Update 004
First of all, I'm sorry for not posting a chapter today, I've been having problems with my right eye since 3 days ago, it hurts though It's something to the level of lightly scratching yourself kind of pain and sometimes tears would just come out for no reason at all, so yeah, I can't write while my right eye is having problems so expect less frequent updates or at worse, no updates at all, though worry not, I don't plan on dropping this since I do enjoy writing.

ORZ

EDIT: While I'm happy that everyone's wishing me well, keep in mind that just because my right eye hurts doesn't mean that it'll stop me from writing. If and when if this annoyance disappears, I'd go back writing and or if and when if I get bored with literally nothing to do, I'd write.

see if ice bag or a good rest helps sometimes it from over stress of the eye

I've rested now and it feels... ok-ish? I can still feel unnatural heat from my eye as if I rubbed them so I think I'll rest today too, and if by tomorrow I'm feeling good then I'll write...

could be an irritant in the air like mold or dust or fungal spores but im guessing your a clean person so no fungus

I do clean myself properly and I do use glasses and I do clean them, probably just the weather imho, it's weird since I have a runny nose now, and its ridiculously cold at nights and early mornings, mind you it's normally hot here but not real hot.

Depth 086 "Apparently they're related."

"… To summarize, you want us to lie low for a year and then you'll deliver the Commander to us yes? How can we trust your words when you're threatening us within your warship?" Is what Dr. Vahlen asked me, her question made sense though, I mean I for one wouldn't trust someone who's threatening me with a big stick, although she's wrong in one point, I'm not actually threatening her though.

"You don't, although it's completely fine if you wish to die here anyway." Not that I'm going to let that happen, I went as far as manipulating time itself just to keep you alive. "I see… Considering your impeccable timing, it would seem that you know of what conspired at my settlement."

"Yes I do Dr. Vahlen, and tell your Psionic guard to keep his mind on his own lest I drill his out of his tiny little head." Now it wasn't nice that her escort, a well-built bald man with purple eyes that seemingly looks like an ordinary rebel from Half-Life 2 is currently toting his mind onto mine but utterly fails because of my anti-psionic earrings. Dr. Vahlen and her guard stiffened at my apparent knowledge of their psionic capabilities, in fact, Dr. Vahlen herself can use psionic abilities, unlike what the games and novels depicted, it seems that this Dr. Vahlen was able to use psionic powers although her powers are weak compared to her guard. It's like comparing a ping-pong ball to a bowling ball.

The cautious yet audacious Dr. Vahlen composed herself and ordered her guard to stand down, "To think you that even know about it… I truly wonder, who might you—" I cut her off and forced her to choose. "Stop, so what will it be? If you stay here then I'll at least provide boats for you to use." Lies, all lies me.

"… We accept." In which I faked a perked up expression by clapping my hands together and raising the volume of my voice, "Fantastic! Well then, all you have to do is enter the bridge and stay inside!"

"…. Is that is?" Dr. Vahlen genuinely surprised, asked me. "Yes! That's all you have to do and I'll take care of everything else!" Still surprised but she agreed and I lead them inside the ship towards the bridge, inside, unlike what some of them blatantly thought of, was actually a futuristic looking bridge, similar to Iona's I-401 Bridge but larger and better. "T-this is… Amazing… Those are English... These designs are… Human…" Said by the good Doctor.

As the Doctor inspected the entirety of the bridge, I warned her of one thing I purposefully let out. "Ah, Dr. Vahlen, I'm sorry to have not inform you but to meet the Commander, we have to do some space-time travel shenanigans." At Dr. Vahlen's surprise at my words. I 'paused' time in the entirety of my ship-body with the exception of my Mental Model which I dissolved, I modified the bridge to ensure that they'll live in case of stasis failure and they were able to move about inside my D-Storage, although I tried moving my Avatar inside there once, there's no telling what'll be the effects if other living beings than my Avatar.

After I stored the victi— Err, I mean, survivors, I prepared to travel back to the 'present'.

As I turn the tides of time, I couldn't help but think that I may have caused the Avenger's downfall due to my intervention with Dr. Vahlen. A fleet disappears with no warnings? That warrants heightened military presence and aggressive approach. Even I would do that, I'd hate it if one of my fleets, my groups, were to disappear without a trace.

As time transitions back to the present, I scanned the area for any immediate threats, knowing that nothing's waiting to ambush me, I received a signal only I can detect and receive, this signal taught me of the Revenge's coordinates, of course before chronoshifting back to the aerial warship, I redeployed my fleets all over the system, this time Battlegroup 3 is secretly lurking in lunar orbit, Battlegroup 1 in low-earth orbit, Battlegroup 2 ready to support Battlegroups 1 or 3 and to response to any unexpected threats, Destroyer group 1 and Carrier group 1 guarding the Mothership in yet again, Jupiter's Ring.

Once inside the Revenge, I acted as if nothing happened and walked towards the bridge, along the way I came across the guy from Metal Slug that fires energy balls from his hands like a goddamn Saiyan or the guys that uses Hadouken, yes that blonde man is the same within the one in the games, except this one isn't naked with only his boxers but rather, wearing a proper XCOM2 uniform complete with a sniper rifle, along with overgrown hairs in his head, 'what are you a human with a bush as a head?' is what I thought.

POW-kun who's meditating in front of a board dedicated for posting of odd jobs inside the enlarge hallway noticed my gaze. "Ms. Razgriz?" he asked with a surprisingly young voice, "Nothing, just wondering, why you haven't cut those overgrowth off of you?" I asked him back. POW-kun visibly twitched at my question and as if expressing his embarrassment, he wryly laughed and scratched the back of his head. "A..ahaha… Unfortunately, I always seem to forget to cut my hair." When I asked why he said ".. Well… We don't have enough manpower, most of us are working even after returning from ground ops, the only ones not working at all are the injured ones."

That's true, so far everywhere I've been to would always have a guy or two running around carrying stuff or people talking to each other while walking, and the talks would either be about maintenance of a lot of stuff including the ship's or equipment that'll be used on the ground, the other being weapons and armour manufacturing.

"… Want me to cut for you?" Is what I asked him but the man surprised at my words, hesitated and embarrassingly agreed. "Y-yes please…" Since there's no seat here, I asked him to lead me to the nearest place with a chair, he agreed and led me to the cafeteria which was located just a few walks away from the odd jobs board.

People who were inside the cafeteria including the Commander and Central who's on break, the Metal Slug team is also here looking agape at my presence, in turn I merely tilted my head in curiosity and then paid no attention to them as PO— Ah! That's right his name is Hyakutarou Ichimonji…. Wasn't it? Eh, I forgot, I'll just call him POW-kun for the time being.

POW-kun took a chair and placed it near the trash-bin whereas I ignored the surprised gasps of the people around me as I fabricated a sheet of cloth and a scissor, spreading the sheet on the metal floor and placing the seat in the middle, POW-kun reluctantly sat down while wryly smiling at everything and everyone that's looking at us, As POW-kun is already ready, I started cutting his hair into a short trim and when I finished cutting his hair, I just noticed that he looks oddly similar to that guy in Zetsuen no Tempest anime, the one who's the MC's best friends with, that blonde guy…. I forgot his name too. Fabricating another mirror out of nowhere, I handed it to him and walked towards Commander Sophia, casually greeting her, Bradford pre-emptively returned fire with a scowl on his face in which I promptly returned fire by pulling my lower eye lids down with my index finger, closing my left eye and showing a bit of my tongue, a mocking expression in which Bradford growled in anger. 'Yes I disturbed your alone time with the Commander, got a problem bruh?' Is what I thought after confirming my petty not-so-victory-victory.

The Commander noticing Bradford's scowl and growl intervened before something snaps, she asked "Is there something you need?" and I replied with "Yes, I found Dr. Vahlen, I suggest you divert towards the pacific ocean right now, my ship is in there waiting." Abruptly standing up in surprise, she tried to run towards the nearest intercom but I grabbed her shoulders, lightly jerked her right ankle, made her sit down and told her to "Finish your meals first Lady, Dr. Vahlen's not going anywhere nor the ADVENT knows where she is, even if they somehow knew," Which is very unlikely "They're not going to be able to get her from my grasps. You know of my powers and my military powers, don't worry about it, finish that hearty meal first, god knows you need It 'cause you look like a stick that's about to breakdown." She does look very tired with taking control of every operation and managing the Havens.

"I'm not going to hand her over until you've eaten and rested properly." Is what I said before literally disappearing out of nowhere, inside my room in the Revenge, I looked over what I missed while I was gone and it seems like XCOM2 successfully recorded every and all combat data of the ADVENT in west US coast, over there they encountered the ADVENT Mooks, Sectoids, Mutons, Vipers and MECs with the addition of the newly introduced Andromedons, Archons, Sectopods and the Muton and Archon King as well as the Viper Queen.

Then while I was gone, apparently someone or rather, something tried to hack the ship but failed due to my advance electronic defence suite but succeeded in hacking the GREMLIN Lily was fixing, the GREMLIN then accessed the monitors in the engineering bay and showed a bunch of data to Lily, out of reflex she tracked the signal to Sweden, to the Lost Towers. Now XCOM2 sent a recon of 4 soldiers to scout the tower without alerting anyone or anything.

Casually glancing at the Commander, she seemed to have finished eating and immediately took a bath and rested in her room. Hours later after spending my time bullying the Ethereal Fleet in Lunar Orbit via E-War, the Commander who's now awoke, knocked at my door, I opened it and she entered and asked, "… Where's Dr. Vahlen?"

Later on I only found out that Dr. Vahlen and the Commander were step-sisters.

"So they were sisters..." Muttering to particularly no one but Lily, "Yes they were, though it was a complete coincidence, first it was Dr. Vahlen with a different Commander but that one was fired after he lost an entire company of troops albeit regular ones against 4 thin-men and 4 sectoids. Then Commander Sophia came in after she commanded and killed 12 aliens in a ship we shot down, she just had 6 soldiers including herself on a routine transport mission in warzone. Command was impressed with her so they hired her for XCOM, now here she is." Who replied as she mistakenly thought that I was asking a question.

Earlier after the Commander called me out, I asked her to wait for me in the bridge, as she complied, I immediately took control of a 101-class Destroyer, modified her a bit to fit a Nu Yamato bridge inside her and took Dr. Vahlen's group out while keeping them in stasis, from there I contacted XCOM2 and told them that a ship will be coming in to dock with Revenge, even without waiting for a reply or a confirmation, I immediately had my ship de-orbit and descend, as the ship streaked through the sky I fired its thrusters and made sure that it 'fell' right next to the Revenge, as I ignore the surprised Revenge bridge crew, I remote controlled the aerial warship's spinal hangar and opened it, transformed the bottom of the 101-class and had a block descend towards the Revenge's hangar, teleported myself and opened the block revealing the Egghead and her group, I released them from stasis and contacted the Commander and now, here we are, watching a oh-so-heart-warming reunion.

"C-Can… Can I request something Ms. Razgriz?" Oh, Lily Shen requesting something to me? "What would that be?" I asked her. She took a deep breath and continued, "We have located a facility in Sweden that indicates Dad's supposed legacy, Dad'sonce told me that there is something that could help XCOM greatly and that it's hidden in a secret facility, we think that this abandoned facility in Sweden is the one and I would like to have your help in securing… Whatever Dad's left there us." Aaahh, she did saw my space ship, so she probably thought that with my help, her chances of successfully taking Julian would increase. So she doesn't know that the AI has been compromised….

"Sure, though I want to go there myself."

Abandoned ADVENT Tower

And here we are… In this abandoned Rapunzel's tower it's interesting to see this kind of scenery, derelict facilities with overgrowth on them, this kind of apocalyptic view is beautiful.

"Menace 1-5, we are detecting a strange but powerful reading bouncing all over the facility, whatever that is, we'll find all of our answers there." Said Bradford through the Communicator.

Currently the deployed team would be me, Lily Shen, Marco, Tarma, Eri, Fio and POW-kun. With the exception of me, everyone else is wearing heavy armour with an assortment of weapons, as for me, instead of wearing my normal character clothe, I chose to wear a mix of Rathian and Rathalos Armour from Monster Hunter complete with the oversized Katana for no apparent reason other than I just want to. The head piece, skirt and greaves are Rathian while the chest and gauntlets from Rathalos, of course I coloured the armour and the Katana in black with stripes of glowing red.

While I did get some weird looks from everyone, they stopped after I rushed in after landing and literally cut all of the incoming bullets before the derelict MECs whom fired at us got sliced to cubes. Ignoring the surprised looks of the people around me, I told my gun-toting allies to take point.

Once inside, Julian made itself known to us via Intercom and ambushing us with a bunch of MECs, the soldiers including Lily were taking cover after cover as we descend the stairs while returning fire to the old MECs while I casually, at almost-jogging pace, ran around the assembly line cutting MECs after MECs, eventually the team reached the entrance but couldn't enter due to the rubble in the way, with no time to clear it, Julian suggested that we use the lifts for MECs to go above one at a time, at this point I told the team to go ahead.

Jumping back down at the assembly line and taking cover at a nearby crane, I hid while taking fire from the MECs waiting for a chance to strike as they walk and fire, sensing a MEC that got too close, I sprinted out of cover weaving left and right as I evade bullets, I got behind one and sliced diagonally while jumping out of the way as another MEC quickly shifted its fire, thinking that I can't evade in mid-air, the remaining 6 MECs were ordered by Julian to pepper me though they failed as they didn't take into account that I can keep cutting bullets faster than they could fire it.

As I landed, there only 3 remaining soldiers waiting for the lift and 6 no make it 8 MECs around, firing at everything but themselves. A MEC got sneaky and tried to suicide run me but failed as I judo throw it towards its friend, 2 MECs down, I ran towards the walls and made a wall-run before suddenly flexing my legs and springing towards a MEC and cut it down with a swiping attack in mid-air.

2 soldiers remaining. The MECs split up and tried to flank the remaining soldiers, 3 to me and 2 to them, upon seeing that, I pulled my right arm way back and threw the sword imbedding one MEC to the walls in the process while the other one was taken out by POW-kun and Tarma. With no weapons I dove to cover and immediately de-fabricated the Katana and fabricated a gun-lance that fires oversized bolts, think of Gundam Barbatos' mace but longer.

Side-stepping away from cover as I notice a MEC primed its self-destruct systems and made a run towards me, I cheated and teleported 5 meters away from it and fired spikes through it several times, then I shifted my weapon's fire to the one near the soldiers and pulverized it.

Another 3 MECs came in, 1 soldier lifted up and Tarma waiting, I ignored the incoming fire and sprinted straight to Tarma, while bullets did hit me, they won't pierce my shields, I ignored the surprised Tarma, pick him up like a cat and jumped up the lift.

"GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"

"It goes without saying but you are walking into a trap. Try not to damage yourself too much Lily."

As Tarma calmed down from the fear with no thanks to me, as Eri spotted and pointed out the two turrets up in the stairs, Julian continued.

"Ah yes, that's the trap I was referencing earlier." Julian.

"Shen, is there a mute button for this thing?" Asked Bradford who's now starting to get grumpy.

The rusty turrets activated and started firing at us while XCOM2 forces took cover and returned fire. As I casually stood behind a pillar, I saw ROVER, Shen's lil' bot, sneakily flew towards the turrets, used his Capacitor Discharge and took out both turrets almost immediately.

We started to walk cautiously while having two soldiers watch the rear. As we walked up the stairs, we noticed a room, a control room of sorts with a disabled MEC in the middle and wires connected to it. We entered the room, Tarma and Marco first then Lily, POW-kun and me next while Eri and Fio stood guard outside the room.

"Second only to my own creation, Father had one other breakthrough, a prototype. Unlike anything unlike anything that the world had ever known, a body meant to be paired with an equally adaptive mind. My own." To which Lily calmly replied with, "If that were dad's true intentions, it would've happened by now." And Julian returned with "Perhaps today is that day Lily."

"Yet activating the body is difficult, even for me. Father made it so that only he or you can unlock the potential of this design. Now, you alone, can activate the prototype you alone can free me."

"Why the hell would we wanna do that?" Bradford retorted.

"Yeah put in the… Crazy AI in a body… That's a great idea, what could possibly go wrong?" An unexpectedly sarcastic remark from Marco, which made Eri, possibly due to her Japanese blood, retorted "Wha! You just had to jinx us don't you Marco!" and delivered a smack to Marco's head. "Ow!"

"Don't let your allies dissuade you Lily, activate the body and you can still go home, I am not ADVENT and it matters nothing to me if you save your world."

"Says the guy who keeps sending automated defences to kill us." Said POW-kun.

Lily walked up to a MEC with the designation of 'SPARK' and spoke, "So this is it, what that… Thing has been ranting about." But when Lily tried to touch the MEC's head unit, "You've come this far, all you need to do is link my systems for the transfer, there is no need for further conflict." Julian's… Face showed up in the nearby touch-screen pad complete with a hand-scanner.

"Shen… Tell me you're not actually listening to this thing." Bradford lightly sighed.

Lily touched the MEC's torso, feeling the metallic armour upon the MEC, reminiscing her Father's moments. "This was… Definitely Dad's design." Then all of a sudden, the chest piece opened and showed a scanner inside, SPARK turned on and identified Lily correctly. "IDENTITY: SHEN, LILY. AWAITING IMPRESSION."

"Chief!"

"Whoah! Chief watch out!"

Marco and Tarma pointed their weapons at SPARK and tried to take Shen away "Don't!" but Shen stopped them instead. And Julian, shocked upon the revelation and denied it, he didn't want to acknowledge it. "No! Impossible! THIS CANNOT BE WHAT FATHER WANTED!"

And Shen calmly replied, "Something tells me that this is exactly what Dad wanted." And then she touched the scanner in SPARK's chest piece. "IDENTITY CONFIRMED, INITIATING BOOT PROTOCOL."

SPARK fully activated. Flexed his limbs and stood up. "NO! I WILL NOT ALLO—" Julian tried to interrupt but a recorded message threw him off the line and a video recording of Raymond Shen played.

"Lily, if you are seeing this message, it means that you have successfully activated the SPARK prototype, it also means that in all likelihood I am no longer with you. It was always among my greatest fears that I would leave you alone in this world."

Lily replied with sorrow while holding her tears back. "You didn't."

I had hoped this day would never come. But since the loss of the Commander, the XCOM project has… suffered greatly. Our latest reports indicate that we cannot hold this base much longer. To that end, I have accelerated the development of the SPARK robotic prototype. I believe that someday this machine will prove pivotal to humanity's survival. Though the unit is not ready for manufacturing, this prototype has been coded for one specific task."

"It will protect you, perhaps better than I ever could. For all I have seen and accomplished in this life Lily, there is one thing I know for sure, that you are my greatest gift to this world."

Lily finally couldn't hold her tears and it flowed down to her cheeks, but she didn't cry. She held herself together saying "Ok, SPARK let's get out of here." To which SPARKY replied with "Affirmative."

And then suddenly a hissing sound made itself known to us as a green gas starts to fill the entire floor.

"Shen! That thing's flooding the building with some kind of gas, I suggest you leave, now." Bradford informed us of the change in the situation to which Julian, calmly informed us of what the gas could do.

"An extremely powerful and very painful gas. I have seen this gas reduce Berserkers and Mutons to tears before death. The prototype would still be mine."

SPARK noticing the gas he informed us of the safety inside the room. "Imminent threat detected. Activating clean room protocols. Please remain inside for your protection." And the Commander barked an order. "All units be advised, ID SPARK as ally and follow SPARK's instructions regarding the gas."

Eri and Fio who's outside and watching the surroundings immediately ran inside the room and closed the door while Tarma and Marco went to the other door and kept it shut.

"Detecting secondary life support system nearby. This gas presents no hazard in my systems, attempting to neutralize threat." Sparky informed us.

Lily, impressed by Sparky's immediate action approve him "Starting to like SPARK already."

"I wouldn't get used to this its company as I fully intend on walking out of here in that body."

"Shut up AI! Nobody likes you!" Retorts Marco and Eri yet again played the straight man, "Shut it! Don't provoke the obviously crazy AI that can kill us!"

A turret, no, four turrets ascended from the floor platform erected as started firing on us in an attempt to kill us, the organics took cover and Sparky used his overdrive ability and ran outside, towards the turret. With no weapon on him, I followed Sparky and ignored the distressed call of the others, ride upon Sparky's shoulder and acted as Sparky's impromptu turret.

"Sparky, I'll be fine so point me where to shoot at." Sparky took cover and looked to me, scanned my body which showed no sign of damage and agreed to my proposition. "Affirmative. Designating Hostile Targets." As he points his finger towards the nearest turret in the right as pointing is faster than speaking. I obliged and held my gun-lance at my left arm and fired two spikes, one hit the base of the turret while another hit the gun barrel.

The others stuck inside the control room provided covering fire under the Commander's orders while Sparky advance with me firmly stuck on his left shoulder and him holding me in my waist as to prevent me from falling.

Another round of turrets were deployed to flank the guys at the control room which prevented them from providing covering fire to us but it matters not as Sparky pointed me to another turret which I promptly wrecked, then another and another and another. As the defenders that were destroyed 2 MECs were deployed to prevent us from accessing the ventilation system. I jumped towards the one on the left, smacked it down with my lance and shot it while Sparky rammed the other one, ripped its arms off and took the MECs rusty Heavy Autocannon and used it with maximum effectiveness. "I'll cover you Sparky, go get the vents." As I stood boldy in the front while firing spikes after spikes to the ones flanking the guys at the control room.

"Atmospheric controls, restored. Ventilation systems at 100%. The floor will be safe for traversal in 1 minute." Sparky then turned back and stood beside me and together we fired spikes and bullets to the ADVENT turrets and MECs that just started appearing one after another.

"Spark, Fairy 1, cover the team." Said the Commander to which we complied silently. As the gas were cleared away, the team made a run down the stairs and towards me and Sparky. I noticed the lifts that the MECs used to ambush us.

"Use the MEC lift system to go up straight to the rooftop, Sparky deal with it." I ordered Sparky which he readily complied. "Affirmative."

"Thank you for announcing your next move. And you tell me that I am the flawed one?" Snarky Julian.

"Obviously yes, just so you know, I could've ended your entire existence with just a flick of my hand lil' Jully so do me a favour and shut the fuck up." I snarked him and hacked and instantly stripped him of his defence systems which scared him instantly and shut him up as he rebuilt his defence systems.

Sparky and I covered the team until were the only ones left in this floor, then I rode Sparky's left shoulder as he used the lift. Leaving the surprised and silent Julian behind.

Depth 089 “Lost Tower III and the Key”
Depth 089 "Lost Tower III and the Key"

As we reach the top floor Bradford informed us that Firebrand is on approach and that we need to hold out until then.

"I assure you that that gas was a far more pleasant option than what I have prepared for you now." What the…. You bastard, you still have the guts to speak like that even though I just stripped you of your dignity you little shit? Fine then.

"Copy that Bradford, we'll take up a corner and hold." Lily ran up to a corner filled with high cover and the others followed in pursuit.

"You do realize that I can hear you right? Sending units to your location." Julian spoke as he let out a sigh. "Try not to bleed on my new body."

We moved in, took whatever cover we can take and waited. "Allow me to introduce you to a more effective ADVENT design, this weapon proved to be a little too effective for your world's military 20 years ago, and now, I will use it, if I cannot have the SPARK then no one will!"

Room on the other side of the rooftop, one containing a Sectopod, activated and the warmachine stood up, rammed the room to get out and started firing wildly on us. We took cover and tried to return fire but whenever one of us pops our head out, a magnetic round is already on the way, Fio barely avoided one and now her hat's been shredded.

"Firebrand here, I'm already next to the building but I'm not ascending until you take that thing out, those Sectopods can take entire platoons of tanks all on its own and win, I'm not taking any chances, take that out and I'll get you out."

The whistling sound of the intercontinental transport craft stayed just below the roof to avoid getting shot at. I on the other hand de-fabbed my weapon and re-fabbed my Katana, I stood in front of the sectopod with an overhead striking stance, enhance my blade with plasma and started cutting down incoming magnetic rounds.

I used my E-War suite and shut down the building's lift systems to prevent enemy backups from coming and muted Julian out of annoyance.

"Get out of here, Firebrand, ascend, a 101-class space destroyer will cover you." I informed the team to which they complied as soon as they saw an oversized space destroyer menacingly flew and fired missiles as well as guns in the MECs that are flying upwards.

"HOLY SHIT THIS IS CHAOS!"

"GET DOWN!"
"MOVE MOVE MOVE! GET INTO COVER AND WAIT FOR FIREBRAND!"

"This is Firebrand! I can't land so this is as close as I can get! Jump in the pad you can make it!"

I on the other hand, rushed forward and tried to cut the sectopod's right leg but unexpectedly failed as the sectopod used its piston to jump and evade, it fired not at me but at the team of which I immediately countered with a precision laser battery aimed to evaporate the incoming magnetic rounds.

"FUCK!"

"THAT'S HOT! LIKE REALLY HOT EVEN THOUGH IT'S AN ABSURDLY THIN LASER!"

"I'm on board! Eri! Fio! Jump!"

I sprung up and slashed the gun on top of the Sectopod and kicked it down, the walker smashed down and cracked the floor, I kept on hitting the downed sectopod and the ground kept on creaking dangerously.

"We're all in! Get us out of here!"

"What about Ms. Razgriz!?"

"I'm fine. Go ahead."

I gleefully hit, not slice, hit and smash the sectopod until the floor gave out due to my unbelievably strong and heavy strikes, as my last strike hit, the Katana broke, upon seeing that, the team out of the building and Firebrand flew not far away, I directed the 101-class destroyer, made it ascend and had it ram the entire building downward, I fired one missile aimed not at the transport but right next to it, I rode the missile back to the transport craft.

Inside the transport, I merely sat down and watched the glorious explosion as my ship ascended back to its parent group.

"Jesus Christ! Next time you tell us when you're about to pull a stunt like that!" Shouted Eri.

"Nope."

"Wha?!"

Days have passed since Sparky joined the crew, and boy he was welcomed quite well, this armour saved the hides of countless soldiers on the ground and on board he helped the engineering team, he increased their work efficiency and productivity twice while Bald-gan was happy to work with Dr. Vahlen, too happy that it's quite suspicious in a lot of ways, even the Commander showed concern for her sister when she heard that they were quite 'too close for comfort' as she stated.

According to the game lore, the next step is hacking a CODEX which still doesn't happen as the CODEX are adamant in staying inside their network which forced me to provide Intel to XCOM2, a location of a lone and hidden ADVENT cloning base with a gate in Africa, with a Psi Gate over there, the CODEX will be forced to deploy once all defenders are destroyed to make sure that they'll deploy, I'll hack the Psi Gate and quantum lock it, they can use access it but can't activate it, this'll force them to get out and destroy the gates themselves which will give XCOM2 the chance to hack a CODEX, if they failed then I'll be taking the Ethereals seriously and will invade Earth.

We waited for weeks until the cloning base send out another shipment of ADVENT and Sectoid clones, once they've been cleared outside the facility, Revenge descended from the clouds like an angry lightning god and smite the convoy with its laser.

As the remains of the convoy burns, I hacked any outgoing transmission from the base to prevent them from requesting reinforcements from nearby base, of course I plan to release the hacking to ensure that the CODEXs will notice the attack and thus respond if the Gate would be captured.

The ground team together with Sparky was deployed and a team of 8 plus 1 machine raided the cloning base as part of the first wave while another 8 were deployed in the second wave, and another 8 following, I made sure that XCOM2 will want this base as I told them that there is a Psi Gate here that connects to the place where the Ethereals are.

The raid went well with ADVENT loosing 103 soldiers, 13 Sectoids, 11 Andromedons, 15 Mutons, 2 Berserkers, 9 Vipers, 4 CODEX, 20 Chryssalids and 1 Muton Queen… or King, frankly I don't know its gender. XCOM2 casualties are 5 soldiers and 13 wounded. All the Metal Slug members are fine. The CODEXs also fell for the trap but unfortunately all of them were killed and none were jacked, then the XCOM2's ground science team lead by Dr. Vahlen tried various means to send probes inside the gate of which I activated but failed as an organic 'key' is needed for entry.

The XCOM2 also gained Intel about the 'Blacksite' facility where a 'supposed key' is located, a lie weaved by me as I subtly hacked the facility during the fighting.

With the bold decision of leaving half of their forces to occupy the Cloning base, XCOM2 departed to secure the key, with the help of the resistance in the local area, they were able to guide the ground team near the facility, fighting ensued and the resistance members assisted in fighting, inside they discovered the horrors of ADVENT's experiments and recovered the vial.

On the ship Bald-gan together with the help of Dr. Vahlen, worked non-stop to analyse the vial, they figured that this vial is merely part of the key. And further analysis reports of another facility called 'Forge' which contains another part of the key, an alien in a containment suit similar to the suit the Commander was found inside of.

And so the Commander and XCOM2 embarked to yet another alien facility. Again. Damn Aliens and their love for their facilities! Can't they just build everything in once place!? IS IT SO HARD TO DO THAT?!

Aensland Imperium – Present

"And so after that, XCOM2 got in touch with the resistance HQ to replenish their numbers as th—" My story telling was put into an abrupt end as Felicia took my attention with her not-so-silent voice.

"Ojou-sama Ojou-sama. Lilith Oujo-sama has fallen asleep." Said the brunette catgirl. I looked down only for me to notice that Lilith has fallen asleep in my lap while Felicia gestured a 'shh'.

Myuel silently walked next to Felicia and corrected her with a low voice. "Fel-chan, it's 'Your Majesty' or 'Your Highness' not Ojou-sama." Noticing her mistake, the brunette slightly panicked and wryly smiles while scratching her ears, her cat ears. "Ehehe…"

As Lilith soundly slept on my lap, I gently ran my hair on her golden hair. I closed my eyes and kept on gently patting her, I gestured for the girls to silently leave as to not disturb Lilith's sleep.

Well the rest of the story is simply just XCOM2 killing and raiding ADVENT forces and eventually the Commander taking on the Ethereals' Avatar with XCOM2's own Avatar, since that was the end game I also participated only just to keep the gate open so the Commander and her forces can safely get out as well as me hacking their supercomputer located at the fortress, I hacked it, got all of the tech I wanted, planted a plasma bomb as powerful as the Tsar Bomba in a relatively small package with an unbelievably tough exterior and detonated it once we're outside.

XCOM2 AU, XCOM2 HQ, Pentagon

Inside a sound-proof and leak-proof room, 4 humans are gathered, there are 2 women and 2 men, the identity of these humans are Dr. Vahlen, the Commander's step-sister and XCOM's chief science officer, Dr. Tygan who's another chief science officer, Bradford, XCOM's the Commander's aide and right-hand man and last but not the least, Lily Shen, XCOM2's Chief Engineer, these four are gathered for a secret meeting and they seem to have reached a conclusion.

"Majority wins, 3 yes and 1 no." Announced Bradford. "I still can't agree, I strongly suggest that we should not aggravate her." Dr. Tygan made his opposition known to the team, for the nth time.

"Dr. Vahlen, I know that you know how powerful she is, why fight her? ADVENT's collapse means the end of their tyrannical regime and I'm happy that it happened but their fall also means the collapse of order, right now even the hidden US government is having a big problem trying to kept everything running and they're barely holding together, just one nudge is enough to destabilize the whole situation." Added Tygan.

"Dr. Tygan, I understand your opinion and I respect it, but we can't have the Alien to keep that kind of power, that kind of power needs to be destroyed for the good of not just mankind but for every living species in the galaxy, if there's still some left. Surely you do not mean to have another Alien regime to rule us." Countered the German scientist. Bradford then joined in and added only fuel to the fire. "Vahlen's right Tygan, think about it, now that the Ethereals are gone, what if she wants to rule? While she did say that she's not interested in ruling us and helping with the post-collapse relief efforts, we can't let that kind of power go un-check, and remember, it's her fault that the Commander's bed-ridden."

"Commander Sophia is currently in coma, the battle didn't took toll on her body but it certainly took toll on her mind, the combined mental might of the Ethereals were something that humans, even using something as powerful as the Avatar, can't handle, Miss Razgriz, merely concerned herself with hacking the Alien Fortress' data-banks for their technology and while she did help in keeping the gate open long enough for us to recover the trapped Commander's mind, she still let this happen even though she could've toppled over the Alien Regime herself at the beginning. We can't let her roam free." Lily, who's rarely angry, showed anger in her face, Lily can't believe that she trusted the Commander's safety to the Alien, while she's thankful for her help with SPARK's case, her anger got the hold of her due to the fear of losing another family member.

Tygan absorbed their opinions and respected them for he too would like to keep the Alien's powers in check, he knew how powerful she is and that she's an unstable element, something that can't be predicted hence this whole vote happened. But he himself was thankful for the Alien, if it weren't for her assistance, XCOM2 would've been long gone and hope for humanity would disappear altogether. Tygan let out a defeated sigh. "Very well then, I only ask of you to keep your battle with her as far as away as possible, the public is still reeling from the damage and they won't appreciate getting caught in the crossfire."

The meeting concluded and it was decided that it was time to put the Alien, Ryven Razgriz-Aensland, down and out.

And so they mustered their best and only their best, they quarantined and quadruple checked the Revenge for any sign of tapping but couldn't find one, nevertheless, they didn't let their guard down around and inside the ship, they took her out in the guise of 'rendering assistance to the people of Europe' but in truth, they were going to Africa, where the Alien was located, the Alien is currently 'inspecting' a Psi-Gate located there and their forces over there made sure that she's occupied until they arrive.

They were confident that they could take the Alien out, and so they charged the bottom mounted Laser cannon and kept it charging and hidden, waiting for the right time to strike. Two ground teams were deployed secretly in advance with another one still preparing for launch within the Revenge, these elites were already in the facility where the Alien is located and they're only waiting for the signal, once the signal was given, a laser strike would target the Alien and once it dissipated, the ground team would move in to check if the target is down, and if not, kill it.

The Revenge soon appeared in the bright cloudless sky of Africa and fire her bottom mounted laser at the facility, the laser struck true and hit the Alien right in the face, when the laser dissipated, the ground team moved in only to be killed as soon as they neared the wrecked facility, no one knew what happened but the ground team, all 20 of them died.

No weapon were fired and no blade sliced them so how could the elite ground team just up and died? The answer is simple, portals.

Once the smoke disappeared, countless numbers of circular disk so thin that it's almost invisible if viewed in the sides, these disks appeared right in the middle of the ground team and disappeared as quick as they appeared, once the wind hit the bodies, they fell with their torso cleanly cut in two.

Revenge's bridge flickered twice before the view on their screens changed, it was the Alien and now she successfully hacked the Revenge. "So this is how you repay me? Very well then, don't regret it you rats." And as quickly as she appeared, she disappeared even on the ground as if she wasn't there in the first place. Razgriz herself knew that this might happen so she prepared a farewell gift for them.

XCOM2 spent weeks scouring for the Alien until one day, a 3 kilometre long spaceship appeared in Earth's orbit, the ship shifted and its bow faced the Revenge who's currently flying above Europe, and all of a sudden, Revenge's port wings disappeared inside a bright pink pillar of light.

"We've been hit! The entire right wing is gone Sir!" barked one of the officers inside the bridge. "We're losing power! We lost half of the ship's engines in that strike! We are going down!" he added. "Abandon Ship! Get parachutes and jump if you have to but make it quick!" Bradford the professional he is, didn't contemplate but immediately issued an order as soon as he received the report. Now everyone is scrambling for their lives taking each and every parachute left and jumping outside.

Some weren't lucky, there were people who couldn't evacuate as they were caught in the series of explosion that occurred soon after they've been hit and some were plainly left behind as there weren't that many parachutes to begin with. Soon another pink laser of doom struck the falling Revenge and her body now had a hole in the middle of it. The aerial warship exploded violently in mid-air and some of the debris even hit the parachuting survivors out which instantly killed them some were unlucky as they were hit by the debris and now they've lost a limb or two.

While Firebrand was able to evacuate Dr. Vahlen, Lily and all of the Metal Slug crew, Bradford cursed at the Alien as he saw his people died in front of him and him not being able to do anything.

Soon they were able to gather the surviving crew and was able to evacuate, although they lost 32 people during their stranded period and 12 more died inside the ambulances that tried their best to deliver the wounded.

A week has passed since then but an even bigger problem showed up, the ADVENT remnants were rallied under the remaining rulers, the Archon and Viper rulers, under their banner they wage a bloody war of attrition to the humans and was able to secure a cloning base in Iraq, there they consolidated, increased their forces and slaves then wage yet another war against the humans, the humans were then forced to evacuate the entirety of the middle east and north of Africa while they abandoned south Africa in favour of holding the ADVENT remnants in Europe and Asia.

And after that… After that Razgriz left them to wage war on themselves and she left after restoring the remaining rulers from their endless drooling and raging mess into a completely sapient warlords. In the end, nothing really changed.

The Mother and Daughter slept soundly. It was at truly heart-warming scene to look at and everyone who happened to see this, smiled at quietly left them.

AN: Thanks for reading! As always if you spot any errors may it be grammar, spelling or a sentence or two not making any sense, comment it and I'll fix it as soon as I can.

dumb fucks shouldn't of betrayed her it may sound evil but i might do the same thing as her if i was betrayed and had all she did fuck em ya help ppl and all ya get is a lazer to the face

Xcom's betrayal here makes no sense. Razgriz showed them the fleets she commands, and her ability to construct equipment. She likewise informed them that she is a ruler of a sovereign entity, backed by said fleets and technological superiority. Even if they considered that a lie and she was nothing more than some low ranking officer, attacking her would achieve NOTHING, and just bring the fleets on them.
The reasoning that they can't let her run loose, can't be applied either for the same reasons.
The idiot ball is just to heavy in this one.

Insanely long Rant that may or maynot make sense.

I like to think that the xcom was too xenocist and had decided to kill SI because of being xenocist or capture her so they can dissect her to gain infomation because they think she is a 'low ranking officer'. So that when the real alien 'mastermind' from space (which is herself) comes they have appropriate retaliation to destroy the fleet. Because they are to xenocist. And Xcom thought like to rationalize that a powerful being should hold their fucking hand with saving their goddamn dirtball that they hated the SI even when told that she(?) is just there to FUCKING watch their FUCKING struggles in real life BLUNTLY. *sigh* eh idiot humans are idiots can't even be grateful for what little help that she gave.

If you are wondering than yes I am writing on my phone.

Revenge. SI let all of the fighting with the Ethereals all to the Commander even though it's happening in front of her. Although she won, now she's on a coma and Bradford, Vahlen and Shen wants payback. Also, can't beat that good ol' Xenophobia.

every one other then the MC get an idiot ball to show how glorious and perfect the SI is
How? I went as far as portaying her re-starting the war to specifically show that she's not perfect. That she's as selfish as everyone else and is sometimes irrational.

No.
Should Razgriz not have arrived to save the Avenger, Xcom would have died then and there. Everyone knows that, especially the 3 mentioned. And Razgriz did say outright what her goal is, and how she intends to reach it.
She also did provide support in a number of situations despite not needing to, so with everyone hearing her speech about not interfering, shed get positive points for doing this.
And despite all the Xenophobia, even assuming that they could engage a new alien species, Razgriz is not hostile to them. And as members of a government agency (global) they have to still uphold a level of competency and mindedness.

Ahh... Hm, I see. Ok then, lesson learned I guess.
