Bound By Oath And Honor - An ASOIAF Hedge Knight Quest

Fairly solid lead already.

I'm wondering if I should have a voting moratorium in the future, but on the other hand, there's not that much discussion yet.

[X] Plan: Survival of the Squire
-[X] [Ser Orton] Ask for combat training.
-[X] Try to get some armor.
-[X] Rest.

Maybe if we get lucky we'll get a helmet/chainmail for the head (with a padded coif under it of course), gambeson and maybe some Jack chains (aka poor mans chainmail).
Even with bad rolls I'd at least want some head protection since we got a shield for the body.
Also something to not forget is looking for the legs. There is a reason people got leg protection before upgrading their gambeson or helmet.

[X] Plan: A different kind of preparation

Actually this plan seems pretty good. Learning how to ride like our knight wanted. Training with the Armsmen for personal combat. Then Sept for religious experience.

[X] Plan: Survival of the Squire

Rest is more important. The Sept might not help much since we aren't very pious.

I'd rather not die on the battlefield because of our sleep deprived state.

Imo it's less that we just need sleep and more that we need therapy, of which the Sept is the closest approximation we're likely to get.

Also, never underestimate how good of a sleep aid a low droning murmur can be.

Turn 2: Riverrun - Final Tally New
Don't think this will move any more.

I wonder what sort of armor will be available, I know that it will be pretty low tier for Arlan but I've always liked seeing the options when shopping in a Quest.

I'm more worried about getting a semi-decent helmet. Unlike what Hollywood logic dictates, there's no good place to get hit at but head injuries are more dangerous than most other wounds.

Given your financial constraints, you'll definitely not get more than a gambeson and leather skullcap or a bascinet. Armor is expensive.

That's very clearly better than nothing, and frankly at this point we don't have the kind of experience we need in order to be able to easily adapt to particularly onerous armor. Yes, the idea that actually armor was five-thousand pounds and nobody could move in it is weird Hollywood bullshit, but the armor does have weight, and you DO have to train with it to get used to it, so maybe we can work our way up to full armor.

Realistically, most better armor you will likely acquire on the battlefield, provided whoever is in charge of dividing up the plunder likes you enough.

Hi! Just found this quest and really like it so far, from my understanding where are early into the Greyjoy rebellion timeline wise right?
