A World of Marvels and Magnets: A Magneto Quest

@Cicero: Did Sublime or the U-Men get him? Concerning if they're already active threats, but I'm guessing bad things happened to Toad instead of anything nice like X-Men recruitment.

Are you confused about why some actions are over 60
When rolling for an action, most bonuses decrease the DC. Hero bonuses are the only bonuses that actually improve the roll. Specifically, the hero's value for a certain stat is added onto the d60 roll. This may sometimes cause the roll to exceed 60; in this case only (a roll of 61+), you get a re-roll to add to your current total.
It's probably a leftover from when you were working out how you'd run the quest.

Oh, my bad I switched to higher dice. I kept switching around because I was having problems pre-quest with scaling. There will be some actions later that will be over 80 these actions will usually lead to mini-turns. You could also get mini-turns if you crit an action high enough. Which you all did this turn so congrats.

Thanks for heads up didn't realize I still had it like that.

@Cicero: Wait, so has Magneto already had his children? Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, and Polaris are all rather notable Mutants. Then there's Anya, whose death was pretty major for him.

Yeah, he has. You failed Night so bad the questline ended. It would have led you to come to terms with what happened to Anya and Magda while also leading you to Wanda and Pietro. Magneto doesn't know about Polaris and he is not over Anya yet. It would have ended with Magneto taking them to where Anya died and it was going to be a bittersweet moment. But the dice gods decided this was not meant to be.

Originally I was going to start this quest from 1945 with Magneto and Magda before getting cold feet and switching it to 2000.

Sorry!!
So I hate to do this to everyone but I'm going to end this fic. I feel like I didn't put the work in to make the quest as successful as it could have been and it kept eating me up. I kind of got lazy with it all. It was making the quest less fun and more like it was some type of assignment I had to do. Sorry to let everyone down but if you have any questions about how the quest was going to turnout let me know. I might come back to this quest and redo it for the future so it's in more of a hiatus, but as of now its over

Now there is some light at the end of the tunnel as I will be doing another Magneto quest. It'll be a more narrative one that takes place immediately after Magneto escapes Auschwitz with Magda. Expect this to come out within the next few weeks.

That too bad, I'll look into your new quest when it's out, could you let us know how we rolled for the last turn, curiosity and all that

Yeah sure. You critted the Stark roll you got 500+ so it would have been a mini-arc. Every action was at least 30 over the DC except for Night which was a 2.

I was pretty amazed. It would have led you into recruiting Kitty Pryde and Jessica Drew. Also Stark was going to be your beneficiary. You would have gone public with
Stark supporting you because you saved him. Also, Ho Yinsen would have invited you to Madripoor which would have led to you fighting Hydra.

Gotta love how the dice seem make the successes plausible. Magneto wiping out a bunch of terrorists with metal everywhere super crit. Dealing with his pass, super fail.

I was going to have it where if your engineering skill was at 3, you guys had it at 1, you would help build the armor with Tony and Ho.

Also if you were to do local talent search turn 1 you would have gotten Iceman. He rejected Xavier's offer to join the school.

I eagerly await the reboot, Cicero. I will admit, starting out with Erik as a boy in WWII is a very unique idea and I greatly look forward to it, moreso than this Quest's starting point, even.
