Born in The Red(Exalted Quest)

[X] For your mother is Tepet Usala, Matriarch of House Tepet. Standing strong mere moments after your birth, she holds you with an indescribable gaze and you feel in her eyes the power of Thunder. You know then, that all eyes will be upon you, all your triumphs and failures to be judged, and all your time to be spent in forging yourself into the perfect Tepet.

[x] Your mother's feeble hands grasp you tightly, while a young man with fiery eyes cradles you both in his arms, features twisted with conflicted emotions and worry.

[X] Two soft pairs of hands take you gently, partially submerged in a pool where the essence is rich and many exotic plants grow as two women grin to each other in satisfaction. The three of you connect, imperceptibly, with one another.

The scent of spring tickles your nose, a fresh sweet aroma that calms you and draws you in. It is rare for love to truly bloom within the matches fostered by the Houses, yet they are not completely unheard of.

Plant child, go!

Hey having two sorceress mothers sounds good to me.
Much more likely only one of them is a Sorcerer, not to mention the possibility neither of them are and they just hired a magic midwife.

We already voted on our aspect when we picked our House; chances are our Mother would be an Air Aspect and our Father a Fire Aspect--probably from a problematic House, with the bit about conflicted emotions and worry. We'll just inherit our Air Aspect matrilineally.

But I suppose I could be wrong.

Depends. Lineage certainly plays a large part to disposition of said Exaltations, though its not be all end all. Disposition, random chance and the other parts of the ancestry play a great part in it all. And Pedigree of course.

Anyways, the disposition of each Household choice is different as is the opportunities, focuses and status. I tried to imply that in the text but I can elaborate a little if people want.

There are 5 aspects though right? Last vote presented only 4 options.... huh so does this one...

Hmm...interesting.

True enough. That option might just lend us towards Fire Aspect, then.

[X] Rai

Tepet Usala is not a warm woman.

With only vague recollections of her in your infancy you can safely say you've hardly spoken a scant few words to each other. More her than you, brief and curt, and cuttingly to the point. You've scarcely interacted with her, for no matter how great your ancestry you are, at the moment but a mortal. A Dynastic Scion of one of the mightiest households in the span of Creation, a natural born Prince that would have kings the world over gnash their teeth with envy, yes, but a mortal still. Until the moment your blood ignites and you become a true dragon, you are merely a curiosity, a tool, a gamble. Reared to either succeed and join the ranks of the demigods or be married off to another house and live a life of shame and indignity.

For that is the way of The Realm, for that is what it means to have the blood of the dragons.

For you are Tepet Rai. Youngest son of the Tepet Matriarch Usala, born in the ancestral city of Lord's Crossing at the apex of a most terrible storm, it was determined a fortunate omen that your First Breath was one presaged by Thunder and Lighting. And from that same very first breath, you could feel the weight of attention upon your tiny shoulders.

You were tended in luxury and reared with the utmost care, but, wherever you went, you could feel the expectation, the eyes upon your back. Judging and waiting for you to- to Exalt. To be graced by the Dragon's blessings and take your place amongst the striding and divine Princes of the Earth.

Nannies, caretakers, and servants were what you saw most of; they took care of you and your whims, made sure you were brought up healthy and...controlled. That you did not indulge in the excesses of your authority, nor that you knew much too little about your due place in the world. "You are a Prince." They say, "Soon enough you'll join your cousins and nieces and brothers among the ranks of glorious demigods of elemental might."

Soon enough.

But for now you are young, far too young to involve yourself in the political intrigue and training required of you. You're allowed a few years of joy and privilege, before duty and preparation take over all of the time available to you.

[DISPOSITION]

Scion of the dragons though you may be, you are still but a child. Free to frolic, to learn and enjoy yourself. Of course, every child is different and unique.Even when very young, one's aptitudes slowly peek through their attitudes and dispositions.

You were, personally…

[] An active child. A bottomless wellspring of vitality, you frolicked and played and zipped from one end of the palace to the other, your nannies barely able to keep up with you.

[] A withdrawn child. You preferred to listen to your caretakers and have them read stories to you, quickly developing an intense curiosity that had you endlessly burying yourself in the pursuits of the academic.

[] The house's darling. Always quick with a word and a smile, you had a knack for getting people to like you. Servants and Mortal Dynasts and even your own elder brothers and nieces. They all fell prey to your charms.

[EVENT]

Your early days were, in great part, as normal as a Dynast's could be. You listened to your caretakers. You heard their lessons about the Faith and the tales of your ancestors, of how The Realm worked by the might and wisdom of the Scarlet Empress, about how it was the Dragonblooded who were divinely charged with safeguarding the order and integrity of Creation against all manner of fell creatures who'd threaten it, and how it was the duty of The Realm to fight Barbarism and bring the light of civilization upon all corners of Creation. To defend the Faith and destroy all that could lead astray the fragile souls of the mortals.

You absorbed the lessons easily, and they resounded through your head even if you were yet too young to fully understand all the topics they talked with. Combined with a steady regimen of basic physical activity, your days quickly passed one after the other… even as expectations mounted for your surely inevitable Exaltation.

Among those countless days, however, one stood out. On that day, you so starkly remember, you...

Uhm, I did not intend the options to stack.

Though I suppose that is the one option that could possibly stack.
