Civ Quest Legends

Make a thriving Civilization, but more importantly to make an interesting story/history. That's why I'm planning on a game mechanic that will let you switch Civilizations when the time is right.
is there a set point for the right time to switch like say when our civilization becomes basically self sufficient and is prosperous or will it be kind of random.

I do apologize for the 20 questions just want to know what i should be ready for.
 
It will be upon enough player demand and/or when I feel I've hit a brick wall in terms of making the game interesting. And I actually encourage questions and input because it allows me to refine my system.
 
well looks like were starting in the amazon. so do we get to pick a civilization or will it be one native to the area.
