A Guard in The Prison of Eternity

The rules and opening

"We will vote. Death, freedom or service." The voice was strong and powerful, and filled with reluctance. It had spoken for you throughout the trial, or whatever this was. From what had been said you managed to discover that they were called Michael. It was a strongly common name for such a strange situation.

"Death."

"Death."

"Service."

"Service."

"Service."

"Death."

"Service."

"Death."

"Service."

"Service."

"Death."

"Death."

Twelve voices cast their votes. You had learned many of them in the hours that you had spent here. Chained down, eyes covered by a hood of thick, coarse cloth, a metal collar around your neck. You didn't know why you were here or what was going on, just that your fate was being decided.

"Service." Your supporter spoke again, casting the deciding vote. Absently you notice that no one voted for freedom, perhaps your supporter would have, but if he had voted for anything other than service death would have been the winning vote.

A new voice spoke up, he had not spoken before but you heard him vote for service. "Very well, it appears they are now my responsibility." He had a heavy Australian accent, and he waited a moment between every word that would have made him seem a bit simple if it wasn't for the fact that his voice and tone held a dangerous sort of confidence that was impossible to dismiss.

"Don't say it like this is some trial for you, Cerberus. This only benefits you." This voice was unmistakably female, a high melodious tone who's beauty did little to hide the anger in her voice.

"What benefits me benefits all of us. But then again I suppose a two-bit thief like you would struggle to understand something that doesn't directly benefit you, and you alone."

"Enough, both of you. We are the Governors, act like it." It was the voice of an old man that still held all the vigour of a young one.

Mollified Cerberus and the woman fall silent. The old man continues. "We have voted and service has been chosen. Cerberus, they are now in your care. If you wish I can lend you transportation, you have little presence outside of Australia."

"Cerberus spoke up again, and his voice was seemingly dripping with self-satisfaction. "I thank you for your offer Odin, but Pantheons aid is unnecessary. I already have suitable transportation available."

"So you already knew how the votes would be cast."

"No, but freedom would never happen and I was willing to bet after the events of last month the Governors would swing towards service to ensure The Prison remains secure. Now, if the Governors would excuse me, I must transport them at once, as necessary as this is after recent events I am anxious to leave The Prison without myself for any longer than absolutely necessary."

The collar that adorns your neck heats up for a moment, before a feeling of numbness seeps throughout your body. You can feel yourself losing consciousness, you can't feel your limbs. And then the small pinpricks of light you can see through the hood also go out.

Rules

1. The usual site rules are still going on. I don't expect anyone here to be that stupid, but may as well say it anyway.
2. No god modding.
3. You will die at some point. Don't moan when it happens.
4. Player killing is allowed, but you will need to cover it up or you will be next.
5. Be polite, repeatedly being caustic will get you kicked. An angry outburst is fine if apologised for. Being horrible is not.
6. Send in applications via PM.
7. Your character knows nothing about the magical side of the world yet. This is modern times and that's all they know. You can have stuff in the back story that may be magic but run it by me first.
8. Have fun.

I think this would rather belong to the Roleplaying section.
Grand Strategy is for controlling nations, factions and large groups in general.

Everybody excited for basically being tossed into a jail and told we have a job to do?

DOOM! DOOOOM!

Also, when's the IC going up? Bring on the inevitable horrible demise!
Sorry about the delay. I had half finished the opening then I was called in for some emergency final adjustments for my groups piece at the local drama festival.

And then she also called us in today.

Free day tomorrow though so it will be up then.
