Bunraku (Samurai Mecha Quest)

[X] Approach Yoichi, asking to borrow one of his mechanics.

He's not busy with repair and should be familiar with a similar Bunraku model.

[X] Mingle with the ashigaru, looking for people with the right skills.

I just had an idea to take advantage of the fact that no one knows our Banraku can heal.

If we don't remove the ash and charcoal on our armor, and try to walk gingerly, the next time our foes see us they'll think we're barely functioning.

I wouldn't be surprised if they deemed our portion of the formation to be weakest, and thus sent a large amount of their soldiers there.

Then WHAM. Completely repaired Banraku in a prime position to wipe out over confident incoming infantry.

That's not a bad idea although Tomoe will have to give her Vanguard position to (probably) Yoichi in order to make the deception convincing. I mean why would a barely functioning Bunraku be placed in the position of first contact with the enemy? This isn't a bad thing in itself...this enemy seems entirely likely try to strike a weakened rear rather than at the strong front.

At least for now Tomoe doesn't have any enemies in court that can use this to try and smear her reputation.

He has one free, cause he didn't fight/

If we had gone to mingle with the Ashigaru, I would vote for them.

So far, we have once chosen to mingle with nobles over soldiery. We have never shown active disdain for commoners or ashigaru.
I don't think there is enough of a pattern of behavior for acting in character to decide this vote one way or another.

There's definitely a practicality argument against trying to do our recruiting here and now but I believe we have the skills to check the work of any prospective mechanics, and "fix my mech" makes for a damn good interview.
