[X] Ask what your old name was
[X] The Sword Unfettered
"Who…am I?" You ask, looking at the woman with a questioning gaze.
"Your name when you had your service was Fort Mills, although most called you by the island name. Corregidor."
"Corregidor…" You hum, before flashes of the last time you'd been active cross your vision. A flush of slight pride washes over you, a morbid giggle crosses your lips as you remember the kill-death and injured ratios in your last day in US service for the next three years.
For every five Americans or Filipino volunteers injured, six Imp soldiers suffered the same.
For every eight Allied deaths, nine Imps followed.
You are broken out of your musing as the goddess seems to study your face as your face relaxes. "Now that you remember who you are, have you come to a decision?"
"Well, while I do feel like I hold more loyalties to my constructors, you did explain that the world has changed around me. If the world chooses to attack me, I shall respond in kind." You nod, confident in your choice, at least for now.
The goddess smiles. "I could ask for nothing more, but I must warn you. One of my earlier champions has sent forces to awaken you, they are coming ashore as we speak." She says smiling, before fading away.
Your eyes snap open, bringing your eyes to your surroundings.
Standing next to one of your batteries of 6" goodness, you raise a hand and stroke the steel, only now having been rid of any damages it could have received, you honestly couldn't remember if it had. But you feel instantly more connected to it as your hand touches the cold steel.
Turning your gaze to the north east, you watch as a swarm of miniature beings - Imps, your mind supplies - rush into defensive positions, you hadn't seen or heard any fire or smoke, but your garrison seemed to be preparing anyway.
Not that their rifles and pistols would do anything to, if what the goddess implied was correct, warships walking on land.
It isn't long before you hear voices as clumsy feet stamp onto your land each step the owners of these feet take you feel.
"Ya sure this is the place Chialla? Cause it feels like a whole buncha nothing here," you hear without physically being present.
"Course I'm sure Kanna," another replied moments before she trips on nothing with an undignified squawk.
"Shut up both of you! you're bothering Mania with all the chatter instead of finding this nexus or whatever to awaken Corregidor," another voice interjected more sure footed you can tell as they delicately weave closer to you.
You still have some time before they find you even longer if you decide to make it difficult to find you and your imps.
