Foreword 03
"Sure, I don't see why not," you respond with a shrug. You're tired, but not enough to go back to sleep, so it would have been quite boring to stay here alone. "They say two heads are better than one."

"In that case..." For a few brief seconds, she looks you up and down, apparently analyzing every part of your body. "We'll have to do something about your clothes; they're not suitable for the freezing weather outside."

"What's wrong with my clothes?" Confused, you tilt your head to one side. Until now, you hadn't noticed, so you tilt your head down. Your eyes widen as you realize you're wearing little more than a simple white shirt, barely covering the upper part of your body.

You look at StG with a blank expression. "Explain, now," you almost made it sound like an order.

At first, she seemed not to understand your question, but quickly her mind made all the necessary connections and her mouth let out an 'Oh' before she responded. "If you mean what happened to your clothes, I had to throw them away since they were nothing more than a bunch of torn and burned fabric that could hardly be considered clothing."

"I get that..." you say, letting out a small sigh, "But what am I going to wear then?" You really hope she doesn't think you'll settle for just wearing this shirt. "I suppose you have something prepared for me, right?"

"Of course," she replies quickly, sounding even a bit offended. "I have plenty of spare clothes you can use." She gestures to her uniform with a proud smile. "The only problem is, I'm not sure if they'll fit you."

"I'm fine with that." You shrug again; it's not like you have another option. It's either that or stay in the shirt you're wearing, and you're definitely not a pervert who would do that if another option is available. "Wearing clothes that are the wrong size will just be a minor inconvenience."

"Alright... then." She walks past you and heads to the lockers on the other side of the room. She stands in front of them with a thoughtful expression and enters a numerical combination into the lock of one, causing it to open with a small sound.

Inside was... a weapon. You seriously wonder why StG has a weapon in an infirmary, but you just shake your head and conclude it's probably because she's a warship, and it must be normal for a warship to be armed to the teeth.

Are there weapons under your bed? You can't help but wonder.

"Wrong locker..." she murmurs before closing it casually, not bothering about the weapon inside. A shadow of concern appears on her face as she enters another combination into the locker next to it, but it disappears when she sees the interior.

Inside, you see a black uniform, exactly like the one StG is wearing, hanging on a hanger. She takes it with one hand, along with a few other items, and returns to you. "Here." She hands you the uniform. "You can wear this for now, and I'll wait outside to give you some privacy. Just call me when you're done."

"Alright." You nod and give her a grateful smile. "Thanks."

Once StG disappears on the other side of the door, the first thing you do is check the clothes she gave you. They consist of a white shirt, a black skirt and coat, black stockings and long boots, and finally, but not least, a black tie and cap.

Well, she really likes black apparently

Careful not to strain your injured legs, you get up from the bed, determined not to waste more time... But before that, you quickly crouch down to peek under the bed. A part of you feels disappointed not to find any weapons. It was expected, but you were a bit curious.

You could open the locker and see the weapon; after all, you remember the combination StG used to open it: '2444'. But you dismiss the idea quickly. Doing that would be incredibly rude on your part; you don't touch other people's things without permission.

Maybe you could ask her to teach you how to shoot later?

Anyway, you decide to focus on the clothes. Careful not to make any sudden movements that would cause you pain, you put on the white shirt, which, despite its apparent simplicity, is surprisingly soft to the touch and a bit warm.

Then you go for the black skirt and coat, both seemingly made of thick, warm material, quite suitable for a cold climate, as StG had said it was outside. Although you're not sure how effective the skirt will be, as it's too short for your liking.

On the other hand, your biggest and main problem were the stockings and boots, which you managed to put on with much effort. It was hell to avoid ruining the bandages, but luckily, most of the injuries are concentrated higher up, on your thighs. Otherwise, you would have had to forgo both the stockings and the boots.

And having to walk barefoot doesn't seem very comfortable or hygienic.

After that, you put on the tie, with much more difficulty than you expected, mainly because you had to take off the coat, having forgotten the tie at first. Even without that, the tie was quite a challenge. And to complete your new uniform, you put the cap on your head.

It's not your size, just as StG had said, but it's good enough for you. You wonder if the uniform makes you look more serious or maybe even professional and elegant. You wish you had a mirror on hand to check.

Although you're almost sure that if someone saw you standing next to StG, at first glance they might think you are her...

[ ] Younger sister. (13-15 years old) (Grants a youthful and harmless appearance. As a result, people will trust you more easily due to your relatively innocent appearance, but the downside is that they might not take you seriously.)

[ ] Twin sister. (16-18 years old) (Grants the appearance of a teenager on the verge of adulthood. You convey a bit more maturity and confidence, so people might take you more seriously, but the downside is that they will no longer be as susceptible to trusting you.)

[ ] Older sister. (19-21 years old) (Grants the appearance of a young adult. People are more likely to take you seriously, but the downside is that you might seem somewhat distant and unapproachable to some, making them less likely to trust you.)

You smile to yourself as you adjust the cap before calling out to StG with a simple, "I'm ready!" and she reenters.

For a second, she looks you up and down and gives you an approving smile. "It suits you well, better than I expected."

"Thanks," you reply, feeling a bit flattered. "You look good too."

"Now we can head to the command bridge," she says, pointing to the door. "Please follow me close up; it would be bad if you got lost on the ship."

You nod and follow her out of the infirmary, but it only takes a few steps to feel the oppressive atmosphere of the place. The steel walls, the lights, the silence, and the echo of your footsteps make you feel a bit uncomfortable; it's very different from the infirmary.

StG seems to notice your discomfort, as she looks at you curiously. "Is everything alright?"

Things are never 'alright,' you should know that.

You were about to tell her that nothing was wrong, but at that moment you feel your stomach quietly protest and remember that you literally went almost a whole day without eating or drinking anything. "Actually, can we get some food and water along the way? After 19 hours, I'm kind of hungry and thirsty."

"I'm fine with whatever you have available," you quickly add after thinking for a moment. This is a warship, so it's expected there's nothing more than military rations. You can't afford to be picky.

"Food and water..." she murmurs thoughtfully before shrugging. "Sure, we can make a quick stop at the kitchen before heading to the command bridge."

You give her a small silent thank you as she guides you through some small detours to what you assume is the kitchen. The ship seems a bit larger than you expected at first, but the kitchen you arrive at... you don't even know how to describe it.

It's small, very small indeed, and it seems to have been built with the intention of occupying the least amount of space possible. Somehow, it still has all, or almost all, the instruments a kitchen needs.

As for the available food, you can only say that there are many different types of cans, a quantity you can only dream of counting. But besides that, there are also other types of food, mainly dry goods, sausages, some dairy products, and you even thought you saw sweet things like chocolate bars.

"There's nothing gourmet," StG comments. "But you can choose whatever you want."

"What I want?" You look at her uncertainly.

"It's just the two of us," she says carelessly. "No one's going to complain about us eating too much." With those words, she gives you a little push. "Don't be shy; eat as much as you want."

"With your permission then..." Naturally, with StG's permission, you let go and satisfy your hunger. Only now do you realize how much you needed that.

...

After that, StG guides you through the long corridors of the ship again, and finally, after ten minutes, you set foot in what you believe is the command bridge. "And here we are," she announces. "My command bridge."

"Wow..." It's all you can say as you look closely at all the instruments there. You know what some of them do, but besides that, you're unaware of the function of more than 90%. "I'm totally lost."

"Don't worry," StG puts her right hand on your shoulder. "I wouldn't understand anything either if I were in your situation."

"You're in my situation." You give her a blank look. "You don't remember anything either."

You approach the windows to get a view of the outside. Just as StG had told you, it seems you two are in the middle of an extensive sea that stretches as far as the eye can see, with some icebergs floating in the distance.

When you look at the ship's deck, what greets you is the imposing sight of two turrets with triple guns, along with a variety of smaller weapons. But the deck and many of the smaller weapons are damaged or destroyed, with charred black stains.

"These are damages caused by the battle I mentioned," StG stands beside you, contemplating the view and answering your question without you needing to ask. "Luckily, they only managed to destroy or damage some of my secondary and anti-aircraft weapons."

"How do these weapons work?" You ask with curiosity as you point to one of the cannons. "Do they aim automatically, or do you have to do something to aim?"

"It's like moving any limb of my body," she replies, and one of the smaller cannons rotates from side to side, as if waving. "It's hard to explain."

"Hmm?" A small sound catches your attention, and with curiosity, you check a small screen, which you think is a radar. "What's this?" There's a small dot that appeared on the edge of the screen. "An enemy?"

"It's the most likely scenario," was StG's response as she was also looking at the radar, although you don't know if she really needs to. "Let's change course."

As she mentions that, the ship tilts slightly to one side as it changes course.

"Aren't we going to investigate?" You tilt your head towards the radar. "Isn't it strange that there's only one?"

"No," she shakes her head. "It's probably a trap."

"Or it could be someone like you," you say, pointing to the radar. "Just like you, this 'enemy' seems to be alone."

That made her think for a moment. "I don't know... If we fall into a trap, I'm not sure I could win. There's a battleship, and possibly an aircraft carrier could also be hunting us, remember?"

...

[ ]Insist on investigating. It could be a friendly someone who, like you, is also lost.

[ ]StG is right. It could be a trap and if you two fall for it, you might not survive to tell the tale.

The good ol' dice...
I'm willing to change my vote if someone has a good idea for the write in.

By the way, they can suggest what kind of ship the characters that may appear throughout the quest may be. I will take them into account.
