Amazing Cultivation Simulator

Easiest way to get Favor is inviting members of the sect treating them well.

(Or knocking them out with a super hot room and force feed them drugs, they also like that.)

Any reliable method to re-fertilize spirit soil? I've got two spirit roots developing nicely but they are draining soil fert.

Looking for some slight advice on Auspiciousness. I've gotten Bedrooms (outers and inners) talisman workshop, alchemy workshop, crafting workshop as Very Auspicious. But I can't seem to raise Kitchen, Dining Room, Other Workshops above 'auspicious'. (Nor the Ancestral Shrine, or the building that measures feng shui).

Are you bearing in mind that stove/forge/smithy produce Fire? If you build them out of metal, they'll sabotage their own feng shui.

... Oh wow.

An admission, here; in games like this one - ONI, Dwarf Fortress, whatever - I have a bad habit of just repeatedly restarting the game over the tiniest things.

So this most recent game, I thought to myself, "I'm probably not going to keep this one, anyway. Let's just see how fast I can get someone to Golden Core." It's not like trying to make your first cultivator perfect is really worthwhile, after all - just good enough to jump-start everyone who comes after, right?

Sunflower Refining, both 'cause Sunflower Refiners are guaranteed to be useful if they can make Primordial Spirit and 'cause trying to manage the breakthrough in less than twenty days for Grand Chariot's first season bonus felt like pushing it. Next fastest season is Summer, for Earth.

So. Day 29, my starting cultivator - not perfectly optimized for this trick, because I'd made sure she had decent luck and social and tanked Con to get there, but she did have capped Qi Sense - starts forming her Core. Only drugs were a Junk Pill, a single Ganoderma stolen from Nanping Village, and a single Spirit Stone to top off her Qi.

Had the usual array of Max Qi skills from the starting laws, nothing more than that. Cultivation Array was just Spiritwood, Stone Essence, and four Igneocopper Bars for Element, on top of a small patch of Spirit Soil. Weather was Rain, it still being Rainy Season. Mental State was 147, from the Talisman of Divinity Mind and a Scented Sachet (Hedonism starts you with one). Sect Feng Shui was Cultivated; hard to manage better than that while raining this early in the game, so I didn't even try.

Made Tier 2. By a hair, but made it all the same.

I'm now wondering if I could have made Tier 1 if I'd set up for Qi Burst, but no, that's just being stupid greedy. Let's just let this one roll for once, see where it goes.

BTW with Spirit trees if you nurture them with the the spirit tree fruit of the element that feeds their element they drop an "Origin [Element]"crystal, which i think may be the best qi gathering item for that element outside of boss items.

Edit: wait, they don't seem to gather ki...

I have tried every proper feng-shui combination i could think of that the game allowed, including wood walls fire stove, ice stove and metal walls, etc. Obviously stone/fire too.

@Candesence so it should be made of own element or element that feeds it?

Don't use walls for feng shui, use decorations, in fact most of your walls should either be earth element or spirit stone/crystal

I mean, the problem with using decorations of the correct elements is they fuck with the temperature. Cultivators can handle this with enough buffs, but your poor mortal disciples and any animals you might be keeping around can't.

In other news, I kept fucking up the shapeshifting tribulation on my bear demon because I kept forgetting to equip the taiyi scroll and turtle shell. Then I equipped it and he punched all the clouds to death in about 5 seconds.

make the room larger and fill the corners away from the feng shui device with counter balanced elemental items to keep the room in a decent temperature. Your best bet though is to simply make your kitchen out of earth element material and let the fire qi it generates from use make it auspicious. When ever you have a temperature issue treat it like you would when making a qi-gathering room for your inners, balance temperature by having the room large enough to have element producing items that don't interfere with each other.

Here's an example of an inner training room where temperature is mostly balanced (well okay not that balanced 52C).

Anyway the trick i've seen in workshop blueprints is to build a workstation out of the element that is fed by the element produced by the workstation. Forge and smelter->stone, well->wood.
Spirit stone walls and igneocopper floor for the forge/smelter then I guess? Flooring doesn't seem to mess with temperature too much. You build the well outside so ice crystal flooring should be fine there.

If a cultivator of their element mediates/refined an Origin, they lose a bunch of attainment.

So they are basically an xp multiplier.

As a side note, Feng Shui materials within the same element aren't the same strength. With the More Grid Info mod, it's easy to see that a lamp made of fire essence bars provides a stronger fire influence than one made of igneocopper. Generally, the rarer the material, the stronger the Feng Shui influence.
