Prologue Finale
"He has a right to know who we are, and what powers we bring to bear." Light stated as Dark clumsily laid down their new host on the rooftop.
"And make him frightened by the mere thought of using our power?" Dark replied. "You know our duty is to assist him, not make him ignore our every word because of who we are."
"And beginning our relationship on a lie is any better?" Light shot back.
"Better a lie that will help him become a better person who will trust then the truth that makes him hate us," Dark replied. "We're not going to have another-"
"He would understand." Light stated. "And you've felt his heart, and his spirit, it is nothing like him."
"And if he doesn't? And if the truth stifles his own potential because of it?" Dark asked. "Or worse, turns him into a monster?"
Light flinched, clenching his teeth, before letting out a sigh. A weary one that was far older than any on the planet, save one. "Fine. We'll do it your way. But we must tell him the truth. Sooner rather than later."
Dark nodded. "And we will. Just not now. I'm not basing my future off of your intuition. Not again."
Light nodded and frowned. "I know."

I awoke on a rooftop. I then noticed that my clothes had changed. Gone was my restaurant uniform, now I was wearing a red shirt, black sweatpants, and a jacket. The jacket was very interesting because it was a double-sided, the interior could be the exterior and vise versa. The black side is more of a sweatshirt, while the inside a raincoat.
"Uh… what am I wearing?" I said quietly to myself.
"Well, you were lacking in style and practical clothes," Dark stated as he stood over me. "So I, in my infinite wisdom, stole some clothes for you so you don't look like a homeless vagabond with a work shirt and torn up pants."
Oh no. "Than we need to return this stuff!"
I turned to see Light sitting on the wall, his hand firmly on his face as he shook his head. "We didn't steal anything, he's just messing with you."
I relaxed slightly before I noticed the rooftop. "How did I get here?"
"Took your body for a bit of a spin. Dreadfully hard to do by the way, with you being unconscious after all, and us relying on you to...well get around." Dark replied.
I turned to Light. "What does he mean?"
Light sighed. "Hello, Simon." He said your name with reverence. "We are the two angels of Darkness and Light, bound to your soul."
Angels? "Like Gabrial and Michel?" I asked.
Dark laughed. "Nah, not like those two, we're more… hands on. And stuck with you."
"Why?" I asked.
"Don't know, the Presence just said we're helping you in your second chance at life, and give you the power to help the people who need it in this world," Dark replied. "And in his words might I add 'No take backs on the powers.'"
"And what power is that?" I asked again. "Because I don't feel anything different about myself, besides hearing you two."
Light stood up. "Actually, we are the difference. When I said we were bound to your soul, we meant it. We are now part of your very being. It leads to some… very interesting perks."
Dark was grinning. "Oh, can I go first?! Please please please!" He was acting like a child in a candy store… and Light was trying to indulge him.
"Ah yes… Well, we might as well get it over with so it won't be a surprise later. Light sighed. "Follow my instructions, please. Ready Dark?"
Dark smiled. "Let's burn this town to the ground!" he shouted. Light frowned, and I looked on at the Dark Angel with horror on my face. "I'm kidding. Relax, take a joke sometimes." He gave a small laugh.
I looked at Light. "So what do I do?"
Light gazed at Dark for a moment before looking back at you. "You know Latin?" He asked.
I nodded yes. "Kinda… I mean, I've read Caesar's Commentaries."
Light sighed. "Beggars can't be choosers." He whispered, knowing full well I could hear him. "Good, say moon in Latin, and you should feel it."
"Will it hurt?" I asked.
"No, it shouldn't hurt." Light replied.
Alright. "Luna." I said the word and then I felt it. My body ached and burned, but somehow I was still standing. A fire burned in my veins, and bones cracked as I felt something on my back slowly grow out of my back, somehow going through the clothes on my back. My hair grew longer, and I could see the long black locks covered my eyes before somehow moving over to the side. On my side, was Dark's Katana.
I took a deep breath and felt Dark's presence in my mind. "Finally." I felt my hand move on its own and draw the blade.
The steel shimmered in the sunlight and I held it like a master, my fingers wrapping around the hilt in a way that made the blade feel comfortable in my hands.
"Wow," I whispered, feeling my body move on its own as Dark laughed. "How is this possible?"
"Dark's spirit has melded with your own, and your body underwent a transformation that will assist you in helping people." Light replied. "Saying the word is a bit of a code phrase so to speak. We both have one. Luna is Darks, and Sol is mine."
"The sun." I translated instinctively as if I was getting asked for the English translation in a classroom. "Um…" the wings on my back flapped. "How do I control these?"
Light sighed as if what I was asking was stupid. "Just think of them as still and then they'll stop."
I tried to do that, and the wings stopped, and they folded behind me. "So… Do I have any powers that you give me?"
Lights eyes narrowed slightly. "Besides a healing factor, the ability to fly, enchanted scenes, master swordsman abilities and above average strength than an average human? No."
There was a tenseness in his voice, as Light's teeth clattered shut, and his hand clenched, but I didn't really think of it.
"So your both interchangeable?" I asked.
"No… Dark is a much better swordsman and warrior than I am, and I am a much better… strategist and a people person. We help you, with our wisdom and training that melds with your own, while you control your body." Light replied.
"How do I become me again?" I asked. "When the stuff is all over?"
"Say hominum." Dark said in my head.
Human… "Hominum." I whispered and the burning sensation happened again. The wings retreated into my body, and the sword disappeared. My hair changed back to it's buzzed brown original form, and I felt… lessor. I did not notice the power that was in my veins before this moment, and now that it was gone, I felt empty.
"Well, how did you like it?" Dark asked as he walked back into my view.
"That was awesome." I stated.
Light gave a small smile. "I'm glad you feel that way. But we're going to need to work on a few things with you, once we have a place to settle down."
I nodded. "Yeah. Thank you."
Dark than hummed. "Hey, Superman is flying over again."
Wait what?
Looking up to the sky, it was not a bird, not a plane… It was a man. A flying man in a blue costume with a red cape flowing behind him.
Oh… "Oh."
I was in the DC Universe. A universe full of superheroes and supervillains, where the Earth was under constant threat from alien invasions, global destroying events and evil tyrants that had superpowers.
A place where even superpowers did not mean safety.
"Oh Fuck."
AN: And here we go.
