We've all seen our fair share of protags who are smart enough to solve a universal equation, or charismatic enough they could talk their way through, but how about the someone who's not smarter than the smarties, just wise enough to not admit he's plain lucky. Admittedly I really want to see Presence in action.

[x] Plan Fae Champion
Strength C
Dexterity B
Constitution D
Intelligence C
Wits D
Resolve E
Presence B
Manipulation A
Composure C

Secondary: physical (best at Dexterity). Tertiary: mental (worst at Resolve). Primary: social (best at Manipulation).
CBD, CD(D->E), B(B->A)C
A fickle champion for the fickle gods!

I don't get the existing plans.
-Pick your primary stat from among physical, mental, or social. Two of its associations will be B rank and one will be C rank.
-Pick your secondary stat. One association will be B rank, one will be C rank, and one will be D rank.
-Pick your tertiary stat. One association will be C rank and two will be D rank.
Plan Chadicus

Strength A
Dexterity D
Constitution B
Intelligence D
Wits C
Resolve B
Presence C
Manipulation E
Composure C
We should get (B->A)CB, DCB, C(D->E)D. Why is Dexterity a D rank, and Composure/Presence a C rank?

Chapter 3
Plan Chadicus wins with proper... math? Letter adjustment. Presence was chosen to drop to D.

---

Onward to the magic power system, which will consist of broad categories stolen and modified from Shadow of the Demon Lord that will be ranked like the stats before, but with one modification: E rank does not exist here, because weenies cannot utilize magic. So the lowest rank of magic is D for Dabbling. You'll get better eventually, sport.

Rather than being a huge nerd and making lists of all kinds of spells and things, we're just going to pull stuff out of our asses based on how you rank the types of magic. Strap in, there's quite a bit. But don't fear, this vote won't be as complex.

-Air is all about winds, sky, etc. Element stuff.
-Alchemy is kind of like magical chemistry. More potion-y than a certain popular anime, but we're going anime too so that's in.
-Alteration deals with modifying existing traits and bestowing traits on others. Think Spider-Man instead of a spider man.
-Arcana deals with raw magic stuff. Also metamagic and antimagic and any other prefix you can slap on there, probably.
-Battle is just enhancing your physical prowess to add anime to your attacks.
-Blood is... blood magic. Not exactly sure how else to describe it.
-Celestial is mostly light, but also involves light from the heavens. Sun, moon, stars, etc.
-Chaos is gonna fuck with things and make a bunch of dumb bullshit happen.
-Cold is ice and freezing and stuff. Brrrr.
-Conjuration lets you make stuff out of thin air. Usually minions, but also a variety of knickknacks.
-Curse is all the nasty debuffs.
-Death is about attacking your opponent's life points directly.
-Destruction is raw damaging force messing everything up. Including you.
-Divination is all about gaining insight and information through a variety of means.
-Earth is all about stone, soil, sand, etc. Element stuff.
-Enchantment is messing with the opponent's mind and emotions.
-Fey is kind of a grab bag of trickery asshole bullshit involving whatever mystical folkloric nonsense is causing trouble in your neighborhood.
-Fire is BURN! BURN TO THE GR-BURN! Also lava. Element stuff.
-Illusion is fooling the senses into thinking something fake is real. You're already in my genjutsu.
-Invocation does something else in Shadow of the Demon Lord, but I have it as the catch-all category for invoking the power of your pantheon. More on that after this.
-Life is healing and stuff. Heal the HP, heal the debuffs, heal the dead people.
-Metal involves... uh... metal. Drag up unrefined ore and make it into a thing real fast, break metal stuff.
-Nature is plants and stuff.
-Necromancy is subverting the cycle of life and death.
-Order is probability manipulation, stamping out lolsorandumb, and slapping down mandates.
-Primal brings out the inner beast. Sometimes literally.
-Protection is the lame but effective defensive magic stuff.
-Rune involves magic symbols that do stuff. MAGIC RUNES, LADDIE.
-Shadow involves shadows, darkness, etc.
-Song can be the buffs and debuffs of music, but also utilizing raw sound.
-Soul is all about spiritual manipulation to do mind over matter stuff. It's mainly self-buffs.
-Spiritualism is ghosts and stuff. May as well make use of all those nerd souls all over the afterlives.
-Storm is lightning and weather in general.
-Technomancy is going to give you mad scientist technological shenanigans.
-Telekinesis is manipulating stuff with invisible force. It's low-key gravity.
-Telepathy is all that psychic stuff.
-Teleportation is what it says, in addition to manipulating space.
-Time is manipulating the timestream. Careful not to cross the streams of alternate timelines.
-Transformation is your classical shapeshifting.
-Water is liquids and whatnot. Element stuff.

For the Tuatha de Danaan, Invocation bestows the powers of Enech ("Face"). Reputation and oaths are crucial to them, and Enech allows you to gain divine power for being the best you can be. It also lets you slap down some restricting geasa on others, forcing them to abide by an oath of some sort. Just know you're going to have a geas of your own.

Our last dumb anime nonsense collaboration attempt failed partially because I didn't have many characters made for the winning choice, and partially because I gave waaaaaay too many magic points so there felt like zero room for improvement. So to make things simple and sweet:

Pick one magic category to be A rank, one to be B rank, one to be C rank, and two to be D rank. Five total.

There are opportunities to raise the ones you've picked, of course, and opportunities to open more categories if you desire.

[] I am a sample vote. Plan friendly uniform template:
-Alcoholism A
-Depressiomancy B
-Fedora Tipping C
-Memelord D
-Ramencrafting D

[X] Chadicus Casts Fist

-Battle A
-Arcana B
-Invocation C
-Order D
-Life D

Powerful physical buffs with antimagic counters. Order and Invocation complement each other and are more versatile with Arcana's metamagic. Life provides self-healing and poison resistance, letting us push our body further.

[X] Deeeeeeebuffs
- Curses A
- Arcana B
- Alchemy C
- Battle D
- Blood D

Chapter 4
Looks like Chadicus will indeed Cast Fist

---

The penultimate character creation decision is here, and it's a bit of an important one. What God of the Tuatha de Danaan decided to anoint you as their champion? While you'll be in touch with most of them anyway, this particular one took a shining to you, after all, and so they'll have your back the most. This won't just be entirely fluff (that's the next decision): your chosen God will also boost up some of your stats. Shore up some weaknesses, go all in on a minmax deal, or just grab some other neat things.

Do keep in mind the Tuatha are not really Gods compared to most other pantheons. They've been euhemerized (downplayed as heavily exaggerated historical characters in a storytelling variant of Telephone) and may or may not be based on the actual deities of Ireland. They are characters from old tales that are very much human. But we've just got those tales to work off of, which also leads to their confusing patchwork cosmology, how many of them died, and that yes, mortals ultimately forced them under Ireland. But this is one of those All Myths Are True settings, so it's only fair to treat them as Gods and they still live despite being dead. Mythology doesn't have to make sense.

With that out of the way, it's time to select your patron deity, which will have subchoices based on what stat or power they've increasing. Featuring a handy dandy pronunciation because Gaelic is one of those evil languages that uses the Roman alphabet but doesn't play by its rules at all. Like the pantheon itself: too-ah-ha day dahn-uhn.

[] Your patron deity is Aengus the Young.
(Not like the beef, but ehn-guhs). He is the God of beauty, love, and youth. He will remain eternally young and he's just an all-around pleasant individual. But he finds your lack of social acumen a bit uncouth. Fortunately, he's offering some of his gifts to help out in being a lovable person, and maybe you'll take after his swan association.
Either select one of:
-[] Raise Presence to C
-[] Raise Manipulation to D
-[] Raise Composure to B
and one of:
-[] Learn Alteration at D to bestow beauty and swan-like traits (to start with).
-[] Learn Enchantment at D
-[] Raise Life to C
or alternatively:
-[] Only raise Presence to B

[] Your patron deity is Boann.
(bow-uhn). She is the mother of Aengus and the Goddess of the River Boyne. Though she didn't willingly associate herself with the river-- rather, she was turned into it as punishment for violating the taboos of a mystical well of knowledge. Other than that event, she's a very caring and doting individual, loving her son and being very attached to her lover The Dagda. We don't talk about her actual husband, which is varyingly two different figures.
Her care manifests as raising Presence to C; also select one of the powers to gain:
-[] Raise Life to C
-[] Learn Metal at D
-[] Learn Water at D

[] Your patron deity is Brigid.
(no, that's not a hard g or a soft g, but bree-yid). Brigid is actually three sisters of the same name. Their parents must not have been very creative, which is at odd contrast to her role as a keeper of flame and the sparks of creation. They are associated with the spring, and each sister holds a different aspect of fire. Brigid the Healer is a keeper of the hearth, Brigid the Poet has the fire of inspiration, and Brigid the Smith uses the fires of the forge to create some neat stuff. Since she's three but also one thanks to her syncretization with the Christian St. Brigid, we're not going to worry too much about which Brigid is your patron: you get all of them.
Select one of:
-[] Raise Intelligence to C
-[] Raise Wits to B
-[] Raise Presence to C
and one of:
-[] Learn Alteration at D to make equipment perform betterer (to start with).
-[] Learn Divination at D
-[] Learn Fire at D
-[] Raise Life to C
-[] Learn Nature at D

[] Your patron deity is Coirpe mac Etain.
(koar-puh mahk ee-dain; AKA Cairpre (kor-bre)). He's a poet of the Tuatha. He invented satire. Sounds a bit mundane, but remember, the Tuatha deeply care about their reputation. Coirpe's words can actually kill, and he defeated the tyrannical half-Formorian king Bres by forcing him to flee Ireland due to shame. You may be a strapping young lad or lass, but Coirpe hopes to teach you other ways to throw around your might.
Either select one of:
-[] Raise Intelligence to C
-[] Raise Wits to B
-[] Raise Presence to C
and one of:
-[] Learn Curse at D
-[] Learn Enchantment at D
-[] Learn Song at D. A bit more musical application of poetry.
or alternatively:
-[] Only raise Arcana to A

[] Your patron deity is The Dagda.
(dahg-duh). He is a mighty warrior and God of strength and manliness, but he is also a druid and has ties with magic, fertility, and wisdom. He's a jolly fellow when not consumed by bloodlust, and is happy to teach you further in the ways of the warrior or the mystic. He was out-magicked one time when he fought against Cethlenn, wife of the Formorian king Balor, and it eventually resulted in his death. But the Tuatha tend to shrug off death in time.
Either select one of:
-[] Raise Dexterity to C
-[] Raise Wits to B
-[] Raise Presence to C
and one of:
-[] Learn Death at D
-[] Learn Divination at D
-[] Raise Life to C
-[] Learn Nature at D
-[] Learn Storm at D
or alternatively, only select one of:
-[] Max Strength at S
-[] Raise Constitution to A
-[] Max Battle at S

[] Your patron deity is Donn-Aineach.
(dun ayn-uck). He is the mysterious and obscure lord of the dead, only referenced in passing here and there in the myths of Ireland. The souls of the fallen go to his realm in Tech Duinn (teck doon), or the House of Donn. Whether they remain there for eternity or if it's just a stop before they reach the Otherworld of the Gods and fey we don't know.
His power manifests as raising Presence to C; also select one of the powers to gain:
-[] Learn Death at D
-[] Learn Nature at D
-[] Learn Necromancy at D
-[] Learn Shadow at D
-[] Learn Spiritualism at D
or alternatively, cast away the innate Presence boost and only select one of:
-[] Raise Constitution to A
-[] Max Battle at S

[] Your patron deity is Goibniu.
(gohv-nyu). He is the chief smith of the Tuatha, so prominent among the Celtic pantheons that a similarly-named figure appears in both the pantheons of Gaul and the Welsh. As a creator and inventor, he's eager to teach you in his ways.
Either select one of:
-[] Raise Dexterity to C
-[] Raise Intelligence to C
-[] Raise Wits to B
and one of:
-[] Learn Alchemy at D
-[] Learn Metal at D
-[] Learn Rune at D
-[] Learn Technomancy at D
or alternatively, only select one of:
-[] Raise Constitution to A
-[] Raise Arcana to A

[] Your patron deity is Lugh Lamhfhada.
(loo law-va-thuh). Lamhfhada means "of the long arm," referring to his prowess in battle with his spear. His other prominent title is Samildanach (sah-mul-daw-nuck), "many-skilled." The Tuatha are Gods that take one art or skill and push their prowess with it to its maximum possible extent. So the fact that Lugh has mastered eleven such arts is very prestigious indeed. He's also the dad of that Cu Chulainn (coo kuh-luhn) fellow, an absolutely baller figure from myth. Lugh was killed by some grandsons of The Dagda after he killed their brother for having an affair with one of his wives, but death doesn't really stop the Tuatha.
Lugh is a simple patron deity. Either he already knows it, or he knows enough about it. His immense skill as a generalist makes it simple.
Either:
-[] Raise any of your stats below a B one letter rank, and learn any one magic at D or raise any of your existing fields below a B one letter rank. Obviously you'll have to reword this vote.
or:
-[] Raise any of your stats or magics at B and above one letter rank. Just one.

[] Your patron deity is Manannan mac Lir.
(mah-nah-nawn mahk leer). Manannan is a kingly God of the sea and of travel, but he also occasionally serves as a trickster figure. He is given great respect from the Tuatha despite not being a descendant of the ancient land Goddess Danu, but instead of the ancient ocean God Lir (AKA Alloid). The Isle of Man is named after him, so he's thrilled to see his influence still in this unfamiliar new Earth of humanity.
Select one of:
-[] Raise Wits to B
-[] Raise Manipulation to D
-[] Raise Composure to B
and one of:
-[] Learn Fey at D
-[] Learn Illusion at D
-[] Raise Invocation to B
-[] Learn Teleportation at D
-[] Learn Water at D

[] Your patron deity is The Morrigan.
(nope, Darkstalkers won't save you here. It's mohr-ee-gawn). The Morrigan is a fearsome and enigmatic Goddess also known as The Phantom Queen. She is a fearsome Goddess of corvids, mayhem, and bloodshed, but also a sorceress beyond peer even amongst other pantheons. To add to her mystery, she is actually a triple goddess composed of three sisters but is sometimes also an individual of her own. Known as The Morrigna (mohr-ee-nuh) when the three manifest separately, Macha (mah-kuh) is the sorceress, Nemain (nev-in) is the force of chaos, and The Badb (bahv) is the carrion bird.
Either select one of:
-[] Raise Dexterity to C
-[] Raise Presence to C
-[] Raise Manipulation to D
and one of:
-[] Learn Blood at D
-[] Learn Chaos at D
-[] Learn Conjuration at D
-[] Learn Destruction at D
-[] Learn Divination at D
-[] Learn Enchantment at D
-[] Learn Illusion at D
-[] Learn Primal at D
-[] Learn Shadow at D
-[] Learn Transformation at D
Or, alternatively, select no stat but two of the magics above, or:
-[] Raise Resolve to B
-[] Max Battle at S
-[] Raise Arcana to A

[] Your patron deity is Nuada Airgetlam.
(noo-uh-thuh ar-get-lawv). Nuada Airgetlam ("of the Silver Hand") is the finest High King of the Tuatha, leading them to Ireland in the first place and established their kingdom there. He was eventually killed by the Fomorian Balor of the Evil Eye, but they've straightened all of that out since then, and he rules the Tuatha once more. Know that if he is not chosen, the other champion of the Tuatha will be anointed by him. He considers you a bit too brutish and offers to enhance your leadership capabilities.
Either select one of:
-[] Raise Presence to C
-[] Raise Composure to B
and one of:
-[] Raise Invocation to B
-[] Raise Order to C
-[] Learn Soul at D
or, alternatively, only select one of:
-[] Raise Resolve to A
-[] Raise Presence to B

[] Your patron deity is Ogma.
(awg-muh. This is probably the only one you pronounced correctly). He is the right hand of the High King of the Tuatha and a God of speech and language. He invented the Ogham alphabet and also presides over eloquence and learning, two very important things to the Tuatha. He is also a warrior without peer, except for that time the Formorian king Indech dueled him and they both died. It's fine. You're a bit too uncouth for his tastes, but hopefully he can teach you proper etiquette.
Either select one of:
-[] Raise Intelligence to C
-[] Raise Presence to C
-[] Raise Manipulation to D
and one of:
-[] Learn Divination at D
-[] Raise Invocation to B
-[] Learn Rune at D
or, alternatively, only select one of:
-[] Max Strength at S
-[] Raise Arcana to A
-[] Max Battle at S

[] Your patron deity is...
There's plenty more Tuatha out there, and I can keep lore dumping or I can post this update already (blame any oversights on this update taking like two hours to dooooo let me be done with it already). You see the general gist of how the patron deities work by now. If you want someone not mentioned, pitch them and what they'll do.

[X] Your patron deity is The Morrigan.

-[X] Learn Blood at D
-[X] Learn Destruction at D

Planning for a blood mage build. Not sure on the options but I love Morrigan and I love the idea of blood magic. No idea what else to pick though

Chapter 5
And we're going the Hercules route by pumping strength to the max with The Good God.

---

The end of character creation is here, and it's time to actually create the character over all these gamey numbers that things have been so far. To reiterate before I lay out the things I'm looking for in character creation, your current stat and power array is:

Strength S
Dexterity D
Constitution B
Intelligence D
Wits C
Resolve B
Presence D
Manipulation E
Composure C
---
Battle A
Arcana B
Invocation C
Order D
Life D

So here are some things I'm looking for in the character vote:
-Name, of course. Just because a big burly Irish dude picked you doesn't mean you have to be Irish.
-May as well give me a country/ethnicity background general deal, too. The whole world's being forced to participate, after all. If you're thinking of weird goofy shenanigans already with the free form deal here, at least make a character out of the gimmick.
-Sex, appearance, personality. The usual characterization suspects.
-I'd like a wee bit of background. Nothing too huge. What was your life like before becoming a champion? How did you feel when the Gods returned? How do you feel about being a champion now?

Fortunately The Dagda makes it easy in creating a character, because he just appreciates talented people. I would imagine your character was sort of strong and gutsy beforehand considering those high strength, constitution, and resolve values. Someone like Amaterasu would be a lot more restricting for her desire of rank, etiquette, Japanese only, etc...

Oh, right. The bonus Tuatha section of the character vote:
-What is the geas that you have undertaken now that you have become a champion? It's a vow that you have sworn to show that you can still be awesome and succeed even when the odds are stacked against you. Declare one sentence that will make your life harder, such as "I will never turn down hospitality" or "I will never allow a child to be harmed in my presence." Just know that breaking it will shatter your reputation, and the Tuatha love that stuff, so it will probably severely weaken you at best. If you want to be a goober you could make a very situational geasa like Cu Chulainn's refusal to eat dog meat (not that it didn't come back to bite him in the ass), but just know your Invocation won't be anywhere near as powerful if your geas isn't making things too difficult for you.

[] Write in.

[X] The Chad-ening
-[X] Chad Baxter
-[X] US, White
-[X] Male, Looks like if a gymbro got with a jockey to create the embodiment of fitness, Acts like the chad ideal of highschools. The big boss that doesn't care enough about bullying nerds to do it himself, and will tell his crew to knock it off, but won't hesitate to locker slam anyone he finds looking down on him. Treats his crew like family, which is why he won't hesitate to hurt them. Tough love to get them to excel. Didn't give two shits about the gods returning, made no difference to him, but being the champion was something he could appreciate. Now he gets to show who's the best to even tougher knuckle heads, and teach them the pecking order
-[X] Big Boss in highschool, too tough for teacher's to speak up, and too stubborn to follow the directions his more bold teacher's gave. Led to him getting held back a grade or two, but also let him build up his crew.
-[X] Never accept defeat
