So, we are totally changing where we are going? Because I was looking forward to getting apprenticed under the crazy Sith.
Also, I don't think it is "needlessly railroading" to restrict us to bring a Sith when that was the premise of the quest. I am pretty sure everyone who joined during char gen was doing so on the basis that we would be a Sith. I would prefer it if we were going to be a Sith, because that is what I joined the quest for.
Sorry, I didn't word it correctly, but, rest assured, infiltrating the Sith is still going to be the main purpose of this quest, but I'm not just going to arbitrarily drop you into the Academy with a pre-selected Master like the last quest. In this one, you will plan how you want to get in, such as pretending to be a slave or getting a Sith Lord to sponsor you, which will in turn determine who you get to apprentice under. Some Sith don't want to train slaves, for instance, and some Overseers will be better positioned to get you your desired apprenticeship better than others. There is a remote path toward infiltrating the Republic, but its not a high priority since the Jedi aren't that politically or militarily significant.
Now, to clarify your mission a bit, you were given a pretty board order to monitor the Core Worlds and prepare it for the Eternal Empire's invasion. That means gathering intelligence, establishing strongholds, building alliances and weakening the two galactic powers. You will start out with one ship, but, as you build up the Eternal Empire's presence in the Core Worlds, more ships and troops will join you.
The first stage of your mission will be to establish a foothold in the known galaxy above the resource-rich and uninhabited system of Endor.
While your main force builds this thing, you will have to go around and gathering intelligence while sending back orders on how you want to construct your Star Fortress. For example,do you want to get the gravity-well generator up first to catch any ships that stumble onto you or do you want to rush out a long-range sensor to monitor the entire sector? How about additional factories to build stuff or a fuel refinery to support additional ships from the Eternal Empire?
Anyway, the update is coming along fine and will be up this weekend. In the meantime, I'm going to be introducing the Player Characters in waves, starting with the Smuggler and the Bounty Hunter. I thought about just selecting their gender/species myself, but then I realized that it doesn't really change anything, so why not let you guys vote on it?
If you haven't played SWTOR, this probably doesn't make a lot of sense to you, so just think of it as creating important NPCs for this quest instead.
The format for the votes should be:
[ ] Name
[ ] Gender Species Smuggler
[ ] Name
[ ] Gender Species Bounty Hunter
Available Species: Human, Zabrak, Twi'lek, Cathar, Togruta, Rattataki, Mirialan
Restricted Species: Sith Pureblood, Chiss, Cyborg, Miraluka
So, an example would be:
[X] Jack
[X] Male Human Smuggler
[X] Jill
[X] Female Human Bounty Hunter
But won't suddenly getting none-Sith reinforcements be suspicious for the Sith, thus undermining our intended purpose? It's actually just giving you earlier access to what would have later been your Sith power-base. It's a pretty simple 'management' mini-game, if you want to call it that, since it doesn't really have any actual costs and resources and stuff like that. It's just a bigger version of customizing your own ship or base or whatever to offer you more support in the field.

Ah. I was just worried because our first, and (I am hoping) next master choice was a member of the Sith intelligence.Depends, communications in Star Wars seems to actually be pretty unreliable. I mean, the Eternal Empire was able to raze a whole bunch of worlds and siege Korriban for like a month or something silly without the wider galaxy even knowing what was going on.
If an Eternal Fleet squadron ambushed an enemy fleet and destroyed everything, nobody would even know. Besides, you can have always have your guys pretend to be just mercenaries or normal troops if you need to.

I don't know how the other voters feel, but I am perfectly fine ditching our EE assets in order to get into Imperial Intelligence.Which is part of the reason why I had you guys choose your master later. Sure, getting into the Sphere of Imperial Intelligence will be a big victory, but you have to weight that potential reward against the increased risk of discovery.
Personally wouldn't mind giving up our equipment to lower the risk of be discovered while infiltrating the Imperial Intelligence.I don't know how the other voters feel, but I am perfectly fine ditching our EE assets in order to get into Imperial Intelligence.
