Action Cat: Night Of The Lived-In Dead

Miss Y did have something to go on. Something about that news report started to bug her.

There was something oddly familiar about each zombie. They were all wearing hospital gowns, so either someone was making them all look like they'd just been snatched from the same hospital or worse, perhaps someone was experimenting on terminally-ill patients and the hospital was somehow either not noticing or someone in the staff was in on it.

Big City General, the nearest and biggest hospital, seemed like a good place to start.

Plans were coalescing. It seemed like Miss Y and Ace would go investigate Big City General Hospital, and CEO and the rest would find Herbert Fisker either at his uptown penthouse, his office at the top of Escher Tower or the property he owned at midtown, the Oontz Oontz Club.

It was time for the Action Cats to hit the streets.

Robocat hummed silently as he prowled into the street, his optic scanned silently, searching for any sign of reanimated fleshbags.

Zombies, perfect for letting off proverbial steam, even better for experimenting new cybernetic.

"Alright then. I'm going to go interrogate my Mr. Herbert and see if he's connected to all this." I say as I place my gun in an inside pocket before standing up.

"Who wants to come with? There might be waterboarding~" I say, trying to make it sound appetizing.

"Sorry, CEO," Miss Y smiled and shrugged. "Water sports aren't really my thing. Give him my regards, though, won't you?

"Come on, Ace," she continued, turning to her other colleague. "I want to find out what skeletons that hospital might have in their closets."

Ace nodded. "Lead the way Miss Y. I just hope we find the mastermind behind all of this before something worse happens."

Miss Y nodded back, and headed towards the big glass doors that marked the entrance of Big City General Hospital. "I think we should give them a chance to talk to us first. This dress isn't for snooping around..."

@munchkinomatic

Robocat's sensors light up. Rather, they stay dark. It's the heat signatures giving some shamblers away crumpled up in an alley, standing such that they look almost like really messy street toughs. They're cold, too cold to be well human beings. Undead cats would have been even freaker, but it looks like whoever might've been spooked has already bugged out.

They share a moment staring each other down. Then, the zombies strike! Or, at least, they leave the alley and spill into the street. There's three or four of them, it appears, and the sight of them causes bystanders to scatter and scream, running in all directions!

@StoryJumper and @Whisper1

They both try to get in at the ground floor of the very modern, massive, ten story or so Big City General Hospital.

Miss Y is let through the revolving doors, but Ace is halted at the door by a big security guy. He looked at him with a stoic expression like he respected Ace - Big City having so intertwined its defenses with the Action Cats after dealing with threat after threat has a way of doing that - he just couldn't let him in. He made no real hints as to why, but pointed at all Ace was packing. He'd have to lose it or find some other way inside.

Miss Y's reception is much warmer. A quite nice lady at the front desk peers over and sees Miss Y there, recognizing her. "Welcome to Big City General," she greets. "What can we do for one of the Action Cats?"

"Fear not, frail fleshbags." The cyborg called after the terrified bystanders "Your glorious herald of cybernetic perfection is here to dispatch these decaying revanants".

He growled, leaping into the fray, letting their ineffectual hands bounced off his majestic alloy hide before letting lose with flamthrower and vibroclaws.

Ace frowns. It seemed that his face was more well known than Miss Y's. He should have tried to disguise himself more. Leaning over to look at Miss Y, he tried to catch her eye and signal - subtly, no need to let anyone else find out - that he was going to sneak in and meet up with her later.

Once he thought she got his message, he turned away to backtrack a couple blocks back. Thinking about taking the back alleyways to the hospital again brought up some memories of traveling through them everywhere. Though to get into the hospital itself... Perhaps he'll try to go through the vents. Most buildings tend to have people (not just cats or humans, but both) sized vents. No idea who came up with that stupidly large hole in security.

Miss Y tilted her head slightly, acknowledging Ace, before turning to the receptionist.

"Good morning," she said, warmly and politely. "You've seen the news reports, haven't you? A lot of those bodies were wearing hospital gowns. We think someone might have stolen bodies from your morgue. Has there been any... unusual activity there lately? I'd like to have a look around it too, if you don't mind," she added, guessing as to where Ace might want to sneak in.
