Heh, I underestimated how difficult it is to avoid spoiling anything for you guys in my enthusiasm for my future plans. I have to remember that I'm the author now, and I have to be all aloof and mysterious and stuff, only giving out occasional likes to confuse my readers as they try to puzzle out which part of the relevant post is a hint to future developments.
The weapon discussion is great, and I hope what I have in mind will satisfy you. Who knows, maybe the discussion will produce a better idea than I would have used, and I'll have to steal it.
I will say that Crescent Rose was not entirely dependent on Ruby's canon Semblance, since she could choose to use
either her Semblance or its recoil to get the necessary boosts. In the Red Trailer for example (which may have been made before Semblances were even a part of the world building), the only times I think Ruby may have used her Semblance was in her initial teleport into the air and her final rush attack. Notice that the only rose petals seen are from the Beowolf corpses. The rest of it is all CR and her skill with it.
