This is exactly what it says on the tin, and this is just a theory, but here goes?
*ahem*
What if the events of Wolfenstein: The New Order and 2016's DOOM actually take place in the same universe?
Now hear me out: While the New Order takes place in a rather crappy (by living standards for everyone) 1960s era, it's pretty obvious that Deathshead's vision will crumble within a few decades. With this in mind, the Resistance wins the Earth back from the SS and allows the world to usher in a new era of peace and technological innovation thanks to the leftover Nazi-Da'at-Yichud tech.
Fast-forward a couple of centuries and the UAC (our friends the Union Aerospace Corporation) has managed to land a HUGE contract on Mars, and eventually discover Argent Energy to use in lieu of our supposedly depleted natural resources, unknowingly corrupting themselves via Hell and helping the Lord of the Fourth Age bring about the conquest of the Sol System.
Which brings me to my second half of my theory: What if BJ, after having his final confrontation with Deathshead at the end of New Order, is chosen by the Seraphim to be reborn as the DOOM Slayer, leader of the Night Sentinels who has been on an eternal crusade against the Legions since the Betrayal of the Order, as described in the UAC Logs and Slayer's Testament? What if he got trapped only to be reawakened on Mars (in whatever century D4 takes place in) when Samuel Hayden realises that things are that fucking bad (no thanks to Olivia), and he has to save the world from an evil that is far worse than the Nazi Regime?
I know that in order for this to work, a lot of blanks have to be filled, but I really would like to know what you guys think of this theory. This whole thing may be inspired by the RPGs of both respective game series being linked, so I thought maybe the same could apply to the more recent games.
