Born Of An Umbral Star [DxD Quest]

So, I was checking a biblical timeline and noted that the Tower of Babel(Before 2100 BCE) happened after the Great Flood(Before 2500 BCE). We kicked off that way early if it's only 2700 BCE.

The Trojan War was sometime from 1260 BCE to 1180 BCE so given that Heracles fought in both the end of the Trojan War and the Gigantomachy, the later was probably around the same time (unless demigods live for a really long time). The Trojan War was said to be 10 years long by Homer's Iliad not 80 years.

Heracles was before the trojan war. I believe he was specifically the generation of heroes before it. I think all of the Argonauts (Jason's companions) were the generation prior.

[X] Metatron, Messenger of Heaven.
[X] Remiel, Herald of God's Wrath.
[X] Stop the mages on the ground, Baraquiel and his mages are a significant enough force that if they were to keep it up they would not even need Kokabiel to distract you.
[X] Ra's children of the Nile and their human playthings, may the false sun be eclipsed.

As it's been a couple days and votes seemed to have slowed down I'm going to call it at 5:00 pm CST today.

The Argonauts were before the Trojan War but some of them did fight in it too, Heracles was a part of both.
Commenting on the Timeline thing, for all intents and purposes the flood and all of the pre-flood humanity stuff should be taken as happening a long time before the story start, and any other timeline issues such as the tower of babel can be taken as me fudging with the timeline slightly to make it fit with the reign of Gilgamesh.

The Trojan war and other non biblical timeline things I'm trying to keep strait as best I can, but I'm merging together a lot of cultures here, mistakes can happen.

So in terms of raw power, where does Anath stands in the ranking of the Seraphs? Is she one of the weaker ones? One of the stronger ones like Michael and Helel? Is she more or less compared to someone like Azazel? Just wanted to know.

Fighting, you were the most powerful of all of God's great creation for in his absence of your creation you lost the ability to create, replaced only by the power to destroy.

Until you, this position was held by Uriel or perhaps even Helel on those days when his ever-flowing luck would come to pass.

Here is the quote from the second chapter. Anath is exceptional at fighting.

I do wonder will we be able/what it takes to reach those levels of power seen in Father, Trimurti, you know to live up to our reputation of bringer of apocalypse? But I'm fine with small steps for now, small steps...

30 minutes late but vote called, Next update will come out at some point.

Urial, Helel, and Anath are all number 10 on that hypothetical list of top ten's with Anath just edging out both of them due to ingrained instinct, generally the main problem with Angels is that power wise they are more or less stagnant, only able to get better at using what they have and not able to get more then they started with.

Whether that will end up always being the case with Aneth only I know.

I still hope they'd call her Anathema, just because it'd be cool for her to be the origin of the word.
If one stretches it a bit, 'Anath" also somewhat resembles the Hindu 'Anantashesha', which is fitting considering she seems to have unintentionally taken up the role of 'the one who brings the apocalypse'.

Oh ho, time to take those feed the Umbral Star actions.

I would just like everyone to know that in the process of writing a chapter of this story my search history starts to look like the search history of some weeby Neo-pagan cultist.
I have 8 Wikipedia pages open about various ancient religion's and gods, A sketchy website that just has that one part of Revelations, the DxD wiki open, the F/GO wiki open, The Fate Wiki open, and this thread.

I have no Idea how to keep some of this stuff straight in my head at times.

There seems like there should be considerable room for Anath to grow in skill due to her not fighting a whole lot of peer opponents much less stronger ones, which is true for all the Seraphs. Also power at the expense of bonds isn't particularly worthwhile with the reason being those who live long-term are rather useful connections, and doubly so for someone who cannot make her own stuff, which is barring things like Helel falling.

Besides Anath is the in the business of bad civ hating, and being the Scourge of God instead of being higher on a tier list.

Ah speaking of which is Anath ever going to get a suit of armor befitting her new position?

One of the many rewrites of the last chapter had a vote right around where the fight scene is in this one that was just a small scene to justify a vote for if Anath gets armor, I decided to cut it for two reasons one was that it was a criminally short section with out much other justification for being there, the other was because I was unsure how I felt about going even further away from the original Altera design by giving her armor.

If people want it I can try and fit something into the next chapter, but personally I'm still on the ropes about it.

Hm. While I can understand the hesitation from the concept of the quest being about an Altera expy, but I personally have no issue with making changes to improve the quest, and this one would one such change imo.

Besides this way if we ever make it something resembling a modern day circumstance this would allow Anath to walk around without literally everyone freaking out... well if she managed to find a way to hide the wings, and make for some hilarious scenes.

Anath: "Brother Michael do I need to remove the none existent dust from my bad civ smiting armor?"
Michael: "No sister those days are thankfully long over unless our guests disagree?"
Guests: "Nope we're good!"

Armour matters not to me! If you think it can flow well then it should be there and if it does not then it should not. Simple!

... But gauntlet clad hands being unable to feel the blood that covers them, and being unable to search for a pulse due to the armour she wears against the world... Hm.

I find it way more badass if our girl Anath doesn't even need any armor, She's just that tough that it does nothing for her.

Well, when it comes to armor, it could be light but tough enough to take hits that could damage us and lessen it, but on the other hand we won't be as agile. It is a thing to consider...

I agree about not needing the Armor, i mean many gods in mythology don't have it either and not wearing it has its advantages.
What I want is War Gods sword 🗡.
