Dark Knight of Camelot

You are more likely to fail than succeed in this scenario, but success is still very much possible (especially if you end up rolling a lot of threat symbols, which have negative consequences but don't result in you failing the check).

See that still seems like a failure to me. You succeeded but bad stuff will happen doesn't sound good at all. Bad things will happen more than good.

Like is our character the only one rolling? Just seems like it might create fear of doing anything with rolls if bad things are more likely to happen. Only reason I'm picking to go after this lady is to see how these rolls work.

Threats exist to be dealt with. Running into a threat can not be considered good, but what would a quest be if there were none?

I am curious about the system, but don't feel like chasing political agitators through the streets on our first day off.

Threats aren't really my concern. It's the fact we are more likely to fail or just suck from the rolls. Basically no matter what we do something bad will happen or just not work if we ever decide to do anything. That just seems like people might be afraid of actually doing anything.

As you level up, you'll get more positive dice to work with, and less difficult tasks will present you with fewer negative dice. This particular situation does not lend itself to straight up success, because it's a difficult task and you just started your training, but this won't be true for every roll you make. In those cases, it's possible to not only succeed but also wind up with advantages that give you extra rewards.

More importantly though, something "bad" happening isn't bad. This isn't a game you're trying to win with the most points, it's a story we're telling together. I'm interested in the Genesys system because it allows for failing forward, and for succeeding into new problems. The possibility for threats to impact your successes isn't a bug that punishes you, it's a feature designed to give interesting twists to your actions.

Well, I guess we know what happened to Artura. Asleep in Avalon, huh?

[X] Pursue the woman (ROLL: 2 Proficiency dice; 3 Difficulty dice)

I'd like to hear more of what she has to say.

Not really that interested in the woman, but I am interested in seeing Mac's motivation to chase her and to see the system in action.
