A Simple Transaction

So, since it turns out that we haven't actually been told that physical training isn't feasible, why not wait with potentially crippling our future build until we check if it is needed?

Seram is not in a crisis at the moment, so he can afford to train for a few days first. We did after all successfully go for killing the orcs rather than Hide and Practice, so our growth speed should still be rather high.

Jokes aside, do consider how much you will put into these Titles. We have limited amount of titles we can equip. Chances are that we will get stronger Titles that we will want to focus on over these starting ones, at which point investing into them becomes inefficient. Same is true for Mark, as we will get stronger weapons, but Mark's entire point is short term gain anyway, so that doesn't matter nearly as much.

Of course, you can get titles that don't render weaker ones completely pointless .. but that would mean that you devalue any titles that do render them pointless, as you would prefer not to take them instead.

Huh. That does sound like the sort of thing he'd do. Make a route to power open to everyone and dependent only on hard work and sacrifice, as opposed to grace and luck.

Ironically, it only works 'for' people he's given permission to use it.

It's not what you know, but who...

Can't have his enemies just straight-up using his Strategic arsenal against him, after all.

Even at level 7.39e34, one cannot escape necessity, it seems.

Constitution looks to be winning, and it's a rough parity between the Stranger and the Mark.

Oh man, is it actually Odyssial/Ulyssian? That's so silly in so many ways but it's nice to see him again. Kinda reminds me of the cheesy Council stuff from earlier quests; I'd be happy if it comes back in some form.

Still, I would've thought his shaping defenses would stop him from getting cursed like that? It must've been voluntary, maybe as a price paid for some monumental act or maybe as XP multipliers.

Also, turns out we passed up on getting Odyssial's favour/asking for his help with optimisation. Good job team :V

Ahhhh, why do people like The Stranger so much? Instead of getting an supremely rare opportunity to apply our Remmittance to actually improving our social capability or getting the ability that most benefits quick leveling, why are so many people going with something not particularly helpful in any way?

What are you planning to use it for? What kind of leverage do you think can be applied with it that makes preferable to the other options? We have no gameplan so far, we are shit at manipulating people unless it's to convince them of our evil, and the Wits as terrible scaling without even the promise if rapid acquisition of power to justify.

Please, if you want to capitalize on our impression, pick A Force Truly Evil; if you want quick power, pick Orcsbane; There is no need to pick something of so little value.

[X] A Force Truly Evil

[X] Strength

Its the only title that remains relevant throughout the course of the quest and isn't as weird as stranger.

We don't know how long any title will stay truly relevant besides having faith in our awesome QM.
I do however feel the need to point out that The Stranger is a title that grows, it says so in the description: "Effects can be strengtened over time."

Yeah but the Stranger is really cool. I say this as someone who voted for A Force Truly Evil until I had to get tactical but even then, I still thought the Stranger was cooler than either of the two combined.

Poor Seram. What if he ends up like the Heroine, a weapon pointed at the orcs dancing on the puppet strings of the entrenched nobles?

Alright guys, I think we're gonna want to find the nearest concentration of powerful nobles to stab in the face so we can get fighting the Heroine out of the way.

>charm Heroine
>marry her
>live long and fulfilling life together
>she dies few years before time limit due the old age

Or, realistically

>try to talk to Heroine
>spill ALL the spaghetti

Thematics in my case - I like the synergy it has IC given Melas POV.

However, with that said, I would be fine with Orcsbane winning as well, I just don't want A Force Truly Evil to win and our way of interacting with others to be through intimidation. While mysteriousness can be mitigated through Seram no longer being a mystery "A Force Truly Evil" really drives in the negativity (it's right there in the name) and has Seram reinforcing that negative view of him just to interact.

This deserves a proper soundtrack.

Fortunately, I have found one.

YOU MOTHERFUCKERS

Making an omake based on my personal favorite goddamn aesthetic AND referencing only my favorite goddamn animated film of all time?! And it's Seram dominating in a goddamn minivan against Romus and a Racer X/Deadcruiser/mystery racer legend Chosen One?!

I hope y'all are ready for some fucking FANART FOR THAT SHIT, BECAUSE THAT RIGHT THERE IS AESTHETIC GOLD

... when i get done with work and my last minute literary analysis essay today. Sobs into the distance

>try to talk to Heroine
>spill ALL the spaghetti

But if we get the Stranger, then on the surface we'll look calm and ready, as though we're about to drop bombs in the conversation but Seram, despite his prodigious intellect allowing him to prepare, will forget what he wrote down in advance.

Presumably, this will be in a ballroom or other high society event and, due to the meeting of two incredibly powerful people, everyone will be eavesdropping in, as though they were a crowd, though they'd go so loud and so far in pretending that they're not listening. Seram would try to open his mouth but the words simply won't come out.

Seram would realise that he's choking even as the nobles start joking about how the Stranger is simply staring at the hero. At some point, Seram's internal clock would run out and he'd realise he'd realise that the time he had to make a positive-ish impression would be up and then he'd just annihilate the ballroom in some kind of blast. Blaow.

Regarding a force truly evil, Rihaku said it also grows, into something that can intimidate conceptually. Beyond people and up to the laws of reality. As quoted below.

Rihaku said:
At very high levels, you might be able to use Intimidation for more than just social effects as well. Scaring the laws of reality into bending towards you whims, for example.
