Horrible woman. She must be working for the meta breed.
Not all horrible people work for the Meta-Breed Dark as Silver.

In truth, the only people that I believe are truly unredeemable are Ebon and Shiv. Ebon is obsessed with power -- always recruiting newer and stronger Bang Babies to the Meta-Breed -- and doesn't take kindly to orders. Some of his worst plans involved using Time-Zone to create another Big Bang in the past -- in the middle of a gang war -- and using the last canister of Quantum Vapor to return the powers of Static's Rouge Gallery.

Shiv is just.... Shiv.

The Big Bang transformed Talon into a humanoid avian bird -- of which she was really bitter about -- and who wanted to stay normal after she had been exposed to the cure. She even helped Static and Gear by providing them with useful information on what Ebon planned to do.
We've burned this bridge. No point in trying to cross it now.
Yeah.... It would probably be best to let things calm down for a while.
Ended about as expected. Back to the next time skip and training sequence!

Hurray! Only one typo.

Bang Baby [A Static Shock Quest]

The bus driver gave me a long stare as I climbed up onto the bus after the man that had shook me awake. He opened his mouth as if to tell me to leave, shut it, and then shook his head. I fumbled in my pocket for some change and then dropped it into the slot.

I passed a few older women with shopping bags and a tattooed man sitting in one of the side seats. A black-haired woman looked up at me, frowned at my ruffled clothing, and then pulled her daughter closer to her.

The back seats had been claimed by a fat teenager that looked to be somewhere around my age. He looked up at me, smirked, and then twisted around so that he covered more of the seats he had claimed. He looked at me as if daring me to try something and I was tempted to, but I didn't.

I sat down in the nearest seat and closed my eyes.

I could have argued, but I could tell from the way Johnson's jaw was set and the tightness in his shoulders that he would not be convinced, so instead I made the third replicant clone nod before I made it turn around. I hadn't made the third replicant clone hadn't move more than a couple steps before I felt someone grab onto its sleeve.

I turned its head around to find Maureen staring at it. "I... I don't...." Maureen stammered, her tone so low that it was almost impossible to hear. "I want to see you again. Promise -- Promise me that you'll come to visit so that we can see each other again."

"I promise." I made the third replicant clone state before I made it gently pry Maureen's hand off of its sleeve. Maureen stared at her hand for a moment before she looked up to stare at the third replicant clone. She threw herself toward the third replicant clone and wrapped her arms around it and hugged it for all that she was worth. I made it wrap its arms around Maureen and return the hug. After a long moment, I made it withdraw and take a step back from Maureen. "See you later, Maureen."

"See -- See you later..."

The bus rolled to a stop. I opened my eyes in time to watch the front and side doors spring open before a couple of the other passengers began to gather their things and stand up. I looked out the window to see where we were and -- after seeing that it was where I had wanted to go -- I stood up and moved toward the side door as people began to pour in from the front door.

I got off of the bus. I had barely taken a step when someone collided with send me stumbling half a dozen steps the opposite direction. I caught myself on a light post and then looked up to see who had run into me -- more than ready to give them a piece of my mind -- only to stiffen at the sight of him.

"I should know by now that I need to look where I'm going." Virgil Hawkins muttered to himself before he looked up at me. "I'm sorry I ran into you, ma'am. I'm -- uh -- I'm running late for this big project that me and a few friends of mine are doing for our history class. I agreed to meet up with them earlier, but some other things came up...."

I frowned, but nodded. 'He's lying.'

"I -- I really am sorry, Ma'am." Virgil said and it sounded like he meant it. He stood there for a long couple of moments -- looking like he wanted to be anywhere else -- before he started to shift. "But.... I have to go."

I wonder what's up with Virgil. o_O

Anyway, glad to see that the encounter with Maureen ended on a good note. And since Susan can make replicants, I presume she'll be able to meet up with Maureen regularly.

[X] Train With Ron: Train with Ron to improve his [Rot Manipulation].

I'd like to see more hanging-out time between Susan and Ron. His powers must be frustrating to have, and also more dangerously lethal than most powers. So he needs the practice and discipline. Them hanging out also harkens back to when it was just the two of them after the Big Bang.

Is it just me or does it seem likely that Virgil somehow knows who we are and used the excuse of bumping into us to slip some kind of tracker on our clothing?

Oooooh. Mystery box.

Me too.

You presume correctly.

I am afraid that I have to disagree with you here. I know that a lot of people would be frustrated to learn that their power [ Rot Manipulation ] because of how dangerous and lethal it is, but Ron is not one of them. [ Rot Manipulation ] has proven itself to be an tool that he can use against opponents that will take them down with far less effort than he would have needed to use to take them out with his hand-to-hand skills. In truth, he has actually started to rely on it more heavily than he would his hand-to-hand skills. I'm bad at hand-to-hand combat scenes.

I do agree that he could use some more practice with it though -- just like I would agree that all of the others could use some more practice in their individual powers.

It will be interesting to see what they'll talk about if this vote option is chosen.

Look closer at his excuse.

He's got the Justice League to help with his history homework?
Flash: Ah Amazo, now that takes me back.
Green Lantern: Fun fact, you know that Amazo was actually red green colourblind?
Batman: Stop distracting the subject, we're here to ace this essay. Now essays are like detective works dumb cousin, they're both based on the research. And here, that means Ivo.

[X] Train With Ron: Train with Ron to improve his [Rot Manipulation].

His power has proven to be a little dangerous for himself, so yeah, wanna make sure he desn't incapicatate himself.

Oh yeah, this is the point in time where Edwin Alva Jr./Omnifarious happens. But the Justice League is still in town, so Virgil getting his identity discovered is gonna have interesting repercussions.

He could be called in to help with the "everybody teleported to 'totally not Justice friends parody land'" If I remember correctly, the main issue with the portal between dimensions was power, which Static can produce in spades (and half of the team were left in our dimention, so theoretically they could have been researching ways to rescue the team from their side.) There are probably other JLA episodes he could be called in for but I can't remember off the top of my head. Static does make for a really good specialist if the team is dealing with anything electric.

Anyways, while I do sorta agree that we need some quality team-building time with Ron (especially after the kidnapping fiasco). Lets not forget Mikey. He might be quiet and have a power with low force output, but he still needs some attention every now and then. I do remember him making some very nerve-wracking comments about how he "prefers" being in his Astral Projection over his real body. Don't want him making the "suicide by escapism fantasy" some Astral Projection wielders get into in other fictions. Plus, I am unsure we fully went over his "fusing our soul to our body" thing he did.

You remember correctly BlackoutSampler, but Legends occurred in 'Middle 2000 A.D.' instead of in 'Late Fall 2001 A.D.'. There are a couple of other Justice League episodes that Static could be called in for -- A Better World and Terror Beyond come to mind -- but the closest of those events would be is A Better World.

Excellent points.

No, Susan has been trying to ignore the 'fusing [her] soul to [her] body]' thing that he did to her. It probably would be better for everyone if that matter is addressed sometime in the future....
