very fact they had that title is significant.

Okay, Skylah's mom. Where on the scale is Imperius, if one is Lana Beniko and nine is Palpatine?
Imperius is her wife's favourite historical figure, so probably not that high, as dead Dark Council members go?

"Then, she averted the genocide of a species by pointing out that its members could be trained as Sith."

"That's... Not the worst. We'll work on it."

Ah, so Imperius is a she. Makes sense. ( it's your player character, after all :V )

If they're Imperius, they're somewhere between a 1 and a 3 on that scale, depending on how much they believe their own bullshit.

Even the whole "Genocide of a species by pointing out "Hey we can get more Sith" " thing is pretty much "Knowing my audience, I know they won't spare them for petty morality, so instead I'm going to appeal to their self interest" thing.

Darth Imperius is either a lunatic who somehow manages to be one of the best actual leaders in the Empire from sheer dumb luck, or they're a decent person who's cosplaying as an archetypical Sith Lord convincingly enough that nobody knows it's actually bullshit. It's part of what makes them amazing.

Sidenote: This is probably the only time I've ever made Alectai happy with a quest post.

A chain they must be broken, along with all the others, to true freedom in the Force.
"that"

There's the sense of a dark, private joke somewhere in that statement, and the mere fact that this Sith thing can derive any sort of humour from this situation sickens you.
Somehow a sense of humor is almost always the first thing to go with the Jedi training. What is it about the tenets of the Light Side that forbids one to make light of things?

Almost voted for killing him, but in the end I couldn't bring myself to do it. While I'm not against killing them, per-say; if we're trying for 'light-grey', it's probably better that we avoid needless killing. Admittedly, it's the more dangerous option (and could totally blow up in our face), but sometimes there are no good options.

Just stumbled onto this quest, BTW. The SWTOR content caught my attention, the adorkable protagonist hooked me.

[X] Kill the guard quickly and quietly — you can do what's necessary

In this case it's the lesser of two evils. Getting detected will mean that they will likely have to kill even more of the guards than they would otherwise.
