    They have weird teleportation gates and can build metal planets. I think their space travel was slow?

    It is really slow. They literally have to sail the galaxy like we sailed the 7 seas. Only difference is they have a proposion system.
    Beyond that they have 18 century laser muskets, amazing cybernetic enhancements, fully sentient robots, tons of DNA samples for the taking and a creature that can morph into anything!
    *slowly breathes out*

    As you can see I'm really excited for this universe.

    • I know it wasn't that long ago, but I honestly had to reread the last part of chapter 3 to remind myself what this was.

    Ch4 seems alright, its a good stop showing part of whats happened and some character interaction.

    So what you're saying is that I could have described the location and verse better? Or did you just forget because I jump verses too fast? or maybe it was just because I took a long time to upload I dont know.

    This would be the case.

    The hole between chapters was long enough, and the connection (and association) with the MC was rather short until now. So its rather easy to forget who's who.

    And the sudden developments between various characters, and changes, when they were not fleshed out beforehand, doesn't make it easier on the reader.

    Yeah I know I could have fleshed out the characters a bit more and make it more fluid but to tell you the truth I didn't really know how to flesh it all out over various timeskips ranging a period of 6 months. If this was a movie instead of a 'book' of sorts I could have done a montage akin to what happens in Treasure Planet. But as it stands I thought a timeskip of 6 months with the character development in that timeskip would have been better.
    Don't really know, tell me what you think would have been better and maybe I'll rewrite the chapter
     
    Sorry guys this isn't a new chapter. I'm currently trying to think up of a new name for this story as "A Scientific Empire" kind of misleads people on what I want my story to be. Initially when thinking of a name I thought of "A Scientific Empire" not as a Empire where only tech is used but more along the lines of "we yoink goodies from all around the universe and mix them up with other similar goodies to make them better." Aka what I thought a scientist would do in that situation.
    Basically guys what I really like to write out and what is more enjoyable for me to read is hypothesis regarding powers and tech. I'll give you an example:
    If I took health potions from various verses and tried to mix them up would it lead to an improved potion or not? If I grabbed Superman's eye beam and mixed that in a body with Cyclops' own eye beam how would this work? What would be the improvements over each one's version?

    This will be a huge part of the story. Even with character development and the creation of my multiversal empire I still want to tinker around with the tech and powers I get.
    So now that you guys know what I want to do with the story I need your guys' help with picking a new name. I have a few ideas of my own but I need you to suggest names and say if you like and think the name fits.

    My ideas are "A Tinker's Dream Trip" , "A Wannabe Researcher's Trip through the Multiverse", "A Researcher's Dream Trip", " A Researcher's Lab Diary"

    Tell me what you think and if you have any suggestions

    I think the current name can stay. There is nothing wrong with "A Scientific Empire".
    And there is absolutely nothing wrong if you randomly add some "data dump sections" in the form of reports, like those in Xcom.
    Where a scientist makes one report, and maybe we'd get a conversation recording regarding some things etc.

    It could be very nice in a story, especially one centered on obtaining and mixing various technological elements, for various uses.

    Thank you for the suggestion and the compliment, I'll have to research Factorio as I've never played it or seen it being played. I've only ever read stories on Factorio and nothing else.

    Though I'm actually suprised that no one (either in here or in Spacebattles) questioned why I put Hamilton the Musical or the The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in the Possible Universes list. Seems like something I'd ask if I found it in a story like this but I guess it's not that strange enough to get people interested.
    I was actually quite curious about the reactions to it. Oh well, gonna go back to working on the next chapter. See you guys

    your si isn't just going after tech he is going after smart ppl to man his lab and maby even colonists for the planet he is now based on or another in the solar system and maby a wafu or two lol who happens to be super smart
