Don't stick your hand into a potion and ingest some of it! It could have been poisoned!I nodded along, before I dipped my fingers into the green liquid and brought them to my mouth.
"Taylor! That's-"
It barely had any taste, barring the faint hint of wood and-ugh- mud. I shrugged and bottled the thing into a wide-necked glass bottle anyway.
I can't say I know what it's like to work for so long on something only to find someone with a shit-ton of something that can do what did for so long in an instant."A whole year!" Riley yelled while Astrid looked on silently, " I struggled with Nibbog and Valkyrie to bring the dead back as people instead of some madcap creation, and you've got literally thousands of winged clocks that bring people back!"
Astrid grimaced when Riley toppled forward on her rooted feet, and the blonde Tinker started to pound on the turf. She hovered over Riley, and waited till the Tinker ceased trashing the ground.
I wonder if the Protectorate have been working Riley ragged, or if Riley has been working herself ragged to make up for what she did.
Either it felt like QA taking over, or synching with a brew is far more immersive Taylor because of QA."When the staff touched the cauldron's brew, I felt something from it enter me, probe me. The feeling washed over me, like it was taking me apart to see what I was."
Taylor has grown a lot.I stared at Aisha. Her face was carefully neutral, but I could tell her weighing her options as she looked at me.
"Yes. I don't want to bring another Skitter, or worse, a Khepri into this world."
Aisha has grown up as well. She was willing to remain isolated from one her best friends so that friend could be happy. I have to wonder what Aisha would have done had Taylor not gone to her. Would she have wondered aimlessly through Arland? Perhaps she would have become an assassin."You're happy, Taylor. Happy and content. I don't want to take that away from you."
She's hanging out with a friend, and that's all that matters.
