Huh, I'd say to pop the bubble and grab them, but I don't know if we'd be able to get into a position to grab them and pop the bubble.

On one hand, it's strong enough to hold her while she's in the air and presumably squirming around.

On the other, there are some cartoon physics at play so logic doesn't necessarily apply.

Down drafts run into similar problems though, and will likely remove the option to just pop the bubble and catch them as they fall

We're probably faster than them falling. Also there's a risk of missing if we try popping from under them.

Depending on how things work out, I don't know if we'd actually be faster than them falling -- neglecting drag everything will accelerate down at the same rate after all. Now, we probably will be able to reduce our drag enough that we do fall faster (or cartoon physics will work in our favor), so for the the sake of discussion it's probably a reasonable assumption to make.

The big issue I see is that if we get too close to the ground we can't safely catch them if the bubble pops. That's the big risk with down draft. A huge danger zone where they'll be hurt if the bubble pops since we won't be able to safely catch them.

The big risk in any of these is dealing with the bubble popping. Popping it while we're high up gives us the best shot at a safe catch; getting the bubble to the ground removes the need for a catch but also will remove the ability to perform a catch if it is suddenly needed.

Can also reduce the amount to fall so it's not lethal. Painful, but not lethal

I mean, the coming up from under them idea seems like it should be viable for working. I really doubt that bubble could handle having a Champion brushing up against it since/if it was made by another Champion.

[X] Come up from below and try to pop the bubble when they can land on Birdramon's back.

If they can't pop the bubble then we've still caught the bubble and can carry it to the ground.

[X] Just talk to Kari. (About what?)

Okay, now that's over with...

Another actual good idea. Of course, at this point, everyone else is looking for ways to head to the mountain, but nothing says you can't just wait out the boss fight in a card shop... assuming anyone else ever gets there. As you can probably guess, Tai and Kari's attempt did not go very well.

Of All the Places to Land...
Okay... well, if the bubble's strong enough to hold Kari, it's probably not going to immediately pop if you mess with it. Still, you really don't want to leave her fate up in the air like this. Mostly because Tai would kill you if you did.

"Kari, you want to come down now?" You ask, though you're not really giving her a choice unless she has a really good reason for sitting with Bukamon in a bubble. And you're not sure a good reason for something like that even exists. It just seems dumb, that's all.

"...Yeah, that sounds good," Bukamon decides from his spot on the girl's shoulder. "Come on, Kari, talk to us."

"Huh...? Oh... we can come down? That's nice..." Something's wrong. So you should probably land as soon as you possibly can. Particularly when she looks so pale.

"Birdramon, see if we can't get her safely to the ground somehow," You instruct your partner. "Maybe with your wings?"

Not that Birdramon needs much instruction for this. You've both been watching some of the same shows growing up, after all, even if you're pretty sure that your Digimon has no taste. And you're pretty sure it will work, if only because the DigiWorld is one of those places where conventional physics tend to just curl up in the corner and die.

...Maybe you shouldn't be taking old cartoons as a lesson for how life works in this world, but you've always been told they were accurate, so it's not that big a deal, right? Right.

Your plan works, for the most part. Up until you get close to the ground of the savanna and the bubble pops itself on a tree. So now you need to get Kari and Bukamon down.

Bukamon's the easy part. He just leaps from the top branch of the tree onto Birdramon's head without a second thought. "Come on, Kari!" He calls back. The girl simply clings tightly to the branch she landed on, shaking her head. "Can't... scared."

Well, this could be a problem.

[ ] Try and get Birdramon closer in.

[ ] Climb up to her yourself.

[ ] Try to distract her by talking about something. (What?)

[ ] ...Maybe she can stay there a little longer? You're sure Izzy has some way to help!

... She triggers so many "big sibling, must protect" buttons.

Just how athletic are we? Could also de-digivolve and have Biyomon help her down. Not sure what to talk to her about for that option though... Ask her what she's been doing? Reminisce about Tai being an idiot some? On the other hand:
As you can probably guess, Tai and Kari's attempt did not go very well.
Tai isn't here, which could mean bad things.

Yeah. I binged up to here and there's no explanation of the mechanics and how they affect rolls, just a gdoc explaining what each stat is.

So yes, really.

Edit: I say that with the + on the sheet because I have no idea if those are meant as raw modifiers for whatever size die we're using or supposed to be something else.

I'm pretty sure it's dice rolls plus modifiers and something based off our stats as a baseline. Right?
I edited, but I have no idea? The ones on the raw stats seem more in line with a d20 system, but the ones on the skills seem like they belong on something larger, though appear too small for a d100 system at first glance, so I have no idea.

(Being Good at something should not leave 80% of whatever your total skill check is up to chance, but since we get 300+ on some characters totals, I have no idea what's going on)

Yeah, something's really wrong with how Kari was acting earlier. I hope Tai and the others are okay...

The +s on the stats are modifiers for the stats themselves. For example our base WILL stat is 16 but it's being increased by 6 due to our Traits so it's actually 22. Our skill modifiers are for a d100. We aren't actually 'good' at anything yet honestly. Though we have a Trait that gives us a +15 to all rolls while in the Digital World's Southern Hemisphere, which we currently are in. The +15 also stacks with our skill modifiers too. The DC of tasks are based on our Stats.

As for why you saw things over 300? The previous digidestined aren't good at the skill of their choice. They are the BEST by miles ahead of everyone else. Cuz they are minmaxers.

Well, I mean, she's been stuck in Monzaemon's heart bubble for who knows how long, and given that those things affect the emotions and Monzaemon has pseudo-hypnosis powers on top of that, it's little surprise Kari's acting loopy.
