For the record, I voted for the Empress Regent not because it would be "in character" but because I thought the influence she commanded in the lead-up to the election would be helpful in shoring up our reign (and also, secondarily, because I felt kind of bad about throwing her out onto the street with nothing but the clothes on her back).
