[X] Plan: A Meal and Misdirection
-[X] Find a union thug and eat one of his memories.
-[X] Replace his memory of you with a memory of a freakishly tall man, telling him to deliver a message to the union that he is watching and the hangings were just the beginning.
[X] Plan A Meal and Update
-[X] Try to find a Union thug to eat their memories
--[X] Make sure they're doing it willingly instead of being forced into it by circumstance the way Solomon is
-[X] Speak to Solomon
--[X] Get him up to speed on the situation. Explain your intentions and the nature of your contract.
[X] Plan Don't Give Up Yet
-[X] Find some Union thug in the Pits and eat one of their memories to satiate your hunger
--[X] Make sure it's the kind of person you'd otherwise kill, rather than an innocent
---[X] Replace his memory with a freakishly tall man with glowing gold eyes, and a disturbing frog statue in the background, who claims responsibility for the murders
-[X] Speak to Solomon
--[X] What's up, my minion? Are there any actions I can take to better ensure your safety? Any good, I mean evil, targets that would make good snacks?
----[X] I seek to make this city a better place. I may not be the hero that Highmount deserves, but I am the one that it needs.
Excellent idea on replacing memories, BelligerentGnu. But why not take it a step further and start preemptively casting suspicion on Avaritia?
@carterhall, if you want to go that way, you need to specify a Union thug instead of a random thug, or Solomon will not be protected. Also the bit where he takes credit for the union murders.

Find Union Thug (Rolled 71+10+5=86) Success
This time around it did not take long to find a suitable target, a man known as the Carver, he apparently has a bit of a reputation for rather viciously mutilating anyone who annoys him. Has a small following of like minded sadists in a small street within the Union's Hollow, occasionally receiving marching orders from the higher ups to teach somebody a lesson.
The hideout was poorly guarded, it appears they rely primarily on their reputation to avoid intrusions, it seem this will be easier than you thought. A thug patrolling the halls is easy pickings to pounce on. You could do this quietly but...
It's been some time since you've been able to truly let loose...
You were sharpening your carving knife when you heard a bit of a commotion outside, you redied your knife, after checking to make sure it was nice and sharp, and went to see what damned fool decided to interrupt your me time. You round the corner to search when you're stopped by something on the wall...
Blood...
You quicken the pace to find out what in the Hells is going on, following the trail of blood down the hall, until it led to the body of one of your boys, without the head attached. You hear something move behind you and you whip around to look, gods, what is that thing nothing is there, but you can't shake the feeling something was creeping around there just a second ago.
You hear another one of your boys screaming down the hall and rush to reach him, when you do he's struggling to avoid being pulled down the hall by a snaking tongue wrapped around his throat something... something that's wrapped around his throat moments before he's pulled around the corner. You hear a sickening crunch and move to see his throat had been crushed by something powerful, and is covered in some weird saliva slime.
The pattern continues, your followers being killed one by one by something you can't remember so much as get a glimpse of! You even stabbed one of them by accident when he was used as a shield startled you from around a corner. You follow the blood and screams to a room filled with bodies each one in worse shape than the last, that does it!
"Come on you bastard! Where are you?" You shout into the ether. "WHERE ARE YOU?"
"Where I've been this entire time..."
What?
"Behind you..."
You're grabbed from behind, then you remember no more...
That was fun, it's been to long since you've been able to properly terrorise someone. The hitch of breath, the pumping of the heart as fear takes over, the screams, it's like the sweetest candy for one such as you... Although you suppose you should be trying to stop doing this kind of thing...
You took your time with Carver, like seasoning a fine meal to make it all the more succulent, the terror and rage, the ignination and panic, it will flavor his memories so well for when you alter them. First you begin by grabbing the thug from behind and wrapping your tongue firmly around his neck, then entering his mind to search around for a suitable memory...
Carver is a nasty piece of work, Abyss bound, which makes your torment all the sweeter. There is nothing lawful about his evil, merely a rabid dog in human form, getting his jollies by inflicting pain on others. The Demons are going to love him, the bastards. Ahh, this will do, the memory of when he murdered his father when he was a teenager, shortly before he fell in with the Union. That was when he first used his favorite 'Carving Knife' to slit the man's throat in his sleep. Carver struggles slightly more than usual as you begin to feast, but slowly the memory fades into a hazy white, ripped from his mind forever. Now for the rest of your business...
You restore some of his memories of when you wee tormenting him, altering his perception to help sell what you're about to do. Now he remembers turning to see an impossibly tall man, towering above him and almost scraping its head on the ceiling of the room. A tattered hood shadows the things face despite the bright light but he can make out a long tongue and golden eyes glowing from the darkness, boring a hole into his very soul.
Blood drips from its claws as it lifts him with one arm and holds him close to its face, a noxious smell like sulfur in the air. Then as he accepts his death the creature begins to speak, a vision of a frog statue manifesting behind it as it does so.
"Snakes in the garden, darkness in the heart. Heed my warning, if ye be smart."
"From the depths of this city, a monster springs forth. A beast of sin, from the depths of the Earth."
"Your Union so cruel, now in my eye. Shall now feel the pain, of all they made cry."
"The hanging a beginning, a first opening act. To bring justice upon, a place where it lacked."
"Now to your bosses, a waring so dear. Their end shall come, within one year..."
You felt a contentedness as you returned to the spire, the kind only a good meal can provide, but you cannot allow yourself to relax just yet, you still have something to do.
It takes some time for solomon to arrive, enough for you to prepare some refreshments for him, you do not eat, but you consumed the knowledge of a chef many years ago. He was cautious as always, but sat down to speak with you.
"What do you want Devil?" He pauses a moment. "Actually, do you have a name I can call you?"
"You may call me Mnemor, names are a luxury few Devils receive."
"Alright then, Mnemor, what do you want?"
"How are you doing Solomon?" You begin. "Is there anything I need to do to keep you or you sister safe?"
"What?" He seems confused. "Oh right, the contract. Things are fine for the moment but we could use a place to hide out if things get bad, it looks like the bosses will be distracted for awhile, something happened earlier today apparently."
"I know."
"Oh course you do, why didn't I think you were involved? Why the hells are you even doing this? What do you get out of starting a fight with the Union?"
"What do I gain?"
...
..
.
"Salvation."
"What did you say?"
"I gain salvation, or a step closer to it."
He doesn't seem to understand what you mean.
"For as long as I can remember I have been a very god Devil, and by that I mean a very evil Devil. I stole and killed, corrupted and tourchered, because it was written into my very soul to do such things. Now I seek to be a very bad Devil..."
"Are you saying?"
"Yes Solomon... I seek to be good. That is why I wish to fight the Union, I wish to make this city a better place..."
"How-" He catches himself and thinks for a moment before continuing. "How do I know you're telling the truth?"
In response you have the Standard Infernal Trade Contract you and he signed, drawing attention to the contract holders clauses.
"I agreed not to harm you Solomon, not just protect your sister. Knowingly feeding you false information of my intentions and goals would fall within the definition of harm under article 3, subsection 7, paragraph 23. I cannot lie to you, about anything, without breaking my end of our deal."
"You... have something that specific... for a contract you came up with on the spot?"
"Hell is bureaucracy after all, I had to file this in triplicate, and I'm a traitor."
Mental Hunger Sated
Union Forces misdirected, how they will react to this is unknown.
Solomon now knows what your goals are, the DC for actions he undertakes for you are lowered.
That was very enjoyable, it's fun to see someone so ill-equipped trying to be good. Building all the tme gets a bit same-y, I'd like to have more actions like this.

The people of this city believe that what they do in the darkness is kept hidden, away from prying eyes. You, are proof to the contrary. You watch and wait, slowly manipulating things to serve your own ends, as you have since before they were born, and will continue to after they die.
The Union has been under attack from an unknown foe, somebody new to Highmount.
Somebody now known to you.
A Devil, a Mnemor, tore through the Carver's men, slaughtering all in his path with a sadistic glee only Fiends are capable of, before he modified Carver's mind to frame the Frog. How interesting...
You cycled through your eyes after the Mnemor left, leaving Carver to deal with the aftermath himself. You paced your viewing chamber and searched for some sign of the creature, thinking of the rhyme he said...
Rhyming...
Could it...
You caught sight of the creature once more as he entered the Spire, of course a Devil would use the Spire. No doubt seeking Anas's secrets for itself, it wouldn't take much to expose this Fiend's hiding place, stop his threat before it beg-
Why is preparing drinks?
You watched until a man entered the Spire, it seems the young fool was swindled into a contract, he will prove no issue when you strike. But what are they talking about?
Salvation...
Oh... Oh this is rich... A Devil attempting to become something more? That is why he's picking a fight with the Union? To become good? You would laugh but...
You can use this...
Just a few subtle manipulations and his seed of deception will take root, you could be rid of two of your competitors without tipping your hand or letting your involvement be known. Leaving this Mnemor to take the blame, and the attention of the others...
Yes...
You can work with this...
Event 4 The Champion of Envy Knows of your Existence
You can't help but shake the feeling you're being watched, you're fairly certain it's simply paranoia but not fully. Perhaps you should begin training your combat ability, learn a weapon or fighting style for your claws and tongue? Or perhaps you should attempt to breach the barrier in the Spire, see what Arnas is hiding...
Or perhaps it is nothing after all...
