Sage_Of_Eyes

Waiting
Scraped from here.

You place the incense before your father's tomb and pray to mark the third month of his passing.

Kneeling before your ancestors, alone for the first time in many days, you emit a sigh and run a hand through your hair. You'd gone over it with a sharpened blade as you'd been taught the previous night, but only because circumstances dictated such things. You have hardly had any time to attend to anything that was not important ever since your father died.

You hesitate for a moment, placing your hands on your knees. You think of what you're about to do and simply decide you ought to do it as quickly as possible and without pausing to think of it.

"I've learned magic." You state aloud gazing plainly before the stone grafted with the names of your ancestors. You feel slightly embarrassed as you do it, but you remember your father doing this before his father's grave as well without fail. Simply stating his goals and how it was achieved. Most made trips to the temple and prayed to their gods, but Shui is the only god who heeds you so plenty of time is available for your family's tradition. "And a fair amount of swordsmanship, but I've also… reinforced the farm just in case that's not enough. I think I'm fairly safe, and that I should be able to… have a family here."

You shake off the blush upon your cheeks as those particular words come from your mouth. Your father insisted you speak of such things when you have to pay for your respects, and you're no less embarrassed than you were before when speaking of it now.

"I have made two companions… both of whom have my respect and hold me with respect in turn." You cock your head when you realize that you're happy to speak of Say'fai and Singh. The drowned princess and the repentant thief, you laugh lightly as you think of them in such terms. "They are… integral parts of my life."

Still that brings forth ill thoughts should they somehow no longer be part of your life. Singh would cause great grief, but because of Say'fai's bond to you in terms of a life debt you truly cannot grieve for her. You're sure that the death of the latter would… drive you towards great extremes.

Still they are two friends of which you'd never had before. They are parts of your life that you wish to forever keep, no matter the cost.

Your thoughts wander as the word 'forever' passes through your thoughts. You are dutifully reminded of your pact to your daughter.

"Father, you once told me that upon your death that anything will be possible for me." You nod lightly towards the stones, pondering your words and deciding that they are good and worthy to say. "Though I doubt that you expected of me to reach towards immortality for the sake another, I know that you would approve of this course."

You stand and bow before your ancestors.

"In your short lives you brought a family from nothing onto a prosperous farm. Each of you building onto greater heights despite massive strife and opposition." You nod to yourself as the words continue to flow from your mouth. The same lightness that filled your chest at your first and last prayer returns despite the lack of divine intervention. "Though you only knew of pain and suffering from day to day, I know comfort and security. In this humble start you crafted for me I shall rise until I am legend… and bring honor to our family forever."

Relationship 1 of 10 [6 of 6]

Major Affiliation:

Eternal Chrysanthemum: An organization bent on saving all beings in the world as a whole against malevolent entities of unknown nature. They heed no higher calling, even that of gods, in some cases even combating such divine beings for the sake of mortals. Their influence is spread far and wide in the continent, and many work under their guidance within even knowing that they are.

Fame (In Faction): Cog in the Machine (Presence that is simply there allowing it to work, easily replaced.)

Fame Advancement: Good Karma done in Faction's name.

Minor Affiliations Unlocked Due To Looking At Map:

Dahe Village: Trade village with much money flowing through it due to its connection to a river cording through most of the empire. Due to the large amounts of money going through it, the village has a massive population of nobles and therefore an even more massive base of paupers.

Fame: Feared (You are an acknowledged fear of nearly every inhabitant of the city, and though you will not have any reprisals, you will hardly be met with anything nice.)

Xiang Village: A village focused on scholastic learnings, but completely controlled by clans with great enmity towards one another. Their connection with Dahe Village is speculated to be the only reason they exist, as no other town exists elsewhere anywhere.

Fame: Good Samaritan (You are acknowledged as a good and honest person by nearly every inhabitant in the city, you receive discounts at the stores, and nobles seek to gain your favor to sway the will of the people.)

Cai Village: A village focused on farming and feeding its three neighbors. Its massive pastures and farms growing common fare are separated by smaller industries that grow exotic fare that is sent through Dahe to be sold at exorbitant prices.

Goals:

Entirely up to player base, though several things are going to factor into whatever goal you do try to achieve.

1.Money. Budgeting will prove to be highly required, your compound can support you as you are now but not much else. Establishing more sources of income will make any goals far more feasible.

2.Relationships. Being friends or even plain acquaintances with the right people can and will make certain goals easier to achieve. Befriending the blacksmith will allow to train your smithing skill faster for example. The higher your relationship with someone, the more bonuses are gained. Losing relationship values is possible, however, if you do not manage them correctly and sometimes you won't even to achieve such a thing due to prejudices beyond your control (Family Disputes surpassing generations)

3.Resources and supplies: though somewhat a subset of money this plays an important factor for those wishing to explore or create things. Purchasing, growing, foraging, harvesting are all important. Skills such as Perception: Environment and Medicine: Pharmaceutical do affect ability to forage, as does others when mining or other things.

Actually, I think our combat skills are fine. We need to work more on our common sense so we actually know how to apply our combat skills properly. But yea, learning about our daughter's circumstance sounds like a good idea.

Wonder what kind of Dojo this will get us and what kind of Tiger Goddess Dojo we will get when we die/screw up from now on? :p

Plan Messiah:
[x] Sorcery
[x] Sorcery

Because we can reach our 2 skills at a 100 here this turn and I want to class up. As we are going to level up this turn.

DID EVERYONE FORGET ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED TO OUR DAUGHTER!?

We don't need sorcery. We need Knowledge, specifically Mythology Dragon Knowledge.

Plan Learn About Dragons.

Don't think we can get those now mate, as remember in that last update with our daughter it said we ran out of books on that subject in our library and that we would have to leave and look for more.

So we can't really do that I believe until we get more books on that subject.

[x] Plan Avalon
[x] Diplomacy
[x] Environment

Diplomacy so he starts learning how to deal with people non violently. Especially with that team from the kingdom that'll raid our house soon. Environment so Zhang learns how to use his high elemental. For the Daughter thing, I think we need to go to that book store on the weekend that Sage brought up. Either that or the library Yuen works at.

[x] Plan Immortal Dammit!
[x] Inscribing - Anatomical
[x] Magic - Flesh
Immortality is something we're aiming for, remember?

A Nation's Virtue said:
Then wouldn't a combination of perception and environment be better?
Well, the next weekly problem is going to be government officials, so I'm hoping we can get Zhang to at least have some tact when dealing with them to avoid combat.

Of course, if we do need combat, then environment is better than perception i think.
