Cities in the Sea of Time:
East of Eden

---
The year is 1899. The previous century has been a long and turbulent one, filled with political, social, and cultural upheavals. Across the globe nations race towards modernity, each trying to outdo the last. The premier state of the age, of course, being the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Pax Britannica still reigns supreme. This is not to say, though, that they are not tested, for the balance of power in Europe has been greatly altered. The ascendancy of the German Empire and the Kaiser are of great concern to many. But alas this is a tale for another time, for when the clock struck midnight on the night of February 20th, the whole world would once more be changed. Starting from the poles of the planet strange energies would billow forth, key locations across the globe would play witness to an untold amount of peculiar events. The most common of these being the sightings of great domes of multicolored lights enveloping entire cities, and in their wakes leaving strange and exotic new lands. While scientists and theologians continue to argue to this day about what exactly had happened, the fact of the matter was that these cities had been transported to a wholly different place.
---
So after reading a bit too much of some silly S.M. Stirling fiction (Conquistador/the ubiquitous ISOT) and the 1632 series I have been inspired to attempt this undertaking (again).

Players are tasked with guiding the fate of a single city in these perilous times. A fifteen-mile radius, starting from the city's center, will be transported to a new Earth.

Note all cities above a population of 300,000 are off limits, I suggest players pick reasonably sized cities lest they deal with the repercussions.

The Major Action System™ will be incorporated here, it is a very efficient and straightforward system, albeit with even more modifications to the setting. Each polity has a standard three major actions they may take, per turn. However, as polities grow they will be awarded the ability to use four or five major actions each turn depending on their level. Any action taken per turn may be modified by a "Great Actor" (if you are in possession of one), to a limit of one action per actor. This will greatly increase the odds of success, especially if this is something they are good at. Great Actors will be received by event only, unless otherwise stipulated. The results of your actions will be given at the end of the turn in the Turn Report. Major Actions are given specific results by me in your end of Turn Report and dictate the progression, or lack thereof, of your polity.

General Rules:
  1. Don't be a dick
  2. Please wait 24 hours after the posting of a major war result to appeal. Espionage and minor warplans can be appealed immediately.
  3. We will be using the 3 claims system. (listed in order of preference)
  4. Feel free to use OTL and fictional people as you please, just make sure it makes sense. I don't really mind either way and I'll be using both.

Ah right, I remember this game from before. I'm tentatively interested, but I wanted to ask how you plan to address one of the major issues from the last game. Specifically, most Subsaharan African/American cities are going to have significant difficulty interacting with each other, or doing much besides expanding over vast tracts of land on a Virgin Earth and.or Bronze Age Earth. Which might be somebody's jive, but does seem like it could get really boring

I actually was going to restart the game I had made with this same setting. Just been busy to get around to making it. However, there have been a lot of new games started recently, so I will not be able to join this one.

Well there will be additional dangers in the world and I may possible throw in a few NPC cities. But if you have any ideas shoot me a PM, I'd love to hear anything tbh

Cool

Edinburgh, Auld Reekie, The Athens of the North, The City of Stone, Dùn Èideann, The Capital, Edina, Not Musselburgh.

I'll apply for Yazd, Iran.

Its population is a bit low in 1900, only ~45,000, but it was still using all the traditional methods of surviving in the arid, mountainous terrain of central Iran. A very survivable city.

I'll place a claim on Essen, second claim on Detroit, third on Kiev
