So I guess what I'm saying is that we will have to ingratiate ourselves to that human, learn everything there is to know about them so we can destroy their relationship as efficiently and cleanly as possible. We will stop at nothing to achieve this, going so far as to go on dates with them, move in with both of them, get matching wedding bands and adopt children together. But one day we will strike unseen and from nowhere and claim our beloved all to ourselves, right after we get out of this cuddle pile. You'll see! You'll ALL SEE!

("Everyone", in this usage includes myself, it would seem.)
(I stayed up too late, attempted to rewatch an older vampire anime I liked as a teenager, realized I was not emotionally prepared for the possibility it might not hold up as well as I thought, and instead spent several hours simply thinking about vampires a little too hard. And then I woke up and discovered I had apparently written and posted this.)

Obviously the only metaphor here is for food insecurity.
(With Phantom Ascension, despite the worldbuilding being a blank slate when I started, I still had a broad thematic goal and certainly something of an axe to grind with the site's Madoka-tinted perception of Magical Girls at the time. Here, at this stage, any deeper thematic angles detected in this beyond "I really like vampires" are most assuredly reading too much into it. I am, however, of course more than happy to take credit for any accidental brilliance gleaned from it and pretend that was part of the plan all along. 😁)

At least as I am thinking of her now, regardless of whether she is protagonist or not, the tension in her character is that it is genuinely some of both columns, much like her yet-to-be-introduced MGPA counterpart.

As unhelpfully vague as this answer may be, at present I feel like "it depends" is the most accurate. As I said, I have no grand plans for this (yet, possibly,) so I simply intend to see where the winds of voting take us.

Half a pint, actually, is what I wrote as the minimum requirement. That being said, if lesser, more frequent donations are still not sustainable biologically, that may be an issue. Whether is is an issue to resolve in the worldbuilding, or one for the characters to grapple with in-universe, I am yet undecided.

While I am here, I suppose I should say that I think I will attempt to set this up to run in alternation with Phantom Ascension - While one is being voted on, I will be writing and editing for the other, and then once that is posted for voting, I will write for the first one. I do not know how sustainable this plan will be, given real-life matters; but I am hoping it may actually help both progress faster, to be able to keep my writing momentum up instead of all of the jolting stops and starts that voting periods have inflicted upon Phantom Ascension on its own. However, if this plan instead backfires, and slows down both quests even further, then I may need to think of a new strategy. Regardless, despite it being such a spur-of-the-moment kind of thing, (which Phantom Ascension already was, to some extent, back when it first began) I do very much want to see where this could go.

Ha, teach me how to read properly. I think the 450ml/2 month is mostly a result of blood donations wanting to maximise the amount of blood donated per visit, at least there's no obvious reason to me why there'd be a difference between 225ml/month and 450ml/2 months, but obviously the latter is much easier to administer on a large scale. So men should be fine to donate that amount of blood each month, though for women it'd be harder for what I assume are obvious reasons.

I will not be locking votes just yet, but since the next update for Phantom Ascension is written and in the editing phase now, I wanted to give a heads-up that I will soon be shifting my attention back to this. Once that update has been posted, I will announce a proper ETA for when voting here locks so that I may start on this. Until then, if anyone else wishes to vote, this is a good time to do so.

I got reminded by this, of a story idea I had in middle school, about a pretty average woman discovering she's the closest living relative of a recently-orphaned girl, her niece several times removed. And then not long after, discovering that girl is a (mostly friendly) Vampire, and having to deal with all the stuff that comes with that. I was in middle school when I tried to write this, so it wasn't very good at all, but still. Though I suppose in this universe, the aunt letting her niece feed on her would be kinda awkward, lol.

Anyway, changing my vote, since it looks like Midnight Shadow is gonna win the protagonist spot, but I still want the yandere.
