A Game of Kings (ASOIaF/Gamer quest)

[X] Yes
[X] Targaryen

After some consideration I'm choosing Targ. +10 for haggling, better wages, asking someone for training etc. The storyline should be interesting as well.

Will of the Green knight
[x] Yes

You looked at the screen in front of you, somewhat curious about what exactly it meant, and confused. Your father had never left you anything after he'd died, and it certainly wouldn't ave been a letter! You didn't even know how to read before these screens started popping up in front of you, so how could you have received such a thing and used it?

But now you could read whatever that was, and you were very curious about what your father's last words were to be, so you pressed the button affirming that you would take the quest. Who knows, maybe it could end up being an adventure like the ones mother talked about in her stories?

Quest accepted!

Note: Quests are tasks that you will come across as you live you life in Westeros. They allow you to interact with others around you, and the world itself! Completing quest awards you experience, which allows you to level up and become more powerful, and various other things.

Legendary quests are complete stories in and of themselves, and you can have two active at a time maximum. These quests often come with smaller goals to guide you along the way, and have their own rewards. Completing these quests often takes a lot of commitment, but the pay off very well!

Soon after reading the screen, you could hear someone knocking on the door of your house. You went over and opened it to see Nic, the town's blacksmith, standing before you. He looked a bit uneasy, and had something in his hands.

"Hey, kid. I'd been thinking about this for a long time after your father passed, but he left something behind for you. Said it would be something I should give to you when I figured you were ready. Now I'm not sure whether or not that is the case, but you seem to be handling yourself well so I thought you could take whatever it was he had to say." He moved the object in his hands, which happened to be the letter mentioned in the quest if your initial guess was correct. "If you need any help, you can always stop by the forge to talk to me. I'll see you around."

And like that, he turned and left to go back to his home. You looked over the letter, made from plain but faded parchment tied with a ribbon. You took the time to carefully unroll the thing, trying your best not to damage it, and then sat down within the area illuminated by a nearby window to read what your father had left you.

To my dear son,

If you are reading this, I have passed away. I know that I may not have been the best father to you, nor have I been the best person I could have been in this life. I was a destitute hedge knight when I met your mother, years ago, and I brought upon her life more worries than she could have imagined. But I loved her, and when the two of us married I vowed to leave whatever of the life I lived behind. Of course, I had been doing what I had years ago too long to have just given that up. I compromised, burying my old gear within the place that I had first met her all that time ago. I know that every since your were a boy that you were infatuated with the idea of knighthood and their stories. So I have given you directions to the place I buried the arms and armor that I used so long ago within this letter. Should you choose to follow that path, I wish you luck on your journey and hope that your sword swings true once more.

The gods know that mine did not every time.

Goodbye, and good luck,

Your father, Dam, "The Green Knight"

As you finished the letter, you couldn't help but feel a little excited at the prospect. Your father had left you his old gear! Though the arms and armor might not be in the best condition after all of the years, you could actually start out with something to do! And you were in the Reach, land of chivalry and grand tourneys. There were so many opportunities now, and it seemed like they had all been opened up for you to see. Your glee even made the small screen that appeared look less than annoying.

New objective added to quest:
Find your father's old equipment and unearth it.
Reward: +2000 XP, whatever is buried there, progress in the quest.

You closed the thing, only to find yourself in front of a list of similar things, with the Legendary quest up at the top. As you looked on, it showed a plethora of possible opportunities for you to take and make the most out of. You idly browsed the numerous things there, before deciding on what you were going to do for most of the next week.

Okay guys, what if we become a member of the troupe?

I think the two most important quests for us are the one where we help the knight and the one where we help with the horses. As, first off, we get joust and horse riding skills, both super important. The joust thing is great because, well, we specifically noted in character that we might be interested in the knightly tournaments and that is one of the best ways for us to gain money and status. The horse thing is obvious, it gives us horse riding skills and that is super useful no matter what we chose to do.

Plus, there are question marks like this "???" in the knights quest which usually means a special reward. i'm thinking maybe squire hood if we impress him enough?

That's also the reason I want to do the thief quest, it has the "???" thing, which usually indicated something special might happen.

I doubt the armour will be in good condition if its been buried for a decade, but I suppose it's better than nothing. Also, holy hell our Endurance is low - if we intend to join a melee/tourney/something of that nature we'll definitely want that increased. I assume completing tasks that require it will help increase it? And how is Tumbling a travel skill? o_O

No, only leveling will increase it. Such is life as a videogame character. This was already said flat out last post.

Edit: Which reminds me. You have 15 points to spend on stats. Any plans for those would be appreciated.

Question. Will our physical stats naturally improve as we grow older? If so, what happens to the stat points we put into it?

Also, why is perception a physical stat?
