Tai: 54. A boy you've known since you were very small, partnered to an Agumon and bearer of the Crest of Courage. Tends to act without thinking, most of the time, but it wouldn't be him otherwise.
Matt: 67. Your best human friend, by far, partner of Gabumon and bearer of the Crest of Friendship. Has probably figured out what that means.
TK: 30. Matt's sweet little brother, bearer of the Crest of Hope and partner to Patamon. You hope the most recent events haven't scarred him too badly.
Kari: 42. Tai's adorable little sister, bearer of the Crest of Light, and partner to Gatomon. She's really glad to have finally met her partner.
Maki Himekawa: 12. The one who got you in contact with the other DigiDestined, partner to Agumon and Tapirmon. Spent a long time in the Digital World, a decent amount of it as a keychain, and is understandably having problems adjusting.
Daigo Nishijima: 29. The leader of the group of DigiDestined active before you, partner to Baihumon. Can talk circles around anyone with little provocation.
Kazuya Matsumoto: 28. An aspiring cook with a preference for seafood, partner to Zhuqiaomon. Also your exercise buddy.
Rikuto Nakano: 27. One of Daigo's friends, Kazuya's unwilling rival, and partner to Azulongmon. He's gone now, and you think that might be your fault.
Haruka Yamaguchi: 25. Easily the smartest person you know, and partner to Ebonwumon. The local benevolent mad scientist.
Izzy: 22. The smartest person you know around your own age, partner to Tentomon and bearer of the Crest of Knowledge. The mad scientist's understudy.
Joe: 27. The most normal person you know, and Gomamon's partner. Getting used to this whole 'DigiDestined' thing.
Mimi: 4. A friend of Matt's, partner to Palmon and bearer of the Crest of Sincerity. You don't actually know how to relate to her that well.
Team Moon: 8. A trio made up of Lunamon, Lopmon, and SnowAgumon, with the ability to DNA Digivolve into Lekismon. They have been able to synchronize since they were very young.

Lift Off the Ground
...Right. Sora. You're Sora Takenouchi. An only child, though that doesn't entirely matter when the neighborhood is filled with children your age. You play with them, sometimes, though you don't entirely fit in. Not with the girls: you're too much of a tomboy. Not with the boys: they're still in the 'cooties' stage.

Well, sort of. You know some boys that are actually pretty nice, as much as they can be. They're still boys, after all. You get on well enough, despite the divide between genders.

Of course, your interests aren't the only things setting you apart. There's something about you that just seems different, though it's hard for you to put words to it. You might be able to if you were older, but for now, the true meaning escapes you.

All you know is, for better or for worse, you're 'special'. Unique. Something else. ...How was it described it to you, again?

(Choose your first trait.)

[ ] Athletic: You're in better shape than most of your peers due to a proper diet and consistent exercise. You feel healthier, too! (+2 CON, +3 DEX. Halves time required for physical-activity based projects.)

[ ] The Veteran: An odd blue device appeared out of the computer last month, along with an egg. It has since hatched, and become your closest companion. (+2 WIS, +3 WILL. Starts out with Digivice and In-Training Digimon.)

[ ] Book Smart: You love sports and all, but reading is just as fun! You might not be the smartest kid around, but it's hardly for lack of trying. (+5 INT. Gains access to higher level academic-based projects.)

Talking to Plants Makes Them Grow
What makes you special doesn't actually come from you personally, as much as you hate to admit it. No, you'd be just an ordinary girl, were it not for one event that changed your life forever.

...Well, you assume it'll be forever. You're not actually entirely sure. It was only a month ago, after all. But what a month it's been.

It started, one day, when two objects fell out of the computer. A blue device, which somehow ended up in your hand and, for some reason, you can't bring yourself to leave it behind anywhere. The second one, though, that's more interesting.

The second one was an egg. One that hatched the next day, into an adorable little seed-like creature that called herself Nyokimon and quickly became your best friend. You fed her, cleaned her, and played with her, and taught her things, which she learned rather quickly. When asked how, she just shrugged her leaves and said, "Digimon learn quick!"

Not that you know what a Digimon is, just that Nyokimon is one. Or, well, the creature that was once Nyokimon. A week after hatching, she glowed, along with your odd device, and changed form. She's a radish now, and calls herself Yokomon.

She's still small enough for you to carry, still the same person, just with a different shape and name.

"Sora, come on! Get up already!" She's also still an incurable morning person.

"Five more minutes, Yokomon..." You mumble into your pillow. It's not that you don't like mornings. It's the fact that your partner, being a plant, rises with the sun. You're starting to get used to it, but you've still got a long way to go.

"But I'm hungry!" And that is the one problem you've had with raising Yokomon. She eats. A lot. Often far more than her body weight. You're not really sure where it all goes, just that it would make most dieters green with envy.

"Fine..." You groan, pushing herself up to prepare for the day. She's probably still not getting her breakfast for a while- one look at your device notes just how early it is, and you don't think you have enough food. It's hard to feed a growing Digimon, especially when so few people know about them.

...Wait... how many people know about Yokomon, again?

[ ] Your parents. While your Digimon is ultimately your responsibility, and you're handling it rather well, it's helpful to have their assistance.

[ ] The Ishidas. Matt found you playing with Yokomon in the park and she forgot toys couldn't talk. It's worked out pretty well, actually. TK's always glad to see the two of you come around.

[ ] Nobody. Yokomon is your secret, and you've kept it well. The two of you don't need to rely on anybody! ...Within reason, of course.

Have a Cute Breakfast Scene
You take your time getting dressed, secure in the knowledge that, even if you can't make anywhere near enough toast for both yourself and your partner, your parents will be waking up eventually, and they actually know how to cook. You're almost afraid of how Yokomon's taste buds would turn out, if not for them. She's already developing a bit of a sweet tooth.

"We're going out today, right?" The little radish asks. You nod. The weather's nice, after all, and there's plenty of places to go, so long as Yokomon remembers to act like a stuffed toy.

She almost forgot it, once. While you don't think the kids your age would bear too much ill-will for such a tiny plant, she's unique enough that you don't want to attract the wrong kind of attention. For all you know, letting out the secret of her existence could bring a government agency to your doorstep.

...Well, maybe not that bad, but there has to be a reason you've never seen another Digimon. Yokomon says she's from a place called the Digital World, but there's no way she's the only one to ever come through.

"Sora! Yokomon! Breakfast!" Your mother calls, and for a moment, all thoughts of secrecy and danger and hidden conspiracies disappear from your mind as you grab the blue device from your bedside and scoop up your partner.

"Coming!"

Breakfast is... certainly a thing. All meals are, with the way that your Digimon eats. Often you have to reach over and pull her away from her bowl before she chokes.

"Yokomon!" You scold, for the fifteenth time since she changed from Nyokimon, "Chew!"

"Sorry..." She mumbles, her petals wilting slightly. "But it's just so good!" And there she goes, back to devouring her third bowl.

Seriously. Where does it all go?

"Thank you." Your mother smiles at the compliment to her cooking. "We'll have to go shopping again this week, I'm afraid..."

Your father sighs. "Well, at least it's not disappearing as fast as when she was... Nyokimon, was it?" You nod in confirmation. Back before she changed form, you were the only one who could understand her, for some reason. She says it's because you're her partner.

You still don't know what that means, but you think it's important.

Your mother seems to take comfort in his words, though you all understand that you need, at the very least, a larger fridge. Your family likes having Yokomon around. The only problem is her appetite.

"I guess there is that. Sora, was there anything you planned to do today?" Of course there is. You told Yokomon, after all.

"Yeah, I...

[ ] ...want to go to the park."

[ ] ...want to go to the library."

[ ] ...want to see Tai and Kari."Still mad at Tai for throwing up in your hat.

[ ] ...want to find out what those dots are."

The Mysterious Radar
"I want to find out what those dots are."

The dots. A mystery that you've been meaning to solve for well over a week now, since you first discovered them. Six in total, with a varying number of them occasionally appearing on your blue device's screen. Never all at once, not so far, but you know that's how many there are, because they all feel different, in a way you can't describe to anyone who may be looking over your shoulder.

"How do you plan on doing that?" Your father sounds concerned. Probably for good reason. You're friends with Tai, after all, and he can certainly be a blockhead at times.

Just recently, he threw up in your hat and didn't tell you until you put it on. You still haven't forgiven him for that.

"Well, it's like a radar," You point out. "I just have to go to one and see what it is, right? I don't even have to get too close." You're aware it could be dangerous. Just because Yokomon can only blow bubbles doesn't mean that nothing your device gets you into could be dangerous.

And even if it is, you'll have your Digimon with you. Yokomon's small enough to fit into just about any bag you have, or failing that, she's gotten pretty good at pretending to be a plush toy.

With that said, you take your device and try to figure out how to see the dots, in order to find out where they are. At least, that's what you'd say, but it comes easily enough to you, though you're not sure how to control the range just yet. Even without the knowledge, you still managed to get it out pretty far.

(Sora has gained the skill: Digivice at +2)

Five. That's how many are in range. The only one missing is the bright one that gives a sense of wisdom and familiarity, as much as you can get from a glowing white-blue dot. Three seeming powerfully radiant, and two less so, though for different reasons.

Which one will you follow?

[ ] The nearest one. Despite being white-blue, it somehow feels... yellow. From it, you get a feeling of faint optimism. It's one of the less radiant ones, carrying a faint trace of youth.

[ ] The other somewhat faint one. It feels faded, like the core part of its power has been stripped away. It carries an air of grief and loneliness.

[ ] The nearest brilliant one. It feels paradoxical, with the best words to describe it being 'calm supported by energy'. Of all the dots, it's the one that confuses you the most, though you get the strongest feeling of intelligence from this one, as well.

[ ] The one in the opposite direction to the rest of them. Just looking at it is enough to give you imagery of fire, though you also receive the feeling of absolute freedom. Something about it seems to resonate with Yokomon, as well.

[ ] The farthest one out, carrying a feeling of intense power. Despite how far away it is, you still find your eyes being drawn towards it. You aren't sure why, but it sort of reminds you of Tai.

Following the Trail of Hope
Well, it's not really a question, is it? The best one to go to has to be the nearest one, because there's no reason to go trekking across town, especially when you're not sure which of the many random ranges you got on this thing. Also, it doesn't give your parents many reasons to object when the thing you're searching for is within walking distance.

...Actually, it's just a few apartment buildings down, isn't it? You probably should have checked this before, especially given how consistent it is. While the other dots appear on and off, the nearest one is always there.

Given the amount of time when you've had the dots to observe, that's not much, but it's a mystery you can solve, and that's good enough!

"There!" You grin, showing the screen to your family. "This one's really close, I could even walk there!" You're not really asking permission. They're both fairly busy, it's not like they could stop you. But it's better for them to at least know where you've gone.

"Can it wait until after breakfast, though?" Yokomon asks. As if you'd even try to get between her and her food. You aren't suicidal. Those bubbles broke your curtains.

"Ishida residence," Yokomon states, clearly. It should annoy you that your partner is better at reading than you are, especially since she's only a month old, but you can't bring yourself to. It just makes her more useful.

Not that you would have needed her to read this one for you. It's not your first time visiting, after all, even if you don't do so this often, and it's the first time since you got your Digimon. Matt's a good friend of yours, after all, and the smartest kid your age you know, even if he's a bit... prickly. The two of you plus Tai have been fairly close since you were all three, though you don't share everything with each other. Not even close.

You've all got others for that. Tai has Kari, Matt has TK, and you have Yokomon. You're pretty sure you've all got secrets you don't want the others to know, though of course there's no way to tell for sure. In a sense, today just confirmed it.

You don't have to knock on the door for very long before it opens. "Oh, Sora! Are you here to see Matt?" His mother. A nice enough woman, though you don't really pay attention to your friends' parents.

"Um... sure!" You grin, because you're still not sure what that dot is, but it's always nice to visit a friend.

When he comes in and sees the device you're holding, though, the happy feeling fades a little. He's not the most fun person- there's a reason you and Tai spend more time together than either of you with him- and today he demonstrates this more quickly than you'd expected.

"Where did you get that?" He asks. Like he knows what it is, or has at least seen one before.

"Why? Do you have one, too?" That radar could be anything, after all.

"Not me. I... come on. This way." He drags you into the apartment, to the room that he shares with his little brother, who you know nowhere near as well as you should- not even a quarter of as well as you know Kari.

No, you definitely need to get to know TK better. If only because of the blue device in his hands and the small white Digimon he's playing with.

[ ] Introduce TK's partner to Yokomon.

[ ] Ask when TK got his device.

[ ] "Matt, why did you never tell me TK had a Digimon?"

[ ] Try not to disturb them.

[ ] Bubble fight!

Baby Steps
As soon as you see that TK has a Digimon, you know exactly what you must do. Reaching into your bag, you ruffle the petals of your own partner. "You want to make a new friend?" You ask, quietly.

"Huh? What do you mean? And let me out already!" Yokomon's voice gets TK's attention, along with his Digimon.

"Sora? What are you doing here?"

"Apparently looking for you," You mutter. Somehow, you can't help but wonder if there's any way you could have seen this coming. "Who's your friend?"

"Oh, this is Tokomon!" He grins as he hugs the little creature close. Matt sighs.

"TK, what have I told you about introducing Tokomon randomly?"

"But it's not random, it's Sora!"

"You're Matt and TK's friend?" Tokomon asks. "It's good to meet you!"

"It's good to meet you, too," You reply, lifting Yokomon out of your bag at the same time. "You look a bit different from my friend, though. This is Yokomon, my Digimon partner."

"Hi!" She jumps down to the white Digimon without another thought. "I've never met another Digimon before!"

"Neither have I," Tokomon admits. The two of them keep talking, proceeding to strike up a fast friendship. It's probably good for them, really, to be able to speak with others of their own kind.

"Since when did you have a Digimon?" Matt asks. You pause. You haven't been around so much recently, and it would probably be bad for him to think you were blowing him off for a plant.

"Um... last month? Sometime then?" You're not that good at putting words together. Fortunately, Matt takes your explanation without too much trouble.

"I was hatched on the fifteenth of March," Yokomon pipes up. "But I'm not sure how long Sora had my DigiEgg before then."

"Three days," You note without thinking. Most stressful three days of your life, honestly. What with your parents discovering you'd been messing about with their computer and all, though Yokomon was well worth being grounded for a week.

"That's the same day Matt and TK got my DigiEgg!" Tokomon realizes. "Well, mostly TK 'cause Matt couldn't understand me as Poyomon, but it's the same thing, really."

Two devices appearing on the same day, both of them with an egg? This is probably important, but you can't think as to why.

"Now all that's left is for Tai or Kari to come around with a partner," Matt comments drily. Which, thinking about it, wouldn't be entirely out of the question. Except...

"No, you live in the same building, remember?" You point out. "And there's only one dot, see?" Now that you know he has a Digimon, the dot close to the middle of your screen is definitely recognizable as TK, though you aren't sure why.

"...Maybe," Matt admits. "But... your parents know about... Yokomon... right?" He trips up over the name. Given that his little brother's partner has a name difference of exactly one letter, completely forgivable. You nod. "And we had to tell Mom and Dad about Tokomon so they could help feed him."

"Yours is a bottomless pit, too?" So it is something about the species, then.

"Least it's not just us..." He sighs. "But it's been a month, and nothing's exploded, so... maybe we should tell him. I'm going to let him know about Tokomon, at least, in case he brings Kari over..."

He may have a point. There's nothing that says Digimon have to be kept secret from everybody, after all. But you're still a bit mad at Tai about the hat thing.

[ ] Go with Matt and tell Tai about the Digimon.

[ ] Stay and let TK and Tokomon play with Yokomon.
-[ ] Have Matt tell Tai about Yokomon.
-[ ] Keep Yokomon secret from Tai.

[ ] Leave Matt and tell Tai yourself.

My Good Friend the Gogglehead
Well, sending Matt by himself would make a terrible impression. And if you want Tai to grovel to you, you sort of need to be there in the first place.

"I'll come, too," You decide. "I mean, we'd want him to at least know what a Digimon looks like, right?"

"....You're going to hit him, aren't you?" He asks, which is just a sign of how long you've been friends.

"You never know, he might just give a really good excuse..."

"It's Tai." And that is a good point. The kid can be dumb as a brick on some days, but you two still listen to him because he's one of the most charismatic people you've ever met.

"I also don't want your brother to think I go around hitting everyone," You point out, gesturing to where TK is playing with the little Digimon.

"But you do go ahead hitting everyone."

"That's besides the point!" You snap. "Come on, Yokomon, we're going to visit some other friends of ours." Your partner immediately runs over to your side. She's not usually this obedient, but you'll take whatever you can get at this point.

"Does Kari count as a friend?" Matt asks, seemingly curious.

"Well, she's never thrown up in my hat."

It's Tai that answers the door to the Kamiya apartment, and the look that overcomes his face once he sees you is the very definition of panic. "Oh, Sora! You didn't say you'd be coming over.... please don't kill me."

"Why's he think you're gonna kill him?" Yokomon asks, not even bothering to keep hidden since you were planning on telling him about her anyway.

"Made the threat once when we were three, he thought I was serious," You groan.

"What, no greeting for me?" Matt grumbles. Honestly, you're sort of glad Tai didn't notice him at first, because those two are just as likely to start fighting as they are to do anything productive.

"...Oh. Hi, Matt." These two. Really, sometimes you wonder how the three of you ever became friends. Whatever sort of past lives you might have had, you're not sure any of you deserve to be stuck with each other like this. "What are you doing here?"

"We... we've got something to tell you...." He mutters. "Well, mostly Sora, but it also involves TK, so... You noticed how her 'toy' just talked right?" You hope he did. Certainly, he can't be that dumb, right?

"I just figured she got an egg out of the computer or something..." Tai admits, which sounds scarily familiar. "Of course, all mine and Kari's says is 'Botamon' and bits and pieces of it, and it's just a piece of black fluff, but... weirder things have happened?"

"That's what it says?" Matt asks. "Can Kari understand it?"

He shakes his head. "No, she just plays with it and feeds it candy. But it just hatched today, so..."

"And you're going along with it?" You sigh and bury your face in Yokomon's petals. When the three of you are together, you sometimes wonder if Matt somehow stole all of Tai's possible intelligence. It would certainly explain a few things. "Did it come with a blue device, or...?"

"A blue device? Why would it come with that?" Well, that explains why this apartment has no dot, despite apparently now being the residence for a Digimon. But this is a problem in and of itself.

Because as much as she admits that your parents have authority, the one person Yokomon defers to on all decisions is you. Without a partner, this apparent Botamon doesn't have anyone to keep it in line.

"Because Yokomon and Tokomon both came with devices," Matt states. "Could we see this... Botamon?" He asks, clearly remembering Tokomon's baby days.

"Um... Sora..."

"You owe me a new hat, Tai." You're proud of how well you're keeping your temper under control. Just last month you'd probably have thrown something at him by now. "Now take me to your Digimon."

Except it's not a Botamon you find when you enter the bedroom he shares with his sister. Not as Tai described it, anyway.

"Didn't he say it only hatched this morning?" Yokomon asks, quiet and maybe a bit scared as the pink blob introduces himself as Koromon. "I don't think we're supposed to Digivolve this fast."

Probably not. Koromon's surrounded by candy wrappers. You can only assume that he Digivolved as part of a sugar rush.

"I think we need an adult to deal with this," Matt decides.

"Adults? What could they do to help us? I mean, I don't think any of us have heard of Digimon before."

"But there has to be someone. This kind of thing doesn't just happen." Matt starts pacing. "I mean, I like Tokomon, but do you know how much furniture he's wrecked with his bubbles? People have to know about them somewhere. It can't be just us."

You agree. That's why you haven't gone around showing Yokomon off to everybody, after all. But even if someone qualified to help with this existed, how would you find them?

[ ] Panic. This can only be a sign of big trouble ahead.

[ ] Go downstairs and get TK and Tokomon in on this. They might not have ideas, but they are really cute, and can help distract Kari and Koromon.

[ ] Come to think of it, you're still not entirely sure what those dots are. Maybe following another one can get you the help you need.

[ ] Ask your parents for help. They're adults, they have to know what's going on, right?

[ ] Give Tai and Kari a lecture on proper Digimon care. This is not how they're supposed to Digivolve!
