Look I know you might disagree with the autopsy, but if you want to know how to build a clockwork spider you need to know how it moves, it's weakpoints and if you can make a profit off harvesting parts of it.

After all if Spider Silk is worth a lot and if we can figure out a way to tame giant spiders... well let's say we can have a mobile piggy bank that allows us to build more automontons and removes the 'evidence' in a manner that is perfectly natural.

Not to mention we might as well get Igorina a 'useful' pet animal that she can ride around on.

Let's keep this simple. More we talk the more chance there is that something will implode.
Diplomacy-guy would more than pay for himself in better prices from our wares.

Furthermore, I suddenly want that spinneret and the sacks! Ours!
 
We can just go out into the woods and kill more spiders later, but this opportunity to make some money might be a one-time thing. Besides, we plan on autopsying the corpse, so we will get what we want right now out of it.

Selling the carcass means we can't finish our autopsy, which would likely render the corpse unusuable. There are more spiders out there, but getting this one was from a high roll. We don't casually expect to get more.

Since that's a necromancer who wants a giant spider corpse, we can't sell it once we pried it open to check out the joints and analyzed the venom sacs, or eyes.

Guys, it doesn't say anything about having to give the corpse away before we are finished with it, and as it says here, as long as the necromancer gets the remains and the elf gets the spinneret and venom sacs, they don't really care what we do with it.

They both say they don't care, they just need it when you're done.
 
Thrice in the update we complained about adventurers being hired by townfolk to hunt us, mostly due to misunderstandings. Then the woman tells us that we are the talk of town and everyone knows we have a spider carcass and then both of them want to buy it...

I am all for selling the thing when we are done (we need the money!) and the roll was a success so I am probably a little paranoid.

Gold is our bottleneck, this allays it. All three of us want something different from the corpse, and thus all can have it. We dissect it, sell the venom sacs and spinneret to the bottle mage, and the rest of the cadaver to the warrior lady. (who, by the way, looks exceedingly similar to the fighter lady from Heroes of Lesser Earth.)

If we can get a semi-regular buyer for spider corpses, then we have a good way of temporarily boosting our income. Especially once we get some clockworks to help us take them down.

Just a note, everything with an asterisk before it is optional. And yes, I know I'm technically picking three options, but if I don't then I'm afraid of us (both us the character and us the players) getting distracted by shinies.
