On Omakes, and the Benefits Thereof
That's quite clearly leading up to our doom, and, if I can be quite blunt, your emphasis on 5 and 4 made me think that something to do with tri's flashbacks were going to go down.

But, that's not what I have a problem with. You said all seasons are important, all of a sudden, with no seeming prior context to give us a reason to suspect that, and once you said it, we were left scrambling to figure out what you meant, and not in a good way.

Besides that, we're making what we feel are perfectly good, rational choices here, and the knowledge that you have that those choices are, in fact, "bad", and the why of their "badness" is yours alone. We don't have your knowledge and the ability to make the "good" choices here.

No offense, but you kinda seem like you expect us to be on your level already.
Okay, so I said it wrong. It's all seasons in the Adventure continuity... for the most part. There will be an opportunity to go dimension hopping in roughly five years or so if you want to, in which case knowledge of all things Digimon is important. And there is a bit of leak through.
If you ever go to Shinjuku, there will be rolls to see if you meet Ryo Akiyama.

My first suggestion: watch Tri. Should only take a few days. Failing that, just find sufficient spoilers.

I recognize I'm not that good at communication. I'm trying my best. All choices are equally valid, it's just that some are more likely to succeed than others, and/or less likely to actually make you fight the Parrotmon.

I also recognize that not everyone spends all their time on the internet. I'm sure some of you actually have lives, despite the stereotypes and how quickly you respond. So I'm going to give you a fast way to get important information on the world around you- though how best to use in in-character is still an exercise for the players: Omakes.

Write an omake, get a free question! Noncanon gives you a question about Digimon canon. Compliant (Could fit in with quest canon, but doesn't really) lets you ask about things caused by the Butter-Fly Effect, including which characters are currently under it.

Canon omake? In that case, ask anything! If the answer completely trivializes everything, there's a decent chance half of it will be redacted, but that can be gotten around by asking the right questions. I promise to answer everything truthfully as best I am able.

In no way is this padding to get more player participation. ...Okay, maybe a little. But you get more specific information, and I don't have to hide behind as heavy a hint as I can without outright saying the name [REDACTED]. Everyone wins!

Turns Out Little Kids Are Bad At Plans
"We need to work together on this," You decide. Because it's not just you, as much as you'd thought so this morning. It's you and Matt and TK, and Tai and Kari have been pulled into it as well, for an apparently different reason.

Not what you were expecting when you woke up this morning, but if you wanted normalcy, you would have gone to the park.

"What do you mean by together?" Tai asks.

"I mean all of us," you clarify. "Because TK has a Digimon, too, and if we can find out where they come from, and why they're here..."

"I don't think there really is a reason," Yokomon admits. "I wasn't hatched yet when I came to this world."

"Wait, do you mean hatched as in most recent, or as in..." Koromon trails off, seeing how puzzled you all look. "Never mind, I think I get it. So, who is TK, anyway?"

"My little brother. We live just a few floors away, so we could probably take you to meet him. Pretty sure he and Kari could play together while we figure this out." Because it's not a question to any of you. You will figure things out.

It'd be different, you suppose, if it had been just one of you. They would have lived their life with a new addition and it would all have turned out just fine. Maybe. Or maybe Tai and Kari would have failed so bad at Digimon care that Koromon turned into a poop-thing. But it wouldn't have been a big deal, because it wouldn't matter to the others.

And now it does, because all three of you are connected to the little creatures, though you're the only one who has one of her own.

You can't say how or why, but you just know that something important is happening now, and today is the start of something big.

You just hope it's a good thing.

Tokomon, Yokomon, and Koromon have started a competition. They're blowing bubbles into shapes somehow, with TK and Kari acting as the judges. TK actually talking, and Kari using that whistle she wears everywhere. You worry about her sometimes, or at least for the hearing of those around her.

It's adorable. It's also really distracting, since you're comparing what you know with Tai and Matt right now, and you think you've brought up the amount of food Yokomon eats in one day twice already.

You ignore the bubble in the shape of the devices you and TK carry that floats past your face. The three of you have put together all the information you can, and it doesn't really amount to much.

First, you and TK received your devices and Digimon on the same day. Both of them spent about a week in their Baby forms before transitioning to what Koromon calls an In-Training state. Given the name, there's probably more forms out there to acquire, but you don't know what they are, let alone have any way of going about it.

Second, the devices that you and TK carry are probably important in some fashion. The two of you can use them to track each other, though you haven't yet tested to see if the signal is tied to the person or the device. Given that you can't even interpret the dots on each other's screens, you suppose it doesn't really matter.

Third, Koromon likely does not have a partner, as in both prior instance, the device came with the egg. None of you are entirely sure what to do with him for now, but it would only be fair if Tai and Kari were to take care of him. That, and your not sure the family food budget would survive if you were to take him. Between the three of them, the Digimon ate a hundred sandwiches at lunch. Literally.

Finally, the Digimon all come from another world, and Koromon appears to believe it's possible for them to hatch multiple times, which none of you understand the implications of.
(Sora has gained the skill: Knowledge (Digital World) at +1)
Simply put, while you probably know more about Digimon than almost anybody else, you also don't know nearly enough to deal with whatever is coming next.

You glance away from the conversation- which is still going nowhere- to see that Tokomon has somehow formed ring-shaped bubbles and is using them to put on a circus act. At least, up until he slips on a pillow and lands on TK's head.

"Can they all just use bubbles?" You ask.

Matt nods. "I think so. Poyomon's bubbles were smaller, though. And blue. Not pink."

"Botamon blasted me in the face..." Tai groans. "And then Kari somehow convinced him to blow them in tune to a song she made up with her whistle." You wish you could have seen that.

"Nyokimon didn't use a lot of bubbles," You note. "She'd just tell me whenever something was wrong, and I'd fix it." They both shoot you looks of betrayal.

"...We're not getting anywhere," Matt sighs, as Yokomon gives a cheer of victory behind you. "If only we had a way to learn more..."

You glance at your device. Two of the dots that aren't TK's are out of... whatever range you got. You still don't know how to tell. For all you know, they could be just a block away, but it's starting to get late. You can't just uproot everyone to go searching right now, not when you've spent the whole day trying to figure things out in one place and most of you are your species' equivalent of toddlers.

"Sora, I won! I won!" Your partner runs up and jumps into your lap. You see that TK has fallen asleep, cuddling Tokomon.

"Is it his naptime already?" Matt asks nobody in particular. "Sorry, but you're going to have to leave now... I don't exactly trust you not to wake him up."

Given prior evidence, you have to admit he has a point. But mid-afternoon or not, you don't have to go home just yet.

[ ] Try and find one of the dots still in range.
-[ ] The powerful one.
-[ ] The faded one.

[ ] Teach Tai and Kari about proper Digimon care, so that Koromon does not turn into a poop-thing. (Note: Not taking this option will not cause Koromon to Digivolve into a poop-thing.)

[ ] Go straight home.

[ ] Stop by home just long enough to get your mother and beg her for ice cream. (Note: Ice cream not guaranteed.)

Just a Question
You think back to this morning. What you really wanted was to find out what the dots were. In searching, you simply uncovered even more mysteries. But the one you might be able to solve is still there.

Two dots that aren't TK are on screen. One of them is the brightest of them all, carrying a feeling of overwhelming power. You aren't sure which part of it makes you think of Tai, but it doesn't matter, because that's not the one you're going after.

The other one... you can barely see it, even when it's in range. It's just as present as the others, but... there's little to no strength to it. Not in the way of TK's, either. It's intriguing.

It's also closer, which has a much larger part to play in your decision. Your parents don't mind you going between apartments, but they generally want you to at least stay on the same street. You'll still be in trouble, but might as well make it less.

"Hey, Tai, want to come look for this dot with me?" You ask, pointing at your choice and hoping he can actually see it.

"I'd need to take Kari home first..." He starts, "But sure! Koromon can tell my parents where we've gone, right?"

"Sure thing, Tai!" The youngest(?) Digimon agrees. You get the feeling this wasn't the best idea, but... well, running off wasn't that good of an idea in the first place, right?

You're sure it will be fine.

You follow the dot to a few blocks away. Probably a lot closer than it was the first time you checked your device this morning, but you aren't complaining. You, Tai, and Yokomon have already gotten your fair share of weird looks.

It's a nice cafe that you're led to, somewhat out of place among the larger buildings. There aren't many people in there, either. Just the people that work there, a couple sitting near the back-

And, in the middle of the shop, a brown haired teenage girl. You aren't sure why, but something tells you she's the one you're looking for.

She hasn't noticed you or Tai yet. You're carrying Yokomon so she won't jump away and try to talk to people.

What now?

[ ] Approach and introduce yourselves.

[ ] Wait and observe.

[ ] See if Tai can't get her attention.

[ ] Does Yokomon have any ideas?

[ ] Now that you've seen the girl, you'd probably recognize her if you saw her again. Go home and wait for another day.

The Girl Who Couldn't Let Go
Well, you didn't come all this way only to back out now that you've found what you're looking for. You walk right up to the table the girl is sitting at, pretending that you aren't nervous about meeting someone who you only know about because of a random dot.

Tai seems confused. Most likely because he cannot decipher the dots. But he still follows you.

"Um... Hi!" You greet the girl. She looks up. Sees you and Yokomon. Sees the device in your hands. Blinks. Reaches into her pocket and pulls out a device of her own.

It doesn't look quite the same as yours, but it's still recognizable as the same basic thing. Which is strange. The ones you and TK carry look identical, after all. She presses a button, waits a moment, shakes her head, and puts it back in her pocket.

"You... have a Digivice. And a Yokomon." Her voice is quiet. Almost... sad? Well, you did get that impression of her dot, but... "When? How?"

"L-last month. They just... came out of the computer one day. It's called a Digivice, huh?" You turn yours over in your hand for a moment. "Oh, I'm Sora Takenouchi. The lunkhead here is Tai Kamiya, and... well... you already know what a Yokomon is." You weren't prepared for this in the slightest.

Actually, it's more that you weren't prepared for today in general. For the possibility of others existing.

If it's any consolation, the girl doesn't seem prepared, either. "Maki Himekawa. I guess this explains one of the new dots, huh? Not that- not that I can really tell. Mine doesn't work right anymore. It's just a fancy watch now." She frowns. "And tracking signal, but... Usually it's just one of my friends."

It comes to mind that, while Yokomon never leaves your side if she can help it, you don't see a Digimon anywhere near Maki. You decide not to ask- at least, not just yet. Maybe some other day, once you've actually gotten to know each other.

"Your friends?" Tai asks. She nods.

"You- you remind me of one of them. I'm not sure- no. No, I know why." She laughs, a little. "It's the goggles. He has a set, too, you know..." She trails off.

"It's nice to meet you," You tell her, nudging Tai in the hope that he'll get the hint and not talk anymore.

He doesn't.

Thankfully, Tai doesn't say anything to completely ruin the day. And you manage to regain control of the conversation quickly enough. Not that it lasts very long, when you have to go home soon and don't want to be in more trouble than you are already.

Maki hands you a napkin with phone numbers written on them- her and her friends, with instructions to call someone if a Digimon-related emergency shows up. "We can't promise to be able to help, but... at least you'll have someone." There's probably a story there.

It's probably not a happy one.

"There won't be a problem," You try to reassure her. You certainly can't think of one at the moment.

"I hope not, but...." She pauses for a moment, as if unsure of what to say- she's been doing that a lot. "Take care of her, okay?"

Somehow, you don't think she's talking to Yokomon.

You're going to be in trouble today. You and Tai went off without warning, after all. You're going to need to tell your parents something.

[ ] The basic truth. There was another dot nearby that you went to see, and you made a new friend.

[ ] The entire thing. From Matt taking you to TK and Tokomon to when you met Maki.

[ ] Lie. You and Tai just wandered off to go play.

[ ] Lie outrageously. Given the appearance of Yokomon, they have to believe in something as crazy as aliens, right? (DC 95)

Prelude to Adventure
You don't like it when your parents are upset with you. You care about them a lot, and disappointing them like this... you almost wish you hadn't wandered off. Tai has it worse, though. Given that he left Kari home alone with only a Koromon to look after her, he's going to be in so much trouble, it wouldn't surprise you if you didn't see him for a month after this.

"Well?" Your mother asks. You know she's only mad because she cares. Somehow, that just makes it worse.

"So, um... the first dot was at Matt's apartment. Turns out TK also has a Digimon, Tokomon. And we... realized that we both got them at the same time, and that there might be others and stuff, so we went to see Tai and Kari, who hatched a Botamon that turned into Koromon while we were there. They don't have a... a Digivice." That was what Maki called it, right?

"Digivice?" Your father asks. "Is that what you've decided to call it?"

"Well, not me... another dot. Maki Himekawa. She knows what they are, though hers... doesn't work, apparently. Maybe because she doesn't have a partner? She's really nice, and knows a lot about Digimon!" You pull out the napkin. Five telephone numbers. "She's even got friends who know as much as she does!"

"She seemed kind of sad, though," Yokomon comments. "She... I think she liked me, but she didn't like looking at me."

You'd noticed that. But it... hadn't seemed that big a thing, really. Just another piece of the puzzle to understanding the one person you know who seems to know what's going on. Or maybe you just don't want to see it. That not everything to do with Digimon is friendship and happiness.

You're not sure if you're parents get it, either. But maybe it's for the best if they don't.

All things considered, that could have gone worse. You're to go to bed early for three days, you're not to visit your friends for a week. It's not that bad, really, especially since you'll still have Yokomon.

Really, it's Yokomon that has more of a problem with that, and that's because she just got her friends. But you're sure Tokomon and Koromon will still be there after the week is up. You tell her this, as well, and she listens, though she's snuggled closer to you than usual tonight.

You can't get to sleep. It's part of why going to bed early is so effective a punishment for you- You have problems holding still for so long, and it actually makes it harder to get a proper rest, since all the extra energy will keep waking you up at night.

Like now. The room is completely dark, Yokomon's cuddled up to you, and the clock on your Digivice says 2:30.

Suddenly, a light flashes out of the corner of your eye. Curious, you climb out of bed and walk over to the window.

There's a hole in one of the buildings across the street, right where the Kamiya apartment is. A running shape passes one of the streetlights. A large yellow dinosaur Digimon. And is that Kari on his back? Yokomon's been at her current stage for a month- how did Koromon Digivolve so fast!?

You have a problem.

[ ] Wake your parents. Now. They need to know what's going on.

[ ] Sneak out on your own. You have to see this.

[ ] Call one of the numbers on your napkin. Sure, it's late, but this is a Digimon-related emergency if you ever saw one.

Calling For Help
You know you're not supposed to use the phone at night, even when you aren't under punishment. But you don't know what to do. Certainly, Yokomon would be no match for a dinosaur. And you were told to call if there was an emergency... dinosaur Digimon running away with your friend's sister? Probably counts.

You slip out of your bedroom, moving towards the kitchen as quietly as possible. It's really easy, actually! Feels more like a game than anything!
(Sora has gained the skill: Stealth at +5)
You have the napkin, and while it comes to mind that you can't really read names next to the numbers, you didn't want to wake up Yokomon, no matter how much better with this she might be. You'll just have to dial randomly and hope for the best- assuming they even answer. It's the middle of the night, after all.

One button... two... and soon you're sitting in a dark kitchen with nothing but the soft sound of ringing on the other end- until someone picks it up.

"H-hey..." A tired male voice sounds from the other end. "...Maki? You're calling earlier than usual tonight."

You shake your head, though you know the boy on the other end can't hear you. "N-not Maki. I'm... I'm Sora Takenouchi. Maki told me to call this number if a Digimon-related emergency came up."

"And, given that it's the middle of the night, I'm assuming something came up?" You nod, though again, you realize it doesn't matter.

"Y-yes. My friend and his sister- they hatched a Digimon this morning. No Digivice. It- it started as a Botamon, then Digivolved to Koromon, and I think it Digivolved again just now. It's a big yellow dinosaur and it's running off with my friend's sister!" It takes all of your willpower to keep from hyperventilating. No. You can't freak out right now. "S-sorry, I-"

"It's okay." The words sound rehearsed, like he's said them many times before. Somehow, you wouldn't be surprised if he has. "Can you tell me where the... I'm guessing Agumon... ran off to?"

You tell him as much as you can- which really isn't much. He sighs. "That... that could be a problem. And Maki's probably going to be calling soon, especially since..." He trails off. "But I'll see what I can do." And that'll have to be enough, even if he doesn't promise anything.

You ignore the little voice in your head that tells you he probably can't. "Th-thanks, um..."

"Daigo Nishijima. Don't worry, it's going be be just fine. I hope..." You get the feeling you weren't supposed to hear that last part, especially as he hangs up immediately after.

You've managed to contact someone. Hopefully there's actually something he can do. You slip back to your room, closing the door as quietly as possible.

"...Sora?" Yokomon must have woken up after you left. "What's wrong? Why did you leave the room?"

Without thinking, you explain everything to your partner. She looks up at you. "Are you sure we shouldn't leave anyway? We don't- Digivolving that fast can't be healthy, and Koromon-" Of course she's worried. There's only two Digimon she knows.

But if you leave now, you'll be in even more trouble. You're not sure you've ever been this conflicted before.

[ ] Go back to sleep. You've told someone who knows what they're doing, this is out of your hands now.

[ ] Listen to Yokomon and slip outside. You might get into more trouble, but you're worried about Kari.

[ ] Keep watching your Digivice. Maybe you'll be able to reassure your partner that way.

[ ] Watch out the window. If anything big happens, you'll be able to see it from there, right?

Chasing a Dinosaur
Staying out of trouble is all well and good, but you can't help but worry about Kari. She's a cute little kid, and Tai's sister, besides. Who wouldn't want to help her?

Slipping out of the apartment is even easier than just getting to the phone was, though that isn't saying much. You pause by the door to your parents' room and hear nothing but snores. If you're lucky, you can get back before they wake up.

You hope you're that lucky.

You're down to the street in only a few minutes, and quickly see that Tai has clearly had the same idea as you, though unlike you, he doesn't have his own Digimon to protect him.

"Tai, wait up!" You call. You don't want him being alone when there's a Digimon likely more powerful than Yokomon out there. You've seen the damage her bubbles can do if aimed properly, and the dinosaur Koromon has become is at a higher level, which means more strength.

"Sora? What are you doing out here?" He slows down, but only enough for you to catch up.

"Trying to find Kari, of course! What happened?" You don't expect the most cohesive answer out of him. All your knowledge on Digimon comes from experience, and no matter how much you've shared, this is something entirely new, and he hasn't had the time to properly absorb all that you and Matt have learned.

"Koromon changed and broke the bed. Kari climbed on his head for some reason, and then they jumped out the window!" Right. You're still not sure how he Digivolved so fast, but you assume it's because Tai and Kari either are complete failures at caring for Digimon- which you don't think you're going to rule out for some time- or are unnaturally good at it. For now, you're going with the failure option. This can't be healthy.

"Do you know which way they went?" Yokomon asks. Her eyes are fixed firmly ahead, though that may be due to the fact that you're carrying her more than anything.

Not that Tai needs to answer, because the broken vending machines and trails of soda are as good a hint as any.

But that doesn't matter as much as you'd hope, because the Digimon has a massive head start on you, and could probably run faster if he wanted. You don't know what you're doing or if there's even a good chance-

"Sora! Sora! Focus!" Yokomon tries to tell you, but...

"The trails have to run out eventually," You state. "They could be anywhere by then."

"Could they really go that far?" You shoot Tai a glare for that question. Of course they can go that far, who'd try and tell a dinosaur that he can't do anything?

"What do you expect us to do? We can't just follow the trail of destruction!"

"Been working out pretty well so far," He points out.

"It doesn't look all that destroyed, actually," Yokomon notes. "You think he just really wanted soda?"

You all pause for a moment to consider this. It seems frighteningly plausible, given the general track records of the Digimon you know. All three of them, but that's besides the point! The fact is, it would not surprise you if the dinosaur decided to break a vending machine for no reason other than a sugary drink.

Or several, because there's another vending machine just a few streets ahead, and it's broken too.

"New suggestion," You say, "He just really hates vending machines."

"Can I have a soda?" Yokomon asks, and you don't really see a reason to deny her. It would certainly be better than letting the cans roll around until they were crushed by a bus or something.

"I don't recommend it." You and Tai both turn to see Maki, along with a dark-haired boy with goggles around his neck, roughly her age. The two of them are in pajamas, showing just how recently they woke up. The golden-eyed girl continues to speak. "Not unless you want to deal with the caffeine rush from hell, anyway."

"Is it really that bad?" You ask, as Yokomon jumps down, wanders over to one of the cans, and starts trying to open the tab despite a distinct lack of any limbs to do it with.

"Digimon gain more restraint as they Digivolve to higher forms," The boy starts, the look on his face- that you can see, the streetlights are being weird right now- saying that he's learned this from experience. "I have never once given a Rookie Digimon caffeine because I like my sanity. My friend Haruka... wasn't as logical when it came to Guilmon."

"That was just the once," Maki points out. "She learned better. And we all agreed never to talk about it again."

"Does it really count if I'm trying to keep a kid from making the same mistake?" He asks. Yokomon has moved to trying to pry the tab open with her mouth.

"We have business to do. Starting with... let's see... finding the Agumon you dragged me out to deal with?" You quickly find yourself growing bored with their argument, turning to where Yokomon still hasn't given up on her soda.

"Come on, open already!" Suddenly, she pauses. "Um... does anyone hear something?"

You listen, and above the squabbling of your predecessors comes a small voice. "No! You can't break the bus! I know Mom says they're never on time, but making it go boom won't help!"

Kari. "This way!" You call, taking off down the street without a second thought. You don't check to make sure, but you think the others are following, if only to make sure you don't get lost.

She's there, at the end of the next street. Your partner is at your heels, keeping up as well as a tiny radish is able. The Digimon ahead turns to face you, mouth brimming with fire that's probably not meant for you, but the fear is all too real, especially as the dinosaur takes to basting the surroundings with fire.

There's a flash, at your side, and suddenly your Digimon is no longer the little radish you've been taking care of, but a pink bird that hovers at shoulder height as she attempts to use her talons to get at a soda tab.

"What are we supposed to do?" Biyomon asks. That's actually a pretty good question.

[ ] Defer to the older kids. They probably know what they're doing better than you, even if you're the only one with a Digimon.

[ ] Ask Tai for advice. This is his sister you're trying to retrieve, after all.

[ ] Try to get Biyomon in there. She should be safe, they've both Digivolved the same amount of times, after all.

All's Well That Ends Well... What Do You Mean We Haven't Fought the Boss!?
"We need to get her away from there." Tai's voice is quiet. Which is weird and sort of wrong. Tai doesn't do quiet. "Can anyone do anything?"

"Maybe we can talk him down?" Biyomon suggests, now attempting to get at the soda with her beak. Somehow, you don't see that working out anytime soon. "I mean, he was plenty nice as Koromon, right?"

"I don't know..." Maki states. "Digivolving can change Digimon a lot."

"Not that much..."

"Daigo, does the name 'MadLeomon' mean anything to you?"

"Unfortunately..."

"My point stands."
(Just for the sake of comparison...)
You don't have time for this. Not when the Digimon is getting closer and still spitting fire. "Hey, stop that! You're not being very nice, Agumon!"
(Sora's Diplomacy check: 23. Agumon's Intimidate check: 98)
Agumon stares at you, before huffing and breathing more fire. "It didn't work..." You whine.

"Um... anyone else want to try?" Tai asks. "Because I really don't want Kari anywhere near that thing!"

It's Daigo who steps forward next, not even batting an eye at all the fire. "You know you shouldn't do that, right Agumon? You're scaring your friends."

"You aren't scared," The dinosaur growls.

"No, but I'm partnered to the tiger of the west."
(Daigo's Intimidate/Diplomacy check total: 327)
"That..." Agumon struggles to come up with a reply, but he's not burning things anymore, so you think that's a good thing.

"Now, why don't you put that little girl down and stop lighting things on fire?" You hear a cry of victory beside you as Biyomon finally figures out how to get the soda into her mouth. You hope that you don't grow to regret this.

"Y-yes, of course!" Agumon lifts Kari off his head and sets her down, where she quickly runs over to Tai.

"Kari! Are you okay?" He asks. The little girl nods and whistles tearfully. "...And you're back to whistling, huh?"

"Butshesokaysothatsgoodright?" Biyomon asks. Daigo and Maki stare at her in horror. "WhydidyoudestrythevendingmachinesanywayAgumon?" Her wings seem to be flapping at hypersonic speeds. You have grown to regret this.
Biyomon is caffeinated! She gets 5×as many combat actions for as long as this status remains!
"Numemon," He replies. Which honestly answers none of your questions.

Before you can ask him to elaborate, however, the sky above you turns green. Everyone looks up to see a large egg-shaped thing in the sky. It shudders once, twice, and cracks open, revealing a large green bird.

(SEGMENT BOSS: PARROTMON)

This... can not be a good thing.

[ ] Fight!

[ ] Run!

[ ] Try talking to it!

[ ] Better yet, have one of the others try talking to it!

See, He Didn't Fit the Theme
You can't stay out here. That much is obvious, what with the giant green bird from hell and all. You're not sure what kind of Digimon it is, but you're well aware that Biyomon doesn't stand a chance. Being a full twentieth of its size and all.

"Um... we should get to safety," You advise Tai and Kari, along with your partner. Agumon can do whatever he wants for all you care, and Daigo and Maki can probably take care of themselves.

"Y-yeah, good idea," Tai agrees. Kari whistles in fear, not letting go of Tai's hand as the four of you duck behind the bridge, followed closely by Biyomon. You don't see the others following you, but you can still hear them from where you're standing.

"Feral, do you think?" Daigo asks. "...Wait, no. It can't be. For a normal egg to slip through is one thing, but..."

"But the walls between the worlds aren't that easy to tear apart," Maki finishes. "Much as I might wish it were, sometimes."

"Yeah, I thought you'd say that." You strain harder to make out his words. And Agumon's reply.

"You think he planned this? But why? There's nothing here!" You don't have to strain, however, to hear the large Digimon's mocking laughter.

"Nothing, he says. Nothing at all! Of course there's nothing... Nothing but the chance to unseat the greatest powers in the Digital World! I could have been the most powerful in their service, but they chose that literal chicken Sinduramon over me!"

"And this ties into this world... how, exactly?" Daigo asks, which you've been wondering a bit yourself. He actually sounds apprehensive, which given how little he seemed to care for Agumon's fireballs, is probably not a good sign.

"Wait, didn't you say-?"

"Shut up!" Maki hisses, and Agumon obligingly stops talking.

"I'm not sure why that matters to you. After all, there are only four Sovereigns. Four targets. And the human world can't be that big, I'm sure I'll hit one if I aim big enough!" Those words... and what Agumon was doing earlier... you're clearly not safe here.

Clearly, you're not the only one who thinks so. There's a blinding flash- no, three. One from the other side of the bridge, where Agumon is. One from you Digivice, which is the first time it's actually glowed so bright. And one from Biyomon.

And she grows. Getting larger and larger, her glow only more intense by the moment. Her now-orange wings unfurl, their full span more than half the length of the bridge that you're using for shelter- as good as it would do against the parrot.

Birdramon floats above you, her talons scraping the air just above you, and through what little you can see past the bridge, a much larger dinosaur Digimon stands where Agumon once was. You'd worry about so many Digivolutions in one day later, when you weren't at risk of whatever the parrot could do to the city.

The enemy hasn't seen you yet. He's more focused on the visible threat of the former Agumon.

Four turns remain.

[ ] Ride Birdramon into battle.

[ ] Stay put. Do not ride Birdramon into battle, but send her in anyway.

[ ] Stay defensive. Birdramon stays here.

[ ] Leave Birdramon long enough to get Daigo and Maki to cover. If this is enough to worry them, they probably shouldn't be out here.

Yeah, This is Why He's Not a Deva, Besides the Lack of a Parrot Zodiac
You don't know what the Sovereigns are, or why the parrot thinks that he can dethrone them. But you know danger when you see it, and Daigo and Maki cannot be left anywhere near that thing.

"Let's go, Birdramon!" You order your partner, who flaps her wings, lifting herself up into the sky before diving at the bird on the other side of the bridge. You're not sure just how she can knock away something so powerful, but she and the dinosaur are working together now, and that can only be a good thing.

"She Digivolved again?" Daigo asks in surprise. "Her and Greymon... Are you sure neither of your friends have a Digivice?"

"I'm sure," You reply, because there's simply no chance of it. Six dots. Five telephone numbers. And you already know that the unmatched one is TK. There's simply no room for Tai and Kari to have one, even as they seem to have become a part of this world.

Greymon breathes fire and Birdramon rains down meteors. "We should go now," You say. "Not very far since we can't let him get away, but..."

"She has a point," Maki states. "I mean, I already live in the area, so it's sort of expected I at least notice, but you really shouldn't be here. Unless you've forgotten what he just said?"

"Of course not! I think I know better than to stay within blasting range of a crazed Ultimate."

"Especially since it took four Champions to handle the last one?"
The green bird shoves Birdramon to the side after her latest dive. For as much good as it's worth when Greymon charges into him, tackling him to the side, leaving him open for even more meteors. The humans on this side of the bridge take your chance to get out of there.

"How's it going?" Tai asks, once you get to safety. Kari whistles at you, apparently wanting to ask the same thing, but you're not sure. You don't speak whistle.

"The Champions are doing fairly well at holding off the Parrotmon," Maki says. "But there's only two of them, and neither of them have a large advantage against birds."

"It's not like we can have them retreat, though," Daigo points out. "And none of the others will be awake at this hour, so we can't warn them to get out of the city... assuming they'd even listen."

It's not a good situation. Birdramon and Greymon are putting up a fight, but the experts agree that it can't last long. Nor do you have a lot of good options.

Three turns remain.

[ ] Try to hold your positions. The Champions are keeping Parrotmon distracted, so he shouldn't be able to attack.
-[ ] Ask Maki and Daigo a few questions.

[ ] Retreat. There has to be someplace in this city that you can use to your advantage. If you move, though, there's a high risk of increased collateral.

[ ] Have one of the Champions move back for now. The other will be more at risk of getting attacked, but there will also be less attacks hitting random buildings.
-[ ] Birdramon
-[ ] Greymon
