Apprentice Plane Wizard
As you go about your daily life, everything seems to stop, turn grey, and then shatter.
A female figure with flowing white dress and pitch black skin stands before you, backed by a large, round window. Earth hangs in the center of the window, lights glittering on the night side of the planet.
"I am sorry about the abruptness, but there is not much time. Your world is going to die. I can't stop it. But I can help make sure that your species doesn't die. I can give you ships, crews, and a head start. I cannot do more, not without alerting those who would cause even more harm.
"Do you accept?"
Rules
0. This game takes place on SV. Obey the rules of SV
1. This is not First Come First Serve. I only have enough time to outfit six of you total.
2. All FTL Drives And Communications will be replaced with one set of standardized models. The model of drive you're getting is the Overthruster, able to carry your ships at speeds of up to 230c. (This is enough to reach Alpha Centauri in a week, and no, you can't ram somebody at FTL speeds) Your comms are now using Hyperwave Radio, which has a range of ten light years without repeater stations.
3. General tech limit is around Star Wars and 40k (and not Necron 40k mind you. Also, no Asgard tech.).
4. Nothing capable of Planet killing. If you take a ship with one of those, you get a free modification including removal of such a system. This doesn't mean you can't pull a Base Delta Zero, just that you don't have any "Remove planet" buttons.
5. No Time Travel/Dimensional abuse. You travel forward at one second per second, and your ships are not bigger on the inside. Yes, this means that Honorverse ships are not 200% missiles by volume.
6. Ship Databases will carry only what is applicable to the repairs of the ship, mission profile, and replacing its supplies/equipment; No history, no culture, no special plans like death stars or other ship classes, etc; with the notable exception of dedicated factory/shipyard vessels.
7. These should be Established Ship classes; Homebrew factions, universes and homebrew additions to established universes may be allowed only on case by case basis. Wiki links are helpful.
8. Cloning and Teleportation systems might not work exactly as they do in their original universes to avoid abuse and philosophical discussions; throw any expectations of these making things easy right out the airlock now
9. Ships will have their most boring and standard complement of crew, marines, ground forces, support personnel, and parasite craft.
10. This game will be running concurrently with Exodus BLACK. There may be PvP between Team WHITE and Team BLACK if you choose to have your misadventures take place in the same galaxy.
Notes and Considerations
1. Manufacturing: Because certain methods of making shit can be hilariously munchkined, like ST Replicators, they are getting slowed down. They require a supply Raw Resources(trivial to obtain, and do note that you aren't getting energy to matter converters either), blueprints, and time. How much time typically depends on the complexity of the item and what's making it, but to give you a baseline, a personal replicator will produce something trivial like simple clothing or a plate of food from scratch in about an hour, while something a little more complex like your average gunpowder handgun will take about 2 hours to fabricate, etc. Larger industrial Replicators or PDA's can make simple bulk items much quicker, or build larger parts. For ship production, it's again slower; it'll take about half a day for a HW mothership to get a new fighter off the line.
2. Augmentations: You and your crew have the minimum required augmentations to operate your ship. I don't have the time to grant you more.
3. Magic and other wooj: Yeah, no. Bad things come of trying to twist reality
4. Crews: This is something of a rush job, so your crews will be flash-grown clones with plenty of genetic diversity. We don't have time to train tens of thousands of people the regular way. They will also be entirely human.
5. The Matrioshka ship rule: If your ship carries ships that also carry ships (AKA Battletech), those ships also have their standard loadout. If your ship is a freighter, you may choose to have it loaded with spare parts, consumables, or trade goods at no extra cost.
Building your fleet
Firepower and general power levels are being nerfed and boosted depending on how advanced they are to allow for a larger range of choice. Tech levels are being divided into 3 levels: A, B, & C.
A Tech: Generally are lower tier science fiction settings with ships with no form of energy shields and lower yield weapons.BattleTech, most Gundams, nBSG Colonials, Aliens USCM, etc. Your Spacy firepower and durability is respectable but its main advantages are in versatility, rugged reliability, and easy maintenance along with some variations..
B Tech: on the other hand are science fiction settings with higher weapon yields and the presence of energy shields. Halo UNSC, Homeworld, B5, Mass Effect, Pre-Asgard upgraded Tauri, TOS-era Trek, etc. Your Spacy Firepower and Durability is pretty much Middle of the Road in all respects, with nothing too fancy or too sophisticated but you do have some nice toys.
C Tech: is for when you want to have the biggest guns in space and make sure everyone is aware of it. They are your Goa'uld, 40k, SW, TNG/DS9 trek, Andromeda. These ships are among the most advanced spacecraft in the galaxy, and come with the price tag to prove it. While you're the one of meanest things in space, you're also the hardest to maintain and repair.
You have 3000 points to spend on your fleet
A Tech ships cost 1 point per 20 meters or fraction thereof of length along the primary axis
B Tech ships cost 1 point per 10 meters or fraction thereof of length along the primary axis
C Tech ships cost 1 point per 5 meters or fraction thereof of length along the primary axis
Upgrading what a ship carries costs points.equal to 10% of the ship's initial costs, per upgrade. Upgrades must be from a ship's home universe. If you want your Star Destroyer to have Tie Defenders, MT-ATs, and people running around in Phase II Dark Trooper Armor, that's an additional 30%.
In addition to the above, you will be provided with unarmed transports sufficient to carry three million people, but they don't have many shuttles. The transports have enough supplies for three months, six months on harsh rationing, or a year on starvation rationing.
Unlike usual for these games, there is no surcharge for a mining/manufacturing vessel. Do keep in mind though, that every ton of mining equipment, every cubic meter of the factory line, is space not spent on armor or weapons.
