When Scion was preparing the Administrator shard for the cycle, he destroyed most of its essential function, except one. The ability to connect to other shards. Any other cycle or trigger, it probably won't be a problem. After all, the Queen Administrator shard is still largely crippled. It cannot reconfigure or control the shards now. What good would such a connection serve?

Taylor Hebert Profile

PRT RATING:

Tinker: Organizational/Network Tinker
If nothing is worthy of her trust. She will make one. (As in metaphorically make one. Find likeminded individuals, paint them with your colors and make your own organization). Taylor triggered with a specialty in organizations.

Basically, Taylor makes great tinkertech for running an organization/network and also fighting against any organizations/network. It is doubly effective if said your organizations have parahumans or the one fighting against you is an organization with parahuman.

Trump: ??

Thinker:
The quest format is narratively shown as a thinker rating. Taylor has a Jack Slash instinctive decision-making ability How good the thinker rating probably depends on how good SV is at decision making. Might even be a bit precognitive due to knowing a version of what will happen. ^^

Inventory:

Money: 0 dollar /-8,105
Tinkertech Chloroform bottles x 5 (19 days)
Analog Data Transmitter x 1 (9 days) -- Winslow
Wireless Data Transmitter x 1 (9 days) -- Winslow
Wireless Data Transmitter x 10 (25 days) - Docks South

Equipment:
Tinkertech Laptop -->
A laptop configured to connect with Taylor's tinkertech technology. Also is at least 20 times better than a mundane laptop in processing power.
Tinkertech Desktop ---> A desktop made with Taylor's tinkertech technology. Noticeably tinkertech. Has 5 petaflops of processing power.

1.1 Trigger

Shadow Stalker is Sophia Hess.

Sophia Hess is Shadow Stalker.

When Taylor Hebert woke up to the fluorescent light of the nurse office, she finally felt that she was seeing things for the first time. The reason why the school ignored the bullying caused by the trio. They must have known of Sophia Hess identity and was looking the other way. Why how much Taylor secured her projects and assignments, it kept on disappearing. Shadow Stalker can phase on anything. No lock is secure enough.

It was so obvious in hindsight. Taylor was just blind to have missed it. If she hadn't coincidentally gone out of class for a restroom break, she might even still be ignorant of the truth. It was just a moment but Taylor saw it.

--- Sophia's hand passing through her locker as if it is nothing but air and retrieving her mother's flute ---

"Ah.. you're awake now, Ms. Hebert," a voice broke through Taylor's rumination. Blue eyes, a well-formed nose, and a pointed chin dominated her vision. Mrs. Willson was the school nurse and someone Taylor was acquainted with due to the numerous bruises and scrapes she managed to continually acquire while attending Winslow High. The said nurse is probably one of the better staff members of Winslow High in that she is actually competent. Mrs. Willson just happens to have the conviction of tissue paper. Never actually standing up for someone.

"The school janitor found you fainted in the ladies room and brought you here. Fortunately, it seemed like this is a mere dizzy spell and you have no concussion. Still, I recommend you to take easy for the rest of the day. Do you want a permission slip to return home early?" Mrs. Willson said, asking just for the sake of asking.

After all, Taylor had never taken Mrs. Willson offer before. Going home always felt like surrendering.

Still, for a moment Taylor considered.

[ ] Stay at school
There is no one there. Taylor wants her flute back. Its the only thing left of her Mom. She also doesn't know why but she could literally feel where Sophia is and more than anything Taylor is itching to smash the track star for everything Sophia has done to her.

[ ] Go Home
Sophia is a cape. Getting her flute back in one piece might need some preparation. There is an idea building up in Taylor's brain but something is telling her she needs somewhere quiet for it to work out best.

[X] Stay at school

Because Sophia will Break the flute immediately, Especially since Taylor's trigger would've knocked her out.

Oops. Sorry, Dhiker. Forgot to put vote closed this time. (I'll remember that for next time.)
Anyway, winning vote is [x] Go Home

An update is slowly being constructed as we speak. Probably be up in an hour or two.

Primarily the direction of the quest would be driven by narrative. Though, a lot of your parahuman abilities are tied to rolls. For example. Tinkertech maintenance is tied to rolls. Your unknown trump mechanics is also largely tied to rolls. As well as other things. :)

[x] Go Home

How did that quote go, insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results? Bitter as it is to swallow. Confronting Shadow Stalker and the rest her tormentors would do her no good. She has no proof. No allies. Even when she somehow managed to prove that her Mom's flute is in their possession, there is no evidence that it belongs to Taylor. Didn't they do the same thing with her assignments?

Unless she has solid evidence, it is doubtful they will ever take her side against her tormentors.

"I'll take the permission slip."

Still, even knowing that, saying those words stung.

At least, Mrs. Willson was visibly surprised, her eyes widening a little. Even if Mrs. Willson never really helped her, at least, she thinks that Taylor Hebert is someone who doesn't surrender easily. Taylor almost appreciated Mrs. Willson for a second, until her next few sentences registered."I'm glad you're thinking this through, Taylor. High school might seem to be a big part of your life right now. But, once you graduate, you'll find that nothing of this matters."

"So I should let them get away with it?" Taylor sharply voiced out, unable to help herself.

"No. But, Taylor you should avoid egging them on as well. The people here usually want a reaction. If you don't give them that, they should leave them out alone."

'What do you think I've been doing?' Taylor inwardly snorted. Haven't I done everything possible to avoid them?

For a moment, Taylor can imagine seeing Sophia Hess sitting in the classroom.

Anxious. Waiting. Trying to Amuse herself.

Taylor's fist clenched unconsciously.

"Instead, you should alert the proper authorities and they should punish anyone bullying you. Violence isn't the answer, you know? If you attack other people you would --- ."

Proper authorities like you? People like you only ever want to talk and never act.

Good heroes like Shadow Stalker?

Taylor doesn't want to hear any more of this conversation. "I'll be going home now." She got up and headed immediately out of the exit. Taylor doesn't care if it was rude.

This isn't surrendering.

If they don't want to do their job, she would find a way to force them.

X.x.X

Before going home though, Taylor wanted to check on something so she made her way to the library. There is still an hour and a half before lunchtime. Most students are inside their classes. Plenty of time to search on something and avoid Emma and the rest of her posse.

Looking at the grainy footage of Shadow Stalker on the net. The heavy black cloak makes it hard to see Shadow Stalker's figure but it does match Sophia Hess physique. Even more damming was the fact that Shadow Stalker joined the PRT in late July. And when the semester began in August the bullying began to escalate also in earnest. As if they know that they could get away with it.

And PHO thought that being a member of the wards would calm Shadow Stalker. If nothing is being reported that just meant that Shadow Stalker got a better PR manager, Taylor thought darkly.

Searching for more data, she found that Shadow Stalker is classified as Breaker 3 (Stranger 2, Mover 1). Further messages in PHO says that Shadow Stalker shoots bolts that go through armor and can essentially go into some sort of shadowy state wherein nothing can hurt her.

Taylor frowned.

How exactly do you fight that?

As if it was waiting for that precise thought. Several images began to compete in her mind.

Not here.

Taylor closed down the tabs and deleted the cache data for good measure, as she hurriedly fled the library.

X.x.X.

It took a lot of control, but somehow Taylor managed to go home without any incident. She even had the presence of mind to go inside the basement where all the tools are, her mind focusing on a simple idea.

Even if nothing can hurt you.

You still need to breath right?

She only requires some nail polish and some bleach. Several glass bottles. Ice from the freezer and of course the thing that will make it better. A live wire to start the chain reaction.

Half an hour later and Taylor got five empty bottles almost filled with a clear liquid.

Chloroform her mind whispered. Anesthetic, euphoriant, anxiolytic and sedative once inhaled. The moment the bottle breaks, all the liquid inside will automatically turn to gas. Compared to what Tinker make, what Taylor has made is quite modest.

Still, Taylor has made it. And Inside her head, more ideas remained just waiting to be used.

This meant only one thing.

Taylor Hebert is a cape.

Before we go any further. it is time to actually discuss what is Taylor Hebert's Tinker specialty is. Taylor Hebert trigged due to ongoing bullying campaign lasting at least a year led by Emma Barnes, Sophia Hess, and Madison Clements. The coup de grace happened when Taylor found out that her tormentors Sophia Hess is Shadow Stalker (A Ward, A Hero) making Taylor lose whatever faith she has on authority and heroes that wasn't taken by the long bullying campaign.

Alone, isolated, with nothing worthy of her trust...

[ ] Drone Tinker
If nothing is worthy of her trust. She will make one (As in literally make one. There is no one more loyal and faithful than someone who literally obeys your every command). Taylor triggered with a specialty in drones.
It is what it says on the tin. But, please note that this specialty will not allow you to make a full-fledged AI as smart as Dragon and the like. At higher levels, it is possible to make Skitter just with drones possibility though. But, that is a long way off. For the current situation, Drone tinker should be able to make a camera drone that can record the bullying incidents.

[ ] Organizational/Network Tinker
If nothing is worthy of her trust. She will make one. (As in metaphorically make one. Find likeminded individuals, paint them with your colors and make your own organization). Taylor triggered with a specialty in organizations.
Basically, Taylor makes great tinkertech for running an organization/network and also fighting against any organizations/network. It is doubly effective if said your organizations have parahumans or the one fighting against you is an organization with parahuman. For the current situation, an example of organization/network tinker would do is to make a hack of Winslow security camera and get its record of the bullying incidents.

For the Flute/ Bullying Incidents:
[ ] Fight!
This would effectively end the ongoing bullying problem and probably get Taylor's flute (in whatever condition it is). Since it is technically a full blown out cape conflict, you could probably get an upgrade to your minor tinker rating (Matter Phase) as well. Cons: Well, it might end the bullying problem but you'll probably get a new one immediately depending on your handling.

[ ] Find Evidence.
This is the trying to give them enough rope to hang themselves path. Depending on how you handle your situation, it will give you the way to control how it plays out. Cons: Well, Taylor would still be bullied in the meantime, She might not actually get her flute back (which would be a sore point). This would mean that Taylor would need to find a way to blow up steam in other ways.

Footnotes:

*Also note that Taylor currently has Tinker 1 (Matter Phase control) from her trump rating. Which denotes a tinker ability to freely change the phase of matter, as long as the said phase is within 0 degrees to 100degrees Celciuss. An example of this is within the update itself. Taylor made five tinkertech chloroform bottles. Said liquid chloroform bottles will then spontaneously phase change into gas and hopefully blanket everyone in the vicinity once the bottle broke.

**If you want to make suggestions feel free. As long as the phase change is within 0 degrees to 100 degrees it is possible. For example, chloroform phase change from liquid to gas is 61.15 degrees Celcius so it qualified.

***Finally, besides the tinker voting and what is revealed. Does anyone want to take a guess on what is the nature of Taylor's power is? I'll give 1d10 for each aspect of the power revealed/guessed. Said 1d10 is going to be multiplied to 100 dollars which would be metaphorically added to Taylor's saving. A nice bonus for a starter tinker.

Mm. This is hard. It defines quite a lot of the quest going forward. Whether she's going to try to go it alone or not, but also what sort of conflict she's going to get in, or, at least, how that conflict will be framed. Attacking Sophia in some way would put her at odds with the Protectorate right off the bat either way, even if it doesn't come to light immediately (it'll come to light at some point somehow, that's how stories tend to work), but there's a fair bit of a difference in style between how the two different types would go about it, I think. I dunno which I prefer just yet.
