Black Knights, Arknights

Awesome chapter.
Well the Demon is back.
Hope Lelouch uses his Geass with more creativity this time.
Like, if he gets Clovis under Geass, ask him for all the codes to access his bank accounts and other stuff.

Small grammar error. Purchase.
Will fix soon.

Also, since someone asked this on FFN, the Ashford cast, for the most part, doesn't have Ancient Traits (the animal parts that most Arknights characters have) - Milly made them wear them after she saw Lelouch's horn and halo. She doesn't know that those are real.

You had to do it to set up Lelouch having the Geass but it's pretty galling that actually trained Operator Lelouch still fucks up the same way with having his phone on audio in a combat zone.
TBH I never actually put any though into having him have his cover blown in any alternative methods. Though unlike in my other stories, I was going to hand wave it as him not having a communicator on hand and needing some way to keep in touch with RI when he got out of the tunnel.

Defense of Shinjuku
Lelouch admired his handiwork for a moment longer, before turning his attention back to the green-haired girl. Wordlessly, he pulled out a Rhodes Island emergency transponder and placed it on her arm. She appeared to be dead, but the Emperor and the High Priest had both proven that looking dead was not the same as being dead.

Suddenly, a Knightmare charged through the wall. After a moment of confusion, she turned her attention toward the former prince.

"And what is a private doctor doing here of all places?"

"I order you to come out at once!"

"Just who the hell do you think you are to order me?"

So it seemed visual contact was needed to use his power. Oh well. He always had a backup plan.

"My name is Allen Spacer, and my father's a duke. My ID card's in my breast pocket. When you've verified who I am, I'd like to request your protection."

Lelouch did actually have an ID in his breast pocket, but that was just an excuse to get her out of her Knightmare so that he could use his new power to force her to relinquish her knightmare, something she fell for hook, line, and sinker.

Boarding the machine, Lelouch briefly considered shooting the woman, but decided against it - if only because he would've hit the green-haired girl as well.

About a minute after he left, Viletta Nu wondered what the hell had just happened.

At the Ashford Academy girl's locker room, the swim club was getting in uniform for their next practice. Shirley Fenette, a member of said club, had just finished putting her suit on when she received a phone call - and from the last person she had been expecting, too.

"Ah, Lulu? What in the world have you been doing? Where are you now? If you keep cutting class, you'll get held back."

"Are you near a tv?" asked Lelouch.

"A tv?"

"Sorry, this is important."

"Hang on," stated Shirley, making her way over to her clubmates' portable televison. "Hey, could you change the channel?"

"Huh?" asked one of the girls. "To what?"

"The news," said Lelouch, which Shirley relayed to her companions. "Is there anything about Shinjuku?"

Shirley observed the program for a moment. "...Nothing except for traffic restrictions."

"Why is it restricted?"

"They aren't saying."

When Lelouch didn't answer, Shirley immediately became suspicious. "Oh, you're gambling again! Don't you remember what happened last month because of your gambling habit?"

"Yes, I do Shirley," spoke Lelouch, in an oddly calm voice. "But that's not why I am calling."

"Then why are you calling?"

"I've been asked to perform my Art ahead of schedule."

All of the other girls were confused by this remark, but their thoughts soon turned to alarm when they saw the color seem to drain from Shirley's face. Oddly, her horn ornaments went from limply curling to standing strait up on her head alongside the loss of color in her face.

"...Oh," went Shirley, voice sounding dead.

"Yeah. I'm sorry about that."

"No, its fine. Should I tell Nunna and Sayoko that you will be home a little late?"

"I think my boss already told them."

"Okay. Oh, and stay safe...Zero."

The last word was said so softly that no one but Lelouch heard it, who smiled softly at her response.

"Of course I will, Merrow."

XXXXX

Hanging up, Lelouch observed the battlefield around him. Japanese civilians were running in terror, with many already being directed underground by people Lelouch recognized as Azazel staff - be it the infected or numbers, they would treat any who were oppressed, as well as those who belonged to the oppressors' class but showed sympathy to the oppressed.

"Hello, Zero?" asked a familiar voice. "Do you copy?"

"Yes Doctor, I copy. What's happening?"

"Clovis has mobilized his entire royal guard. and he's officially given orders to kill everyone in Shinjuku. We've mobilized all available combat operators, but it's going to take a little bit for everyone to get there."

"I see. We need to get a force up now to help stem the tide."

"Correct. I do not wish to put the freedom fighters who started this under too much stress, but could you convince them to assist us?"

"I was already planning on doing that anyway, actually."

"Splendid. By the way, your friend in the red glasgow is nearing a train carrying additional Sutherlands. Closure is transmitting me the access codes now."

A predatory smile crept on Lelouch's face. "Excellent. Can you give me the channel that the terrorists are using?"

"Already on it."

XXXXX

Kallen wondered when things had gone wrong today.

Then she remembered when Tamaki screwed up Naoto's plan, and found her answer.

Still, that didn't exactly make her happy, especially since she was now being chased by a pair of Sutherlands, lead by one Jeremiah Gottwald (not that she knew who he was).

And she only had thirty minutes left on her energy filler. Damn it!

'The West Entrance. Use the tracks to move toward the West Entrace.'

Kallen's eyes widened in surprise as the new voice filled her comms. "Who are you?"

'That doesn't matter right now. If you want to win, follow my directions.'

Kallen's eyes widened yet again. "To win?" Instantly, Kallen's attention was hooked, and she obeyed the commands offered, jumping onto the nearby tracks and continuing her retreat.

'Excellent, it seems that your victory is now assured. There is an oncoming train, jump onto it. Don't worry about your pursuers, I have someone en-route to deal with them.'

Kallen heeded the voice's advice. As she wondered about who that help was, she noticed that there was an odd sound filling the air, as if someone was using a jet plane nearby. The source soon revealed itself as what appear to a girl with a...dragon tail?...and a strange looking mask. Also, she wielded some kind of sword.

And she was wearing a jet-pack. Somehow.

Kallen watched as the girl raced behind her, where it soon became apparent she was on a collision course with one of the two Britannian Knightmares following her. As Kallen tried to turn back to save the girl, one of the enemy Knightmares fire a slash harken at the girl...which she promptly blocked with her sword. The girl followed it up by pointing her blade at the Sutherland, which instantly burst into flames.

The other Britannian pilot stared at this in shock, only to take fire from someone in the distance. Sensing defeat, Jeremiah ejected - they'd one this skirmish, but the battle wasn't over yet.

Kallen just stared on in shock for a moment, before noticing the girl making her way toward her. "..Just...who is that girl?"

"She'll tell you soon enough," spoke the mysterious voice from before. Oh, and while I have no interest in revealing my name just yet, call me Zero. Your friends are on the way, and the tools for your victory are within that train."

Sure enough, Ohgi and everyone else arrived moments later. A quick look inside the train resulted in a round of gasps - within were a shipment of Sutherlands. Now they had a real way to fight back against Britannia on even footing.

"Enjoy my gift to you?"

"What the..who the hell are you?" questioned Tamaki.

"He says his name is Zero," answered Kallen.

"Thank you, woman in the red Glasgow. Now, how long do you have left on your energy filter?"

"Um, about fifteen minutes."

"Then recharge it. You'll need a full filter for what happens next."

XXXXX

"Thank you for assisting Lelouch, Talulah."

"No problem, Doctor," replied the Draco, the former leader of Reunion. "So, what happens next?"

"We've managed to break into their network," answered Closure. "It looks like they've diverted Command to General Bartley Asperius. Bartley's never had much challenge when fighting any of the resistance groups except for the JLF, so he should be easy to overwhelm. Also, Lelouch, there's some kind of experimental weapon here, apparently made under your brother Schneizel's Camelot unit. We haven't been able to break into their channels, so we have no idea what the weapon is, though we're pretty sure its a Knightmare."

"Understood. Keep us informed."

"We will. Mudrock, are you ready to move out?"

"Let's get moving."

XXXXX

Naomi Inoue, designated P-3 by Zero, charged forward, catching the Britannian forces offguard. Two were gunned down in the initial shock, while a third was cut down by her teammates. A fourth took aim, only to be crushed by their ally, Mudrock. Inoue was surprised that the man used a hammer to crush their mutual foe, and more shocked when she saw how effective said hammer was.

A group of tanks soon moved to intercept the team, but before Inoue could go on the offensive, her companion raised his hand in a halt gesture, before placing both hands on the ground. A moment later, the terrain seemed to liquify, causing the tanks to be submerged within. The crews hastily evacuated when the ground hardened once more, leaving the rebels free to advance.

Atop the roof of the various buildings still standing in Shinjuku, sniper operators hopped around, exploiting jetpacks to cross the longest of distances. Exusiai had to grab Adnachiel when he almost slipped off the top of one of the roofs, to his immense embarrassment.

Of course, when they turned their weapons on the Britannian aerial units and Knightmares, they made mincemeat of their opponents.

"Exusiai, how are things up top?"

"Going great, Texas. How's the Emperor?"

"Taking a joyride with a Britannian Knightmare while Bison blocks all the bullets coming their way."

"Emperor, please stop running through buildings. My stomach can't take anymore collissions."

Texas and Exusiai both felt sorry for the Forte boy, even if they were only a little sorry.

"Also, Croissant, stop trying to surf on your shield. Sora, stop encouraging her!"

"Kid," spoke the Emperor, "relax."

Bison just groaned.

Now Texas and Exusiai were laughing at Bison's discomfort.

XXXXX

"P-5, take out their air support!"

Groaning, Tamaki nonetheless complied, firing his Sutherland's rifle at the approaching helicopters. He couldn't deny that taking the Brits down a peg or two felt nice, but he'd have preferred taking orders from someone who's face he knew. And didn't sound like a Britannian.

Sudden movement to his left flank alerted Tamaki to an APC firing at him, but none of the shots connected as a woman dropped in front of him, blocking the bullets with a...shield? What, she was blocking machine gun bullets with a shield?

And then she pulled out what looked like a pick and threw it at the APC, causing the vehicle to explode.

Tamaki wondered if he had slept enough last night - he knew he hadn't had any saki. Something must be making him see things...right?

XXXXX

Nearl groaned - the landing had done a number on her legs.

At least her comrade in arms was safe, though. Taking down the enemy was also a plus.

"Hellagur, how long until all civilians are evacuated?"

"A few more minutes," replied the former Ursus general. "At this rate, though, Zero and his temporary followers might actually be able to take down the G1 base. The encirclement is already wavering."

"Understood."

"Ms, Nearl, we may have a problem," intoned Closure.

"Speak."

"We just intercepted a transmission from the G1 - Clovis is authorizing the Camelot Unit to deploy their new weapon. We also learned what the weapon is - it's a prototype Knightmare Frame called the Lancelot."

"Do you wish for me to intercept it?"

"Yes, but we also need to avoid letting Clovis know how strong our operators are. So you'll be engaging the Lancelot with two other operators."

"Who will they be?"

"The first one is Patriot..."

Nearl grimaced for a moment, then calmed herself. "I can do that. And the second?"

"...Blemishine."

"...Oh."

XXXXX

The Lancelot surged forward, using its slash harkens to disable two of the terrorist Knightmares. The rest tried to fall back, though they too soon found themselves offline.

Suzaku couldn't help but marvel at the machine's power. "Yes, I can do this. I can stop all this senseless violence."

"Suzaku, look out!"

Surprised by Cecile's words, Suzaku turned to his left, only to barely pull away from a massive shockwave, which completely tore up the road it had come from. As the dust settled, Suzaku was surprised to find three figures emerging from it - two women dressed in white, knightly armor, while the other appeared to be a man wearing intimidating black combat armor - military, to be precise.

For a moment, Suzaku wondered just what was going on with these people.

Then the trio charged, and this stopped making sense.

Wielding a mace, a sword, and a halberd, they struck at the Lancelot, and to Suzaku's amazement, actually managed to activate the Blaze Luminous Shield.

"Kururugi, I'm detecting a flare in the Lancelot's shields," spoke Lloyd Asplund, creator of the Lancelot. "Did the enemy use explosives?"

"No, its...people."

"Say again?"

"They're...sending a trio of people to attack with melee weapons."

"Kururugi, do not make jokes!" shouted Viceroy Clovis.

"I am not joking, my lord!" shouted Suzaku on refelx. "I mean no disrespect, but-"

"Feeds are coming in now!" shouted Cecile Croomy, Lloyd's aid. "Now we can see what...wait, how are they damaging the Lancelot's shields?!"

Suzaku wasn't able to throw out an answer before the trio launched a new assault, forcing him to give ground. Regretfully, he fired the slash harkens at the women, only for their shields to deflect the projectiles away from them. As Suzaku tried to figure out just how they were managing to hold their ground, he noticed that the black-armored warrior's halberd was now glowing with red light. Then, the weapon was hurled at him, and to Suzaku's amazement managed to rupture the shields and inflict a cut on the Lancelot.

Suzaku winced when Lloyd shrieked in horror at the blow and begged him to take evasive action.

Somehow, the Black-armored warrior managed to retrieve his blade and threw again. This time, though, Suzaku used one of the slash harkens to parry the blow, before reluctantly hurling a destroyed car at the armored figure with his remaining harken. Said car was split in two by one of the armored women, its halves impacting harmlessly on the ground.

The black armored figure suddenly flinched for some reason, before ramming his blade into the ground, sending for a shockwave that forced Suzaku to brace for impact. When the dust settled, the figures had disappeared.

Suzaku blinked in surprise at this, before surging off to try and find the rest of the terrorists.

"All civilians have been evacuated, Zero," spoke Hellagur. "Azrael is already treating the injured."

"Excellent. Doctor, what about the rest of the encirclement?"

"Britannian morale is breaking, Lelouch," spoke the chief neurologist of Rhodes Island. "As is, I've already figured out a way for your 'followers' to break free."

"May I hand command over to you?"

"Please do."

"Thank you. Now I have some questions to ask Clovis."

"I hope he answers them to your liking."

Smirking, Lelouch deactivated the communicator, before making his way into the G1. All of the staff had been dealt with, leaving only Clovis for him to challenge.

Clovis was many things, but brave? Nope.

XXXXX

Clovis glared at the masked man holding him at gunpoint, but survival trumped pride here. Reluctantly, he opened up a channel and ordered his men to retreat, and to allow the Elevens to retreat unmolested.

"There, I have done as you requested. So, what would you request of me now?" he questioned idly, more than a little unhappy at the circumstances. "Sing a few ballads, maybe play a few rounds of chess?"

"That does have a familiar ring to it," spoke the masked figure.

Clovis rose an eyebrow at this, something his captor noticed. "I apologize. It has been a few years since our last game. You always lost against me, but you never seemed to mind."

"What?"

"You should know. The games we played at the Aries Villa."

Clovis' eyes widened at that. "Wh-who are you?"

The figure promptly took off his mask, revealing a face that looked like one Clovis thought he would never see again outside of several old photos from happier times.

"Lelouch vi Britannia, eldest child and only son of Empress Marianne vi Britannia, at your service."

"Le-Lelouch?! But I thought you were-"

"Dead?" The long-thought dead prince smiled. "Oh no, I am very much alive. And I have returned to change everything."

AN: TBH, I don't particularly like the battle for Shinjuku, and I'd rather skip past it than try to rewrite it, but Shinjuku is so important for the plot of Code Geass that I feel obligated to write about it if I start a crossover before it happens in canon and can't butterfly it out of existence. So I apologize if this chapter feels half assed.

Now, I did have plans to show the Doctor commanding some of Rhodes Island, but I decided to shelve them for a later chapter with much higher stakes in play, just to emphasize how much better the Doctor compares to Lelouch. Don't worry, you'll get to see the Doctor being the feared commander he is.

And yeah. Shirley knows that Lelouch is Zero. The incident where Lelouch had to deal with people who lost to him that she mentioned when talking to Milly is related to that. And if you're wondering, the horns on her head are real. As for what they look like, they're essentially nudibranch (sea slug) antenna/eyes stalks, which occupy a similar location to the horns that Mutsu from Kancolle has.

Debrief
Though he could barely stop himself from shaking, Clovis managed a smile.

"I'm overjoyed, Lelouch. They said that you died when Japan was brought into the fold. It's truly a blessing to have you back. We should depart for the homeland immediately-"

"Why?" questioned the black-haired prince. "So myself and Nunnally can be used as tools for diplomacy? That was the reason we were sent here in the first place. Mother was a Knight of Honor, and Father's favorite, but she was still common born, and much of the Imperial Family hated her. It was your kind that killed her!"

Clovis gasped in surprise and pain. "It wasn't me. I swear that it wasn't!"

Lelouch knew that Clovis was being honest - especially since Rhodes Island's arrival in this world had confirmed who her real killer was. But there would be few chances to interrogate a member of his old family, and he wanted to know what exactly was the situation with the green-haired girl.

"Perhaps that may be true, but I have questions I want answered, and until I get what I want' spoke Lelouch, readying his new power, "YOU WILL OBEY ME!"

The strange symbol in Lelouch's left eye flew into Clovis' eyes, and moments later, the prince relaxed, a hazy red glow filling his eyes. "Yes, of course. What do you want to know?"

"Was there really poison gas here?"

"No, it was a cover story so that my royal guard could recover a different item."

"Was that the green-haired girl?"

"Correct."

"Why is she so important?"

"She appears to possess some form of immortality - she can survive being shot, burned, hacked to pieces, and being poisoned, to name some causes of death. Additionally, she appears to be several hundred years old, yet shows no signs of aging."

"Is she like Kal'Tsit?" wondered Lelouch.

"Why do you wish to study her?"

"Replicating her powers would allow me a stronger claim to the throne."

Lelouch was hardly surprised there - most of his siblings desired the throne, even if they were unsuited to ruling.

"Do you know anyone who might have been involved in my mother's death?"

"I am unsure."

"Do you know anyone who might have more information on the subject?"

"Second Princess Cornelia was charged with the investigation, while father requested that Second Prince Schneizel make arrangements regarding the body. If there are any others, I cannot say."

"I see. Can you provide me with a copy of all research pertaining to Code R?"

"Yes."

"Do so now."

One moment later, Lelouch had a flashdrive containing everything Clovis had on Code R.

"...If you were to assume Code R compromised, what would you do next?"

"The majority of the project would be liquidated, while what could be salvaged would be sent to a secret facility located at Narita, then moved to a tertiary base in Tsushima."

"Provide me the exact coordinates of those bases, and valid passcodes."

"Done."

Lelouch looked over the information he had acquired. It was certainly more than enough to turn much of Area 11 against Britannia, regardless of whether or not they were Britannian or Japanese. There was nothing else he needed to know...

Nothing that wasn't personal, at any rate.

"I have one last question for you."

"Yes?"

"...Do you truly love me and Nunnally?"

"Yes. I do. My sister misses you as well, as does mother, who still grieves the loss of Marianne. Victoria and her daughters also grive the loss of your branch of our family, as does Anticlea and her son. Marybel also misses you, as does Carine, not that she will admit as much. There are others who miss you as well, such as Hannes."

Lelouch felt his eyes beginning to well up with tears, but he managed to fight htem off. "Thank you for that."

Then, the prince steeled himself. "When this power wares off, you will fall unconscious after two minutes. Before that, your vision will grow fuzzy, your les will have trouble functioning, and your hearing will dull. You will not call your guards to rescue you. When you return to consciousness, your senses and legs will be restored to full functionality, but you will not remember anything that ocurred after I entered this room...But if I see you again, look you in the eyes, and say, with intent, that 'You are permitted the truth', the block on your memory will be undone."

"Understood."

Satisfied, Lelouch allowed his power to subside.

Then he turned to leave.

"Wh-Wait, Lelouch!"

The boy glanced back at his brother. "Yes?"

"Where are you going?"

"To see my family?"

Clovis had a puzzled expression cover his face. "What?"

Lelouch gave his half brother a sad smile. "You may want to take me back to our family, but I have a new family. One that has shown me support and love when I needed it, and proven stern but understanding when necessary. And while I know that you, Euphie, and other members of our family still miss me, I can't abandon my new family."

Turning away from Clovis, Lelouch made his way to the exit. "So, I'm sorry, but for now, this is goodbye."

"Wait, Lelouch!" cried Clovis, only to collapse when he tried to follow his younger brother.

"Lelouch, please" begged Clovis, who was starting to lose consciousness.

Lelouch took once last glance at Clovis, who had finally passed out.

"...I'm sorry, brother."

XXXXX

After ensuring that all evidence of his presence in the G1 was scrubbed, Lelouch quietly made his way to the Rhodes Island rendezvous, silently greatful that the Britannian military was too busy trying to search around the G1 to find his escape route. Filling into one of the medical vans, he watched silently as the troops and Knightmares disappeared from sight, amused at how easy they had been to best.

It wasn't long before he was back at Rhodes Island's local office in the Tokyo Settlement, where the staff were already directing the injured to rooms for treatment. Passing by Talulah and Ch'en, who were debriefing their men and women, Lelouch smiled and waved. This elicited a blush from the two half-siblings, one that Lelouch failed to notice.

Finally reaching the main debriefing room, Lelouch opened stepped inside. Amiya, Kal'Tsit, and Doberman were already inside, and after a few minutes Talulah, Patriot, Ch'en, and Nearl joined them.

Once the last of those who constituted Rhodes Island's inner circle were inside, Kal'Tsit officiated the debrief.

"Alright, since everyone is here, I want to ask the most important question: did we recover the originium?"

"Yes, actually" noted Hellagur. "Surprisingly, though, it wasn't in the bomb-truck. It was found in a nearby supply truck instead."

Lelouch quirked an eyebrow in surprise that, mentally chewing himself out over not thinking to ask Clovis about that.

"I see. Odd. What was in the bomb truck, though?"

Lelouch took a deep breath. "Would you believe that it was a green haired girl?"

"..Elaborate."

"Clovis was performing human experimentation on a green haired girl via a project named Code R."

"Why was he experimenting on this girl?"

"Supposedly, becuase she was immortal."

The room went silent at that.

"Almost like two people all of us are familiar with."

All eyes now rested on a surprised Kal'Tsit, who was tyring to figure out what to say.

"...I see. Do you know where she is?"

"I put a recovery transponder on her, and from the looks of it, she's currently being examined by Warfarin and Mephisto. She was shot in the forehead protecting me, but somehow, she's apparentlt alive again."

"Interesting," noted Kal'Tsit, before her voice grew harsh again. "Is there anything else that we should know about her?"

Lelouch thought about omitting his new power, but decided against it - while Lelouch did not trust Kal'Tsit for how she treated the Doctor, she wasn't his enemy.

"She also apparently can give others powers. Somehow, even while dead, she provided me the power to control others."

Mixed looks of shock and distrust fell upon Lelouch, though some were also curious.

"Could you prove it?" asked the Doctor.

"Is someone willing to volunteer to be the local guinea pig?"

Kal'Tsit let out a sigh, before stepping forward. "Just get it over with."

Lelouch smirked. "Alright. Despite the enmity between you two, do you find the Doctor attractive?"

The strange symbol appeared in Lelouch's eye, and soon filled Kal'Tsit's eyes.

For a moment, it seemed that it didn't work.

"Wait, what did-WHY DID YOU ASK ME THAT-"

But then, Kal'Tsit grew disturbingly calm.

"What he did to Theresa was unforgivable...but yes. His aura of mystery is rather attractive."

A moment later, the power wore off, leaving Kal'Tsit looking confused...especially since everyone seemed to be trying to suppress a laugh. Everyone except the doctor - he just seemed to confused as well. And maybe a little annoyed.

"What just happened?"

"Nothing important," said Amiya, who was still trying not to laugh.

"Now throw a boot a me." said Lelouch, trying to drag Patriot's shield in front of himself.

Kal'Tsit quirked an eyebrow, somewhat annoyed by that request. "Why?"

"Huh," noted Lelouch. "Guess that power only works once."

"...I will find out what you did to me," promised Kal'Tsit. "But first, I'm assuming that you know about Code R than you are letting on."

Wordlessly, Lelouch pulled out the flashdrive that Clovis had provided him. "Informating on everything related to Code R. Including the locations of two bases that aren't officially on the map for any reason at all."

Kal'Tsit took the device from Lelouch's hands, before giving them over to Closure for analysis. "Does anyone else have anything to say?"

When it became clear that the answer was no, Kal'Tsit declared the meeting adjorned.

XXXXX

Exiting the room, Lelouch made a point of passing by the room where the green-haired girl was being watched over. He suppressed a laugh when Kal'Tsit informed Warfarin that the vampire would have her pay docked if she tried to sample the supposed immortal's blood.

"She doesn't look much older than you, does she?"

Lelouch turned to see Mephisto, who was disposing of his gloves. "That she does, though supposedly she's an immortal like Kal'Tsit."

"Interesting. Faust has been helping me and Warfarin watch over her, though she hasn't moved much since she got here. Though since she's gone from a corpse to being unconscious, she's definitely improving."

"True. Say, don't you have a performance tonight?"

Mephisto smiled at that. "The Songbird cannot be silenced!"

Lelouch found Mephisto's smile to be contagious - after spending so much of his life suffering under circumstances he couldn't control, and becoming a monster over it, seeing Mephisto finally have the chance to live a little was rather nice.

"Ahem."

Turning around, Lelouch and Mephisto found Schwarz staring at them, with Ceylon not far away.

"Yes, Ms. Schwarz?"

"I apologize, Zero, but your sister and maid have arrived."

"I see. I will be out to great them in a moment-"

"They are not the only ones to arrive."

"...Who else came over-"

"LELOUCH!"

Before Lelouch could finish his question, an orange haired girl with multicolored antennae surged into him, followed by a blue haired boy, Nunnally, and Sayoko.

Lelouch only barely managed to avoid being toppled by Shirley's charge, though the embrace that followed knocked the air out of him. Looking around in confusion, Mephisto noted the perplexing looks that Schwarz and Ceylon had, as if they were deciding between hitting the girl...or joining in the hug.

"You're okay!"

"I'm fine," wheezed out Lelouch, "but I think you're going to crush me if you hold on too much longer."

Letting out a surprised eep, Shirley released her grip on Lelouch, then chuckled nervously as she backed up. "Sorry. I was just worried."

"I know."

"Dude, you got pulled into a warzone," noted Rivalz. "How often does that happen? And the time two months ago didn't count!"

"One, that wasn't really a warzone, and two, much more often than you think."

"...How many wars has Rhodes Island been in? Besides those two in..Kazdel?"

"More than you'd think."

"...You have got to tell me more about that."

"Sometime soon," noted Nunnally.

Sayoko merely nodded.

"Um, soo," asked Shirley, now somewhat confused, "what do we do now-"

"Would operator Zero report to the Rhodes Island media center?"

"Go to the media center, it seems. I'll fill you guys in on the way."

The group wanted to challenge that, but Closure generally didn't make requests unless they were important, so they reluctantly followed Lelouch, all the while hoping they would get the answers they sought.

AN: And that's a wrap.

Rivalz wasn't originally supposed to know about Lelouch's past with Rhodes Island, but I changed that when I decided upon what exactly happened regarding Shirley that led her to become Operator Merrow. Mostly because it involves a motorcycle chase and I needed someone other than Lelouch to drive.

I don't really see anything worth sparing in him really the guy orders the liquidation of an entire Ghetto the blood of men women and children are on his hands when he flapped his gums. And the fact he was once close to Lelouch and Nunally is supposed to stop that? His death is simply the universe punching in his ticket. It's pretty obvious adult Clovis is different from child Clovis hell Carine was nice too and look how she turned out.

I get your points.

My reasoning is as follows: family is family, as Ch'en and Talulah prove. Lelouch has nothing personal against Clovis, and since he's matured a bit with Rhodes Island, has no interest in killing family that hasn't antagonized him personally (and I mean did things with the express intent to harm him, Nunnally, or one of their friends/protectorates intentionally). And finally, the choice to spare Clovis also has elements of not creating a martyr. Dragging his name through the mud without killing him makes it more difficult for him to repair his reputation.

I get your points.

A Martyr of what exactly? Charles lambasted Clovis on national television during his funeral and with his little sister and mother in earshot no doubt. He only became a Martyr to the people who cared about him and for the royal court that is literally possibly Odysseus Scheinzel and Cornelia and euphemia Four people and possibly the public of area eleven who are most likely heavily brainwashed by the Britannian Propaganda machine.

Ch'en and Talulah are entirely different to Clovis. Talulah was possessed Clovis willingly chose to see to the Slaughter of innocent civilians even if terrorists hid amongst them and by proxy his orders also almost screwed over Lelouch.

Fair.

I'm gonna throw author favoritism out here. And also that I just personally like to see Clovis be a chew toy along with most of the rest of his siblings and need him alive to suffer for comedy.

His death was basically a chew toy moment for him too you know it was a glimpse at the Britannian Court and it was brutal as fuck. Charles even if he wore a mask was an Asshole of the highest degree and having someone to trust in that viper's pit is necessary also if you end up dying expect only your parents and siblings and thsoe loyal in your employ to cry and mourn you. The rest will cackle at the chance of being one step closer to emperor or empress.

Though I am curious how Arknight Terrans will handle a world without Originium but with just as much racism and hate inherent in it. And if Nunally is not friends with all the child operators I shall eat my shorts.

I know. I just like him (though honesty that isn't a high bar). Plus I'd feel terrible if I made his adorable sister cry. (Yes I am aware of the double standard)

If Nunnally has no friends among the child operators
, I'd have neither a heart nor a brain. She's at least good with the Children of Ursus (their real name is too long for this post), though she did once stock up for Mephisto and Faust when they got too far with him (Mephisto is screwed up to hell and back, but bullying a psychologically unstable tween(?) is generally a stupid idea, especially if they are making progress toward becoming a functional person). Though even she thinks he needs to do a lot to atone for what he did (also, the USGSG is larger than in canon, for spoiler reasons).

This does raise the question of how you'll handle the rest of Britannia's royal family and other series outside code Geass bass like Marrybel and the aforementioned Laila la Britannia.

A very short snippet to tide you guys over until I write the next chapter:

"Did you have to get involved in Shinjuku, Lulu?"

Lelouch gave Shirley an apologetic look. "This time, it was a legitimate accident. Not like what happened three months ago."

"Hard to forget about that," noted Rivalz. "Why did you agree to play against the Black King, anyway?"

"Nunnally asked me to as a favor to Suzuran. And Texas needed an escort."

Shirley grew uncomfortable at the mention of Texas, but soon her discomfort passed. "Just be careful, okay?"

"Yes. And I'll make sure to keep you informed going ahead."

"Thanks, Lelouch."

"Speaking of the Black King, you sure Suzuran's mother got all of his goons? I mean, they haven't done anything yet, but you never no."

"If they try to hurt Lulu, they'll have to go through me!" boasted Shirley - something that was rarely expected from the girl.

Rivalz, in particular, looked at her with disbelief. "What are you gonna do? Eat them?"

"No….I'll let Sea Sovereign do that for me!

As she said the last part, Shirley's face seemed to darken while her eyes began to glow. Her voice also dropped a few octaves, and one could notice the outline of a serpent creature forming above her, which best resembled a serpent, but with paddle-like fins and a fish tail.

Rivalz turned to glance at Lelouch, who wordlessly mouth 'long story' to his best friend.

"To change the subject," began a slightly nervous Lelouch, "did you finish helping Milly get the special paint for Deepcolor."

"Yes," said Shirley, demeanor returning to normal. Much to her friends' relief.

Just a note, but 'sea sovereign' isn't named after any extant marine animal - it's named after an extinct species.

And this will show up next chapter, though with maybe a few edits.

If you have any feedback, suggestions, or speculation, feel free to state them.

Eh no skin of my back I guess. I was at least hoping for a deviation from the standard formula of Marianne being in on it. Which is to be fair a thing in any code geass fic ever. Nightmare of nunally was refreshing in that sense. But no one else picked up on it besides the Irregulars and bad ass C.C.
Sorry to reply to this so late again, but keep in mind that Marianne is possessing Anya at the moment, and the only other person Lelouch knows who is possessing another person is the main villain of Arknights, and makes their host's life a living hell. He might not forgive his mom at all in that regard.

Again Koschei is a dick unlike Marianne who was literally forced to posses Anya to help Charles after being ganked by victor and unlike Koschei she takes control only to interact with him and during Piloting. All Anya has are moments of memory loss and she is also living a good life as a Knight of the round rather than a mere maid unlike Talulah whom Koschei set up to be his vessel thus broke over time.

Given just how badly Anya reacts canonically whenever Marianne takes control , I feel like you're lying. Anya practically seems to have a panic attack whenever Marianne starts exertinginfluence over the poor girl.
