The votes are tied and most of the regular voters have already cast their votes...there is no way I can really write a compromise update, so if by this time tomorrow the votes are still tied I'm just going to decide it myself.

If you object to this action then speak now.

10. The Club.
[] Wait for Rei.
-[] Look for a way to sneak in while waiting.
-[] Charge through the front if a sneaky way in can't be found.

A tap and a thought directed at your device is all it take for you to notify Rei, but there's no knowing how long it will take for her to arrive. In the time it takes you to complete this small task, Kyoko has already made a beeline for the front door of the club. You rush after the brash young girl and manage to pull her back just as she was about to break her way into the building.

"Do you usually just force your way into a dangerous location?" you say, scolding the girl.

Kyoko shrugs as she replies, "It's worked for me so far."

"Regardless, there is someone else we should wait for before engaging the enemy. In the meantime we should find a way inside that isn't liable to get us immediately noticed."

Kyoko grumbles at your words but goes along with your plan. The alleyway long the club's side offers no method of entry, while the rear entrance is connected to an alarm spell. Which would alert the Youma inside giving them time to prepare or flee. The windows of the building along the first and second floors are similarly enchanted. The roof is the only other possible location for an entrance. Leaping up is only a trivial task for both you and Kyoko. Looking around you finally find what you were searching for, a hatch leading from the roof to the club that happens to lack any sort of alarm of enchantment. The lock on the hatch might as well have not existed as Kyoko's spear slices right through the bolt, and a quick look reveal a storage room empty save for some cleaning supplies.

"So who's this other person you're waiting on?" Kyoko asks, as she sits down with a box of Rocky.

"Sailor Mars, and before you ask she is not like you. Her magic comes from entirely different source and likely uses different mechanics." You explain, even though Kyoko gives no indication of actually listening.

The minutes seem to drag on as the two of you wait for Sailor Mars. Until finally, with a leap from a neighboring building, she lands upon the rooftop only a short distance away from you. She glances over the edge at the street below, "So, this is the doing of the Dark Kingdom." As she looks back she spots the now rising form of Kyoko, "Sakura-san, is that you?"

"Huh… do I know you?" the other magical girl asks, squinting with confusion at Sailor Mars.

"This can wait," you interject. "now, we strike."

Without further ado you drop down through the roof and into the club with your two comrades in tow. As you land a resounding manic laughter echos up from the lower level. You force open the door and dash out onto a walkway overlooking the main floor of the club. The source of the laughter is a woman standing on the club's stage, she's holding a ball of concentrated magical energy visible even without your expanded senses. As you watch another woman drops down from the rafters with her own ball of energy. Between the two of them a small dark portal opens up which sucks in the concentrated magical energy, simultaneously the two women's human appearances warp away revealing the crimson fur and three canine heads for the first and the wicked claws and bat wings of the second. There is no mistaking them now, they are certainly Youma and your group has the element of surprise. Beside you Rei recoils in shock for a second before steeling herself, while Kyoko cracks her neck and grins in anticipation.

[X] Let Kyouko have her pick of Youma, and Double team the other one with Mars.
-[X] If at all possible, capture one to interrogate for intel, using paralyzing and binding magic.

[X] Cat's Cradle to bind the winged one heavily before it can take off, then rush in to cripple the wing and literally disarm it with the axe. Rei and Kyouko double team the three headed one from opposite sides, it can face both ways at once, but its body can't.
-[X] If at all possible, capture one to interrogate for intel.

Any particular purpose to live capture or no point?
Don't recall...

Capture rarely turned up in the show so I'd be interested to see how it'd play out here.

In character Luna wouldn't have much info on the 'Dark Kingdom', its purpose, or operations. It also hasn't been confirmed whether these are Dark Kingdom or one of their numerous copycats.

And if there is someone on our side that has been turned, interrogation may let us find out who. If its someone other than Mamoru, Beryl's probably not in charge this time around.

Edited a capture attempt in, though note that Luna's NOT got any long term binding or paralysis effects short of lopping chunks off.

Consolidating this with the one without the capture option.

"I'll handle the bat Youma, you two can take care of the dog be ready to strike when I teleport in. Also, if possible try to capture your Youma, they might have some intelligence we could use, but don't put yourselves in unnecessary risk."

The two girls sneak along the edge of the walkway, as they move Kyoko whispers, "'I'm guessing you're new at this, so you better listen to me 'cause I've been doing stuff like this for a long time newbie."

"Hmph, fine Sakura-san."

"Grab its attention while I hit it, if it's still standing you hit it." Kyoko's plan is met with a stony silence and a cool nod.

As soon as the others are in position you activate Spaltbeil weaving a hundred Cat's Cradle strings restraining the monstrous bat. The same instant that the bindings form, you teleport directly in front of your target already swinging .

4d20+26 = 76#Giant Ax Surprise.

Before the Youma even knows what is happening you slam Spaltbeil's blade into her with enough force to create a crater as the Youma is driven to the ground. Despite this devastating attack, your opponent is still moving, twitching its talons, and with each motion the dark blades cut away more and more of the binding strings.

4d20+26 = 76 #Second hit
1d100 = 58 # Youma Defense 76
Fail

Your second strike comes soon after the first, once again slamming into the still mostly immobile Youma. However just as the blow was about to connect, the bat freed on of its clawed hands and raised it in a hasty block. Sparks fly as your device meets the dark magic within the talons, but it isn't enough as the Youma's arm is split down the middle and each half crumbles to dust.

1d100+10 = 38 #bat's screech

Suddenly the Youma breaks into a grin as she passes her remaining hand in front her face. Her mouth splits open monstrously wide as she bellows out a scream. The sound impacts your chest with enough force to push you a step back as the Youma finally manages to stand back up.

'There's no way I can get anything out of this one without risking a hit from that scream.'

1d100+14+7 = 52 #desperate lunge
1d100+26-7 = 62 #Axe guard
Success
1d8 = 4 #penetrating damage

With the speed and desperation of a wounded beast, the bat lunges at you with her remaining hand. In response, you raise Spaltbeil in a guard and deflect her talons across the ax's cheek. Despite this some of the dark magic coating the talons passes right through your guard until it is absorbed by your Knight's Garb.

1d100+26 = 72 #finish her
1d100-15 = -6 #no chance
4d20+26 = 75 #the final blow

At this range there is no chance for the Youma to dodge and with one final decisive swing you part the Youma's head from her body. As the head drops it along with the body drain of color and collapse into dust.

"Luna, it's running for the doors!" You hear Rei shout

A you begin your assault on the bat, Rei leaps from the balcony, springs off of the dog Youma's head, and lands striking an accusatory pose.

"Soldier of Flame and Passion, Pretty Sailor Suited Soldier, Sailor Mars! In the name of Mars, I will chastise you!"

3d20+24 = 56 #surprise Spear

The Youma wheels around to staredown Rei, snarling out, "A Sailor?! I'll de-"The hound's words devolve into a gurgling scream by Kyoko driving her spear straight through her back.

1d20*3+10 = 61 #counter grab
1d20+12 = 21 #This is just a formality.
1d20*3+10 = 37 #counter grab bite

Two pairs of arms suddenly erupt from the hound's back, latching onto Kyoko's arms and legs. Kyoko struggles against the Youma's hold, thrashing against the monster's arms with all her strength, but slowly she is drawn in and the two outer heads sink their teeth into Kyoko's flesh.

1d100+23 = 89 #Ofuda throwing
1d100+10-8 = 59 #Dodge while grappling
5d10+11*2 = 48 #Akuryo Taisan
1D10*3 = 27 #Kyoko does not like fire.

"Akuryo Taisan!" Rei shouts, throwing an Ofuda at the Youma's skull. With Kyoko in her jaws and arms the Youma can't even bend out of the way and the tag flies true. The tag sparks with magical power before exploding into a ball of orange flame incinerating two of the hound's heads. A tongue of flame reaches past the monster and brushes against Kyoko who recoils with enough manic force to break free. Most of the dog like Youma's body explodes into a cloud of dust, as a single headed version of the dog, the size of a child, dashes out on all fours.

"Luna, it's running for the doors!" Rei shouts, already aiming a spell at the Youma. But, she is interrupted as Kyoko forcefully grabs her.

"You nearly roasted me. Don't. Do. That. Again." Kyoko growls out from between gritted teeth.

Rei bows her head as she answers, "I know its not susposed to harm people, I don't know what went wrong."

You turn already readying Cat's Cradle as you spot the fleeing Youma. It makes a mad leap for the doorway, and lands in a waiting net of magic strings. You run forward and grab hold of the beast before it has the chance to break any of the strings.

However as soon as you lay hands on the captured Youma it screams, "LONG LIVE QUEEN BERYL!" and she drains of color and breaks apart into dust, committing suicide to deprive you of anything it might have known.

Looking back at the two girls, it appears that they have having a tense stare-down. It looks like you might have to intervene...

(OOC Sorry about the slowness of this update, the fight scene kind of fought me as I was writing it...)

[X] Mediate between the girls.
-[X] For the love of Serenity don't accuse Kyoko of being an enemy!

Try not to lay the blame on Rei or Kyoko. It was Rei's first time fight, and no one was seriously injured. Rei now knows her fire will burn some allies, without having burned an ally to death. If its necessary, take responsibility as the one in charge.

For that matter, is there some way we can get and pay for a medical plan of some sort? Without compromising their identities of course.

-[X] Mention that Sailor Mars' magic should not be capable of harming normal humans. Has she been modified? Perhaps by that invisible creature?

Remember that barring actual knowledge or proof that Mars didn't intend to burn her and didn't KNOW she could be burned(her flames only burn evil after all....) Kyouko is going to treat it like the direct attack on her that it was from her perspective.

Yeah, sounds good.

Kyoko is very much aware that she is not a normal human. Especially since Luna dropped the info her soul was outside her body on her.

We were aware that she is not a Sailor Scout when we allied with her.

Mentioning Sailor Mars fire only burns evil creatures is likely to sound to Kyoko that we are blaming her for getting burned. Because we would be calling her an evil creature!

And it wouldn't gain us any new information, because poking the lich bomb was already incorporated into a previous vote.

Let's not alienate Kyoko by saying she wouldn't have been burned if she wasn't evil!

-[X] Don't talk about Mars' fire only burning evil or anything.
-[X] Just point out that Mars was trying to help Kyoko because she was concerned for Kyoko's safety, and that fortunately there was no lasting harm done, and we have all learned a lesson.
--[X] In fact, this is primary evidence that we need to spend time practicing combat together so we can make sure that no one gets hurt in the real thing. Kyoko, you have a lot of experience, would you like to pick the first training session topic?

First of all, I'm not even sure that is true. Is there canonical evidence that Fire Soul won't burn mortals?

It is true that the Ofuda should not have burned anything that wasn't... unnatural.

Oh joy... Mars would not be Mars without the tension with her teammates.

Also, I love Kyouko's plan. Very simple and direct. How will she handle the Mercury?

Actually... that's sort of interesting. Usually Ami is the mediator, but if Kyouko is part of the team, then there actually might be common conflict between her and Mercury. Mars will probably side with Mercury, and Venus will love Kyoko's bluntness. That... would make Moon and Jupiter the mediators?

Nice! It must be part of the magic.

Kyoko is very much aware that she is not a normal human. Even if she doesn't know the specifics of Kyuuby placing her soul in her gem to remote control her body.

Uh...what's actually SAID is that it doesn't burn normal humans. She's not a normal human.

Ergo the IFF must be screwing up.(though of course this is unusual and also easily proven that she couldn't burn people)

You managed to post right when I was editing that post, so you might want to recheck it.

But the gist of my statement has not changed, and that is that her not being a normal human is a big "DUH of course she's not a normal human!"

Blaming the fire burning her on her not being a normal human is nonsense.

We knew she wasn't a normal human! We should've been more careful!

There is no point to explaining Mars fire doesn't burn normal people, as we knew Kyoko wasn't normal from the start. We chose to not personally assist Mars in her first fight. We didn't even warn Mars, just sent her off to fight with Kyoko while we soloed the bird.

The one to blame for Kyoko getting burned is Luna, and there isn't a reasonable way to shift that blame to Kyuubey.

There is also no need to keep poking the lich bomb, as we have already dropped it!

Also this is Luna, and Canonically she has a habit of thinking people are from the Dark Kingdom and blurting it out. So specifying to not do that is a reasonable precaution.
