In part, paradox kind of has to be.
Their games attract a certain type of people. The type of people who get into CK2 so they can reenact the crusades and conquer the islmaic world shouting deus vult while imagining they are killing all the muslims before them. The ones who slam that culture convert button in Eu4 every time they take a province from a non western european culture and wish they could do that in reality.
There's a lot of these people and Paradox can't afford to be complacent or it gets known as "the company that makes nazi fantasy simulators" as the toxic people drive everyone else away.
