Celestial Days (Living Planet CYOA / Really Massive Multicross SI)

nice chapter thx for writing it
wonder how the burning legion would see the mc as a titan waiting to be born or as the sole old god from his world
since i think in wow lore titans are born from mana rich world's and old one are also part of those worlds ?

My first instinct would be to spray nuclear missiles through the portal until whatever's maintaining it on the other side is very, very dead.

Titan definitely, the old gods were parasites sent by the void to weaken and corrupt nascent titan world spirits. What we have here is an awakened Titan wno hasnt turned their planet into a giant humanoid golem avatar yet marvel celestial style.

If you can't move the portal away from yourself, why don't you move yourself away from the portal?

Or create another portal and chuck the one into the other. No matter what happens, that has to do SOMETHING to disrupt the connection.

Yup, planets are Titan Eggs, so they would see the protagonist as a Titan that has awakened but not yet decided to reshape itself into a more useful form. Amusingly, they wouldn't even be wrong to think that; by Warcraft standards the protagonist is a Titan, as Titans are just magical living planets that reshape themselves into big humanoids because reasons.

Even has a magical crystal 'heart' inside him and would presumably bleed magic if you tore a big enough hole in the protagonist's crust, just like a Titan.

At a guess, someone from their world went into your world and described their world to a native, who wrote it into fiction."
Do you really believe this method of explaining fictional parallel worlds? It always seemed like a major cop-out. It claims the existence of this huge worldspanning conspiracy to write fiction, and it takes away from an author's abilities. I'm more a fan of the explanation that the similarities between fiction and parallel worlds is merely fantastic odds.

Nice chapter. I had thought that you were going to drop Taylor back, but I guess even you would need more power to take on Scion. Nice surprise.

"What the hell?" Taylor yelled from her far away vantage. "Those are demons! From World of Warcraft!"

Indeed. That's an Eredar and a pair of infernals. Both are from the World of Warcraft.

I guess being a living planet doesn't do much for your reflexes. If it was me, I'd be "Burn it with spellfire!" before Taylor finished her second sentence.

Yeah it really is an annoying way of waving it away. Some things don't need an explanation.

He can make null-magic zones, areas with zero magic in them. All he has to do is create a bubble that magic can't pass through, the bubble will be drained by the portal and then the portal will cannibalize itself trying to suck more. Problem solved.

"Thank you," Taylor said. "And if I can help you, just tell me. I will fight if I can."

She can be the asteroid deterrent!
Wait, no, you have the asteroids...

"You know how parahumans in your world fight," I said. "And you know about the Endbringers. Describe them to me please. We'll take ideas from them all. Then we'll see about creating a defense force for this world. One that can function without magic."

So you might want to take their efforts with a grain of salt.
After all, copying failure isn't the road to success.

He's incredibly chill about this whole thing. Burning Legion, destroyers of worlds? ho hum let's watch them invade. Dark Titan of unlimited power? Let's hope they don't phone home. Portal doesn't close and they are standing around it chanting ritualistically? Let's see what happens, maybe it will be good. Oh, now it's draining and corrupting the magic of my world? Let's have a chat with Taylor about what a 15 year old would know about super heroes from her world. I don't really need magic anyway.

Good chapter.

But I am kinda worried that once he saw it was the B.L. he did not react more and that he should have blasted the entire area with asteroids just to be safe.

"But how can they be real?" Taylor demanded. "They're from a video game!"

"Travel between the worlds is possible," I said. "You yourself are proof of it. At a guess, someone from their world went into your world and described their world to a native, who wrote it into fiction."

Ah, but did they transmit it perfectly?
Games are constructed by game-logic, so games based on historical events have very limited adherence to the events that inspired them.

So if the game is "based on a true story" then you have to assume massive parts were changed, simplified, and completely rewritten to fit the game.
For example, a big boss and two lesser bosses makes perfect sense in a game.
A big boss and 37 lesser bosses is too much to work with.

You know just enough to be really, really wrong.

... so the SI can't even control his own magic now if this pollution goes on? That's disappointing. I liked this story for its particular flavour of OP and a setback like this before even changing one universe is quite meh.

I liked the story other than that, though.

Nope, the portal is being supplied entirely from the Demon side on Fel Magic, additional Fel Magic is slowly oozing through the portal and corrupting everything it comes into contact with as Fel Magic does. And Warcraft portals are basically impossible to shut down without first taking out the magic supplying them, which in this case will be a bunch of Demons on the other side, probably Eredar, Nathrezim or Sayaadi.

The majority of human emotions are primarily caused by certain chemical reactions in the brain. Lacking a meaty brain, the protagonist is limited to purely intellectual emotions, which are significantly less intense.

why not pull all the air out of the cavern it would kill the demons not fast but it would
Warcraft Demons do not need to breathe.

As far as the polluted mana, you'll probably either want to make something that can eat it and convert it either back into your stuff or into use it's power up to fuel something really energy intensive so that it uses it up fast.

If not that, eat the minds of several more mages and see about widening the kinds of magic you can control. If you are going to open more portals to who knows where, then this could be an issue for any other kind of magic you run across, not just something specific to the magic that the demons are using.

i agree with adarian plus would be neat if ya yoinked a zerg drone i bet you could mind control it i bet anything the first mages mind you ate has that kinda spell they are demons after all
