Alchemical Solutions [Worm/Exalted] Thread 5: Eye Eyes Eyes Eyeing Eye Eyeing Eyes

Remember: those Intimacies are Taylor's TOWARDS other people, not the other way around. They may or may not be reciprocated, and if they are they may not be at the same level or the same type of Intimacy.

is still cute

I'll be adding a brief character sheet for the Eye after 3.6, and as a mini-teaser he does have an Intimacy towards Taylor.

Intimacy: Enduring Order Administrator (Familial Exasperation) ●●○○

Given that we already almost automatically succeed at Endure Elements rolls(Stamina 5 + Resistance 3, Difficulty tops out at 5 for extreme cases), it's not that significant.
You don't take it for the Endure Elements rolls, you take it to flip the bird at capes that rely on energy-based attacks and to downgrade Environmental Hazards. Adorjan's 6 Agg per action is a hell of a lot less scary when it gets knocked down to Lethal.

With this suit mod, Lungs pyrokinesis becomes a lot less scary. Same for Burnscar. Legend too, although his lasers probably still do fuckoff levels of damage because Legend.
=================
OK, revised package based upon Gromwelds excellent modifications.

Advanced Materials Upgrade v9.72a
Through use of Tinker-designed materials, layers of advanced polymers and fibers are applied on top of the existing armor to enhance durability. Beyond the first application, additional Armor rating may be gained at the cost of additional Mobility Penalties:
+4 Armor - Mobility Penalty -2

Hazardous Environment System v6.33e
A series of insulating materials, reflective surfaces, and coolant systems designed to protect the wearer against exposure to environmental hazards. The wearer is reflexively rendered completely immune to all air-borne toxins (smoke, poison, disease, etc.), can survive in a Hard Vacuum, and adds a +2 bonus to Withstand Environmental Damage rolls as long as the 1-hour supply of air is available (10 minutes to refresh tank). In addition, the suit gains another +5 Armor against all energy-based damage, such as extreme heat, cold, electricity, and radiation.

Distributed Computer System v5.54d
A suite of signal monitoring and transmission systems, coupled to a miniaturized, optical computer nodes spread out across the entire suit, this is a full featured data collection, processing and transmission system, with an operating system built in to manage the suit's functions. Interfacing works through a virtual keyboard projected onto the visor's display, which captures finger or Omnitool motions as the input. The wearer is able to detect and interface with all forms of broadcast communications, as well interface with physical ports through use of extending plugs, granting the user +2 on rolls involving wireless communications and computer systems. Nearby suits equipped with both Distributed Computer System and Tactical Prediction Model Generator may coordinate against a single target to gain attack and defense bonuses as if the combat was still one-on-one.

Motion Assist Exoskeleton
A network of micro-hydraulics, motorized spools and a reinforced exoskeleton taken from Armsmaster's power armor doubles the wearer's ground speed, and grants 1 bonus dot of strength for feats of strength and inflicting damage with attacks.

Exceptional Equipment Bonuses: +1 Armor, Mobility Penalty reduced by 1

Final Stats
Armor: 12 (17 vs Energy based attacks)
Mobility Penalty: -3

Reason for prioritizing armor over mobility penalty: mobility penalty is an internal penalty, meaning that it subtracts dice from our pool. In a world without ping, Armor is twice as valuable since we in this instance we gain 2 Armor per point of DDV lost. Who needs to dodge when their attacks can't hurt you? It's also additional incentive to make an exceptional riot/tower shield and spend a couple xp boosting Melee (shields) since PDV doesn't care about mobility penalties.

Once you factor in our natural soak our armor value escalates to, "I have zero fucks to give about your attacks" quantities. 15 regular, 20 vs Energy. That's...well, an elite mook with a sniper rifle and a pool of 8 wouldn't roll for damage even if every die on the attack roll was a success. That's a very, very good place to be when faced with somebody like Coil that can contrive situations where we have to take hits.

So I threw this together as a possible emblem for us. It's supposed to resemble a spider, cog and an eye but I'm fairly sure I failed miserably at art so whatever.
Ok, so, on a lark I went and decided to try my hand at MSPaint for a version of this logo, going from Ryune's example.

The core of the logo could maybe look something like this:
or this

with legs sticking out of them kinda like this
or this

That's just my own terrible art skills, so hopefully someone can generate something better. Fun note: all of the lengths/dimensions in these pieces are multiples of 8.

This had better be one hell of suit when the work's done.
To put things in perspective, using the loadout I outlined above? We just made the prototype armor for Dragons Teeth.

Before Leviathan.

That's like...years ahead of canon. The PRT is going to fucking love us once we start talking about mass-production. We casually no-sell mooks with assault rifles. Jack Slash, who has no Brute rating, is just a dude with a knife. This is good. Really, really good.

All praise the Great Maker!

half assed snipping because phone.

Anyways. The picture I left in (I think) would sit perfectly in the center of a domino mask, with the substance of the mask appearing to be extruded from between the pairs of legs.

Fun fact: further reading of damage rules, comparing them to the new OWoD rules in the Vampire: the Masquerade 20th Anniversary Edition, it turns out that Ping damage is due to Essence rating itself. Essence Rating means you're 'important' in the grand scheme of things, and thus have a form of Narrative Agency to innately declare that you do damage no matter what - thus why even Heroic Mortals have the ability to inflict Ping (with Essence 1).

No one in Earth-Bet has Essence, and thus the only 'Ping' Damage that exists is due to Overwhelming damage modifiers.

Which means...we're immune to most environmental forms of damage already. Barring something like Sundancer(who's honestly, not a concern, her mini sun is slow and she's a pacifist who refuses to burn anyone)

Are stun and skill disruption resistances relevant to our needs? What about straight-up boosts to skill recharge rate (not the same as casting speed) and attack speed?

I'm mostly familiar with Diablo clones (Titan Quest, Torchlight) and the latter two stats are by far the most effective way to raise DPS.

Pretty sure the only limitation to charm use is our essence pool.

What you're thinking of matches up to one of our charms, Dynamic Reaction Enhancement System. It's got a small mote cost attached but will let us speed up attacks. The closest thing to a 'recharge rate' is mote respiration, which is more like a mana bar and which we can't really change (we can't even get a cult because Earth Bet doesn't have Essence).

Physical stunning attacks are resisted by Stamina + Resistance like everything else. We're tough enough to soak up most things.
Skill disruption is not a thing in this system aside from Sorcery and Weaving Protocols, neither of which we have.
The only ways to increase speed of activity would require charms and artifacts, one of which we already have and the other of which is unavailable.

So, not applicable.

Keep in mind that you'd be in a bad position for Strikers, high end Brutes and non-damaging Blasters, though strong against combat Thinkers, Strangers and Shakers. Dodge is our best defense at present, don't sacrifice it casually.

Gromweld, I been wondering what is your opinion of people saying that Exalted is the past of Old world of Darkness, if hypoteticaly speaking Mage the Asencion happened in Earth Aleph or Bet, wish group of mages would hate Taylor because of her nature.
I love Mage: the Ascension to death, but this world is not the Old World of Darkness.

The entire situation with Parahumans would be the Technocracy spinning it as "advanced sciences" and whatnot, but with the Masquerade/Veil/Lie shattered to pieces all the Vampires, Werewolves, Mages, and Changelings would be out in force turning the world into something akin to Shadowrun (since magic really would exist in the world alongside crazy science). With the Endbringers in play, however, all bets would be off and Endbringer fights would be OWoD Superfriends Hour.

As for specific Traditions that would hate Taylor? The Euthanatos would hate her due to Taylor having actual souls trapped in her body (and thus unable to move on in the spiritual cycle), while Dreamspeakers would hate her for tormenting those souls/spirits just by existing. Celestial Chorus could consider her existence Blasphemy against The One. And, of course, Verbena would probably hate her for being a Bullshit Magical Robot Girl. The Akashic Brotherhood probably wouldn't care, the Order of Hermes would want to study her (of course), and the Virtual Adepts and Sons of Ether would rightly revere her as the Herald of the Machine God.

Would this apply to essence users? Is that the way the nowhere armor works, or the way nowhere damage works?

How will armor soak aggravated damage?
In the event that other Essence users appear on Earth-Bet, they (like you) will do Ping Damage no matter what Earth-Bet armor is involved (since it's a matter of Essence Rating, not armor/weapons as I explained more recently). Behold the power of Narrative Agency!

There's nothing in Earth-Bet that does Aggravated Damage, since Agg is specifically spiritual/essence-based. In the case where Aggravated damage does get thrown around, Earth-Bet Armor will generally absorb it with the same ability as it does everything else, unless otherwise specified.

That's what flight is for. As far as I can remember, all the folks with bad touch (such as Clockblocker, Panacea, and Siberian) can't fly. So if they show up we cloak and take to the skies.

Even then, that's assuming we're not fighting to our strengths. Ideally we have a four step battle plan.

1) Cloak
2) Reposition via flight
3) Aim, then snipe from long distance
4) Back to step 1
