I have no idea what's going on here.
The S rank ninja who was most likely to be Naruto's heir but went missing nin after the villages dealt with the Open House (since he thinks chakra should be for everyone) and who know thinks that for him to achieve that he must be so strong that nobody would stop him just demolished our enemies, who were probably lied to about the treasure so that they try to get in the chamber he was in. The reason for that was to send a message to Hikaru that they know where he is. He also seems to know and be in good terms with Emiko, another missing nin aiming for S rank who has contacts with former Open House members and he thought we were here because she knew he was here but realised it was too slopy an execution to be intentional.
Being fair, neither does Shizue, besides a few obvious things.
(But that's why the vote is *literally* questions. Because Shizue doesn't know, and you're going to help her and yourself know.)
Even though we know this guy OOC, I'm still not sure it's the best to have readers as confused as our character. Like, of course weird stuff was happening, but I'd be less surprised at one of the enemy ninja growing an extra head then what just happened. The way the scene itself is written is very disorienting.
[] Uzumaki? As in… really?
Gives IC info on who this is.
[] What are those crates?
Could be mundane supplies, or ninja storage, or valubles?
[] Who is sending the message? The one that involved tomb robbers
Uh, pretty sure Shizue can guess. Emiko's S rank "guests" were following this guy.
[] You know Emiko?!
Tell me everything you know about Emiko-sensei!
[] What do you mean, sorry for the traps?
Yeah, you jerk, if you had those fancy eyes, why did you almost kill us only to rescue us right when you meet us in person? (Wait, maybe ask this instead?)
[] What is with this room? What did it do?
How many layers of genjutsu are we on right now?
[] Is this place real, or is this some sort of… modern creation?
My guess is it's a repurposed ancient construct, but what it's used for we don't know.
[] Do you know about the excavation?
He better know about the excavation. Better question is why it's being allowed to happen.
[X] If you were watching us all this time with the Byakugan, why did you let all this happen?
Maybe that's a good-enough question? Not sure if I want to try another write-in question or not.
I'm now wondering if Hikaru will pull out his inner Tobi and will go from unimportant side-character to the evil mastermind in a matter of several episodes. Would be pretty cool if he did so.

He set up a lot of the traps in the way here (which makes sense since they use chakra and iirc this was supposedly a pre sage site) and is offering to scort us out since he will probably leave anyways. We don't know why he was here but it required a lot of preparation.
Also, for some reason Ken wants our group alive. Shizue was prominent in the information he gave but that is probably from us being in every mission our operations crossed.
The room also had a seal of Kage level that caused a genjutsu to unerve people. That was the music we heard.
The protagonist has to meet a major figure like that, don't you think?I guess what's confusing me is why a person would be hanging out inside an ancient ruin. Of all the places you could go, why there?
Perhaps the giant underground base was already occupied? With all those crates it looks like he was setting a base of operations though that is probably moot with a teaam of archeologists going to town in the ruins now.I guess what's confusing me is why a person would be hanging out inside an ancient ruin.
