Wyld creatures, gods, and demons all in the same place. I'm very happy that we chose to infiltrate this place.

A dude fed his previous lover to a magic shark while propositioning her, trying to find sane people seems like an undertaking that would require an ancient temple here.

The best liars are honest; omitting details while selling a false image, letting the other fill in the gaps spun by purposeful implications. Regular chapters for a while, we really are living in thegreatest timeline. Thanks for the update!

Hmm. Aleph makes a worthy point vis a vis putting ourselves in the position of being the one seeking help is liable to drive up the price - but at the same time, others have pointed out that guardian spirits are liable to be at least reasonably savvy about spotting lies, so total fabrication may well be unwise. The best lies are woven with truth.

Also can I just point out, this?
And that's more than enough to snap you out of whatever hypnotic trick it's caught you in. What you want not-mattering? Nonsense!
This was a lovely line for me. The notion of Rena shaking off hypnotic power through sheer force of selfishness is delightful.

We seek the desperate, and this guy sounds like that, what with the demons. We can help him clear them out, and maybe introduce some of our mortals to him, begin the worship...And join in. Do we not have panopoly of the Divine ourselves? Wouldn't Rena be amazing with an actual cult following granting her power?

You really do feel bad about getting off on a wrong footing with this divine being. You really hope it won't ruin your "Who do I have the honour of address?"
Broken sentence?

Hm, I know it is a gamble but I think it might be a bit bold to opening up about Rena's intentions right out of the gate.

Lying is dangerous but it's in character.

The creature is much taller than you, and broader, too, looking like nothing more than the foam from a boiling pot. Embedded in the foam are circular orbs like blown glass and filled with oily liquid. Now you have light. The liquid in the orbs glows with a pulsing, shifting, light that slowly climbs up the rainbow and back down again.
Something big drops down out of the sky in front of you. It looks a little bit like a bat, except bats don't have six wing-limbs, and neither do their mouths have quite so many needle teeth. It shouts something at you, but for quite obvious reasons you don't understand it because of said teeth getting in the way.

Ok, I was going to guess what type of Demons we ran into (my initial hypothesis for the first was a Metody), but it's fairly clear that ES is gleefully dipping into homebrew, and unfortunately, the only Demon Homebrew for ES that I know of is the Green Cherry Demonomicon. Which, after failing to find the bat-thing, I stopped looking through for the Sorta-Shoggoth. Does anyone know if these are ES own homebrew, or someone else's, and where I could find them? I'm curious!

What you want not-mattering? Nonsense!

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. It's little details like these that differentiate us from mere 'heroic' heroes. ...ninja'd by Imrix. Sadness.

...as for what to tell the deity who has apparently been the warden for a Second Circle Demon - because if there's a TCD in there, then I'm not certain he could 'trick' it; they have way to many dice to throw at analytics, and while ES isn't using dice, it's clear where TCD capabilities are... and twenty-ish non-excellency dice indicates that no, this non-E5+ god is NOT tricking him, ever - what would allow for the greatest possibility of cooperation? If we could find out more about the Demon, and possibly banish it (assuming that banishing it is something the god would allow), we'd have a fairly powerful, if chained and politically cut off, ally who suddenly found his workload/risks decreased.

Maybe a Fenyzik and Hullazkovac?

It might just be a powerful First Circle Demon Citizen, one of those that's gained some Essence/enlightenment beyond his species. Partially because we seem to be doing mostly low-powered stuff and a second circle demon would be a very significant escalation.

Someone should tell the truth around here!

Someone should tell the truth around here!

Its much harder to be a successful liar if you gain a reputation as being a liar. Rena should know the truly skillful liar should tell the truth as much as possibe, the better to tangle up your adversaries in telling the difference :3

Or at least tell the truth as seen through sharply curved rose-tinted lenses placed underwater. Are they gonna say they don't believe their own lying eyes?

You can't hiiiiiiiiiiiiide... your lyin' eyes... something something smiiiiiiile... don't remember the rest. Something about a while?
