So I went to the movie again with my mom because she really wanted to see it with me and I now have a new issue. Nothing Vision says really means anything. It's just platitudes meant to sound deep but really have nothing to them.

Well one that's not what I'm talking about, and two I don't see how both Ultron and Vision know he's coming and if they do why they don't mention it.
At the end, when Vision and Ultron were talking about humanity being doomed, Vision was saying that staying with humans to fight against Thanos would be a good thing to do, because humans will fight even if things are difficult. Ultron was saying that humans are weak and needed to be rapidly evolved to be strong enough to fight Thanos, by making an army of metal, and/or to kill all the weak humans.

Of course Ultron is a bit fucked up, and is twisted in how he saw his objective of making peace/protecting mankind, not to mention that for all his intellect as many people said, he is a child.

As for how they knew about Thanos? Same way Thor did (Yes, Thor doesn't know Thanos is coming, but I meant) through the Mind Stone. I would reckon that the Mind Stone is somehow connected to Thanos and told Vision and Ultron that he is coming to get it. Although, this is my theory.

Thing is they seem to be talking in the general sense. Not so much a specific threat but rather that Humanity is unlikely to overcome our issues.

Yeah, I got thought that too the first time, but the more I thought about it, the more it feels like that they are mentioning a specific threat, or at least how many disaster have been happening recently. The army by Loki, the Aether, the instability in the world by HYDRA, and who knows what else.

I know, it seems too reaching, but I can't help but feel that there is something there.

They're not.

The only mention of a threat in that final speech between Vision and Ultron is Ultron saying "They're doomed", and Vision replying with "Yes, but a thing isn't beautiful because it lasts".

They don't say anything that indicates they're talking about a given threat. Hell, the threat of global warming fits the bill exactly as well as is necessary for the conversation to make sense.

Absolutely nothing indicates that they're aware of Thanos yet, and there's one big indication that they're not; Vision never mentioned it to anyone, despite how important it would be to mention that to them.

In GotG much of the space community seems to know all about Thanos and he is pretty well known for depopulating planets in the past. If the Asgardians are aware of the elders of the universe and the infinity stones I do not see why they would be ignorant of Thanos. He is just not an immediate threat to Earth which is what they care about more than other worlds.
