Push comes to shove we are going to need help and guards too with the powers we chose, and on the other hand we work best with resources to make stuff.

I would love to play it open, I really would.

But I think we chose the wrong build for that. No supernatural leadership, charisma, skill in war or anything. Not even physical abilities to survive all the people who might want to kill the leader of a pro-civilisation organisation in this world.
And we don't have the backround to aquire these skills naturally.

So keeping our head down and trying to make use of our great crafting abilities, rather than trying to direct a war in the shadows of the Empire seems sensible.

The thing is all the bad people we should really worry about, like chaos and the Skaven have means of finding us that do not count on using their eyes to see or their ears to hear. Odds are Valeria would do a better job hiding from her protectors that her enemies.

Want to go to the Dwarfs we are one of the few beings that can surpass standard master Craftdwarfship.

True, but we can only craft up to the quality our building materials allow us. Dwarfs have access to two things that set them apart.
Gromril and Runes, both which are guarded zealously. So Dwarfs will be very touchy about us delving deeper into their art.

I think a Gold Wizard will be useful. They have the power to forge complex alloys, manufacture magical artifacts and perform advanced Chemistry. The Gold Order even discovered the Periodic table and are aware that elements are split into many more fundamental building blocks than previously imagined.

But that would mean possibly getting involved in Magic College politics, which can be troublesome on its own.

Gromril is super rare and in short short supply like only the High King of the Dwarfs can afford it. An entire Dwarf hold would be lucky to have a single bit of Gromril. And runes are also super rare Dwarfs don't have the numbers to stick them on their inventions.

Ironbreakers all wear full suits of enchanted Gromril armor.

The next update will include a broader view of what the Knights of Magritta are and why they're divided, but I'd be interested in hearing if anyone has ideas for what they might like to pursue following that - the next plot arc will be going home to speak to Valeria's father, because she kind of can't leave that for too long, but if people can use their craftsmanship and artistry to get a foot in the metaphorical door (with assistance from the faithful) what kind of stuff would they be interested in seeing/doing with that access?

It's more of a long term goal, but I kind of want to besiege Skavenblight with the intent of restoring the lost city of Tylos.
