That's right the 24h limit starts at the moment of the summoning. So it's perfectly possible to have a specific creature by your side near constantly by ressumoning it as soon as it disappears at the end of the initial 24h period.
With Conditional Summoning, you could probably have it set so a critter is always automatically resummoned in the exact same position once its 24 hour period was finished too, to give the illusion of a summon being up 24/7. As long as it's not killed of course.
Personally I'm perfectly fine with joining his peerage. I feel like that's an option that's not explored in fanfics much anymore. Since everyone is always so hyper against joining.

I HAVE noticed going back that theres a dividing line in time where at one point everyone joined Rias peerage as the default, then afterwards, everyone became so vehemently anti 'let anyone have any control over me whatsoever, I'll make my own group with blackjack and hookers' that it swung fully in the other direction yeah.

Yeah its weird I have no clue what caused such a massive shift in opinion, but I kinda miss when people joined her peerage instead of everyone trying to be God-Emperor of Mankind 2.0 Music Edition. Because Humanity Fuck Yeah reasons.
I mean you can have an interesting story either way, but I miss the variety.
He could just imagine watching Riza getting buried under all of that, eaten alive until she gave up out of sheer terror that her immortality would do nothing but prolong her own suffering.
Oh no I'm immortal and have a sugardaddy and get to go on fun adventures the horror. Unless you really, really want to keep your soul human there's minimal down sides.
Ehhh I dont know I would still be dissapointed if Cole becomes a Devil, just a human hanging out with the oh so special Supernaturals feels funny to me.

To those worried about MC getting devilized- don't. There's all of near zero chance that sirzechs has enough pieces to reincarnate MC (assuming similar reincarnation rules apply where more powerful thing relative to the king = more pieces needed to reincarnate). An unawoken boosted gear on some random dude required eight pawns. A guy carrying around a kaiju, multiple tyranids, a Pokémon, two djinns, various types of massive spiders, a weird chimera and has several types of innate magic + the ability to constantly get more is probably way outside sirzech's ability to reincarnate.
The issue with that is the Evil Pieces aren't omniscient. They have to be rrading somthing that exists in DxD for the cost and the summoning explicitly doesn't give off magic energy.
The most straightforward explanations are that the Pieces work either by scanning for how much power is needed to transform the subject because its required to get past in universe power defenses, or that they work by scanning and judging if the King is capable of taking the subject out (i.e. control them by force) and then scaling the cost off of that.
Either way shouldn't be able to scan the out of context power that explicitly doesn't use magic energy to function.
It definitely can't work off the kings knowledge because Rias had no clue Issei was the Red Dragon and he still cost ten.
All things considered, the Celestial Menagerie should on the surface feel similar to Sacred Gears, what with the relation the two share toward to the soul. What I'm interested in is someone with a high perception like a god or Azazel looking at Jona's soul and being weirded out by the eldritch matryoshka doll bug nest of a soul he has.

Eh he isn't really neutral because even if he's not a full peerage member he's still working actively with the Devils because they help keep the place safe. Just being Human doesn't automatically make you neutral, pretty much every Exorcist is human and they're all very much on the side of the angels, Vali is also half devil-half human and he's working with Azazel currently.
okay both skills have implications for stuff like riding morotcycles, which is easier for people who ride horses due to learning from extension, and the hunter one also applies to detect work and tracking humans
the riding skill is also good for sex, just saying
Miniaturazations and Explosive finish might not correlate, so you can summon smaller creatures that can get into smaller crevices and openings before leting them go kaboom, summoning 100 Firebeetles underneath someons bed is going to kill them
there is also the point of where armor summon equates to size, because if so Snarehunter is a mech suit, whilst Mesothelae is two gauntlets
Actually I'm going to gonna world build a little here are armor and weapon form
Chaurus Reaper:
Falmer Hardened Armor, with muscle layer beneath it, can spit acid, slight strength increase, not bulletproof
Weapon Form: Claws of life
Ripper Swarm:
Segmented armor made of Tyranid plate no strength difference, only useful against the lightest of bullets, like .22lr
Weapon from small curved dagger made of sharp tyranid claws
Vampire Kong:
purple gorilla suit that serves as power armor, capable of flight, has sharp fangs
weapon form: pair of big fists
Shield Spider:
silvery chitin full plate bulletproof up to full caliber rifles, can propel nets like Spider-Man, wall crawling, has incredible tracking senses, Assassin's Creed style poison stinger, no strength enhancement
vulnerable to fire and strikes on the gaps of the armor
Weapon from: large nearly indestructible shield
Ixodoom:
40k dreadnought size meat mech suit, incredible overwhelming strength, acid spit at high pressure, incredible bulk, immune to anything short of anti-material
Weapon from: acid pressure washer
Radgull:
ugly leather old fishermen hat with white feather on it, no special abilities whatsoever
Weapon form: a vault tech brand rubber chicken
Gasp: N/A
Mesothelae:
two black chitin gauntlets
Weapon form: N/A
Sabyr:
Grimm bone armor, slight enhancement in strength and agility, bulletproof up to rifle rounds
Weapon: pair of curved long daggers
Aeoth (Fell Seal): this guy from rick and Morty, all abilities intact, very, very bulletproof
Weapon from, no idea it's scary enough as it is, maybe a giant bomb?
Anura:
green latex gloves, thicker than disposable ones
Weapon form: N/A
Tyrant Guard
this:
weapon from: Psychic Bonesword
Sea Vampire:
cloak of water breating, looks like a fucked up diving suit with a cape
weapon form: fishhook that drain blood
Snarehunter Ant:
the same but now he is in the inside piloting like a titan, it can deploy its children like drones
Cannon (Djinn): N/A
Grubbin (Pokemon): N/A (gotta be honest there this one is way better for weapon form then armor)
two prong punching dagger
a taser the size of a car battery
a backpack with wings, it also has a hand held railgun connected by tube to the backpack
Firebeetle: heracross style armor
weapon: incendiary grenades
Blast Ended Skrewt: "a black and red carapace snapped into place overtop of the bizarre semi exposed musculature of the creature, covering it from head to toe and leaving it looking like a massively overmuscled masked rider. Two scorpion like tails emerged from it's back, and the carapace by it's shoulder blades stretched into two nozzle like apertures sticking out of it at an odd angle."

Currently? He is neutral. Working with devils for stuff doesnt really makes you more allinged to them since he could just as easily work with Youkai or the church (well, maybe not as easily with the church, they hate anything non church)
If he joined the peerage tho, he absolutely loses neutrality, he would be firmly in the devil side until he is strong enough to leave the peerage, and even if he does, being a devil will allienate him from other groups, even if he wasnt born as one.

In fairness, that only tracks if you observe the situation as it is without the meta/foreknowledge that a huge hippy peace type thing is shortly on the way between all the factions. At that point it doesn't really matter all that much

Yokai aren't really a big enough presence in the city to count them as a faction he has reason to work with (Most prominent Yokai in the city is Ko who's y'know in the peerage) and the Church is in a similar boat.
Even if he isn't a Devil and Peerage Member and he can theoretically back out he's a member of the ORC at least in spirit. plus working with them accomplishes his goal of "Keep my family safe" since what other option does he have. For all the issues he has personality wise with them he knows via meta knowledge that they are to a degree trustworthy.
Edit: Honestly what even is the point of being Neutral in this situation, they're already acting as the protectors of the town and that accomplishes his simple goals. sure he could work for other factions but is that even a smart move?

I dont think the Mc would agree with ya there, the whole in spirit part, he just met these guys and even if he kinda knew about them vie metaknowledge, this being an AU kinda makes his Metaknowledge unreliable, not usless but also best to not rely on what he knows since it could be wrong.
He currently works with them since there really isnt another good option right now but with time that could change.
Really, time will tell how things go, rolls could also affect things if he gets lucky.
What would be funnier: Raynare trying to seduce and kill Jona, thus missing Issei, or Raynare going with the canon plan and another Fallen being assigned to kill Jona, contrary to Jonas expectations?
