A Force, Undying (New Jedi Order CK2 Quest)

Out of curiosity, why invest a single die in a number of things that require at least 2 successes?
I wanted to get at least one die in every category, but I don't feel comfortable choosing actions with success rates of 50% or less.
That left options with more than one success needed to finish.
I chose the two I felt we could wait on.

I'd suggest we use the Force Die on the Asoka option just to make sure it succeeds.
It's something of a waste not to use it on low probability options that are otherwise inefficient to spend dice on. Factoring in Daro Thorn's Diplomacy skill, one regular die should provide a 74% chance of success. 2 dice would be a 93%, but of course that's a die not spent doing something else. I'd probably take it from the Lesson of Echoes if people want to go that route.

I'm also toying with the idea of putting off both lessons and putting the two dice towards A House Divided, to contribute to the war effort more than Ben's plan will alone. What do people think?

54 ABY Council Meeting (Turn 5 Results)
54 ABY Council Meeting (Turn 5)

The Council Chamber is silent as Ben Skywalker enters, flanked on one side by his apprentice and on the other by his pet Sith.

Vestara Khai. Slayer of Natua Wan, betrayer of her every oath. Enemy to your enemy, but far from a friend to the Jedi.

She is of little import compared to the Jedi who she travels with, however.

Ben Skywalker. Talented, powerful, and wise, he eschews the jumpsuits and armor and soldier's uniforms that are so common in the Order, in favor of plain robes of a sandy color. His ascetic aesthetic is broken only by a plain leather breastplate. A Jedi's Jedi, through and through.

"Master Thorn. I apologize for my absence." He bows. "I felt my presence was needed elsewhere."

"All's well which ends well, Master Skywalker. Now then, why have you gone, and what is your request?"

He hooks his hands on his belt, resting with an easy air. "The War in the Corporate Sector is a destructive conflict. Worlds burn, people are slaughtered, and suffering echoes out like a toneless cry into the void." He falls into silence, as no few murmurs sing through the Council chamber. He looks at all of you, his eyes unreadable.

"I propose that a Force of a hundred Jedi be deployed to the war zone. Padawans, Knights, and Masters in equal distribution, to aid in the recovery and in the healing as a long term assignment."

"And... you would lead this task force, then?" Master Ramis has one leg resting on the other, looking at the young knight.

"If the Council would permit it, yes, though I believe the idea has merit no matter who leads it," Ben replied.

"Very well, Master Skywalker. We will consider the matter and allow you to know our final deliberation, once it is reached."

"That is all I request, Masters. Thank you." He bows once more before heading out the same door.

"Much sorrow in that one."

There is silence fallen in the room, a deep, smothering blanket falling over the proceedings.

"Master Solo-Fel." Your voice cuts the blanket. "How goes the training of your Padawan, Keln Kelur?"

Wordlessly, she slots her own holo into one of the arm-rests of your council chairs.

Holographic images play. The Ysanna, a yellow lightsaber in hand, deflects blaster bolts back to their targets. His moves are adequate, but tense, troubled, and his brow ever furrowed. "Every trial I have placed before him he meets without fear. But some part of him is slowed, leashed by the weight of a world on his shoulders. It distracts him, turns him away from his learning. I cannot tell you whether he will be ready to meet this trial, and that frightens me."

Well. You were feeling a little too optimistic.

Martial: Jaina Solo presents a number of options to you, representing a few different ways to patrol the galaxy. For now, there is little improvement you can make. With your entrance into the Corporate Sector War, she has presented a number of places where Jedi help is most necessary.

Campaign-A House Divided: The revolutionary front is currently divided in two, one capital on Deltooine, the other on Kalla. Linking them together is of vital importance, for very obvious reasons-- send Jedi, and make it happen. (60%, 2 Successes)
(Needed: 40, 2 Successes) (Rolled:98, 93)

- The son of Anakin Skywalker had...opinions...on slavery, and on those who employ it.

They are opinions that have passed on to the rest of you.

You fight like men possessed, like vengeful spirits dispatched from the right hand of some vengeful, furious god to fall upon the enemy like death-- and the storm rode with you. Even as you pass along the lesson of Wisdom to your Padawan, four hundred Jedi-- Knights and Masters-- land on the surface of Issagra, running wild through cobblestone city streets, eradicating resistance. Casualties are impossibly few for the work you do, for your Jedi were born of war, and know it, and hate it, and perfect it. And in the end Issagra is broken.

The revolutionary front is linked in the forge of war, temperd in the blood of enemies-- and of Jedi, sacrificing themselves for the cause. They are unlikely to soon forget this deed you have done.

On a different note, you have shattered much of the wealth of the CSA. Linking together the Revolutionaries on Kalla and Deltooine has split the enemy in twain, shattered its spine on the Tertiary Solenbaran. Wealth from Wild Space can no longer be pilfered to feed the war machine-- and the spinward part is now vulnerable to the revolutionary auxiliaries in a way it was not before.

In short, you have done excellent work.

(-10 Jedi Knights, Reward: +3 GA Opinion Entire, war is much nearer to victory)

Diplomacy: The way of the Jedi is to keep peace, and what better way is there to do that than to ensure no war begins?

Ben's Plan: Ben Skywalker wants to lead a force of a hundred Jedi into the Corporate Sector to help the healing process and the recovery. He would, no doubt, lead the detachment. It is the nature of things for Skywalkers to lead. They would be unavailable to you, for a time.

-Did you expect failure? Did you worry in your heart of hearts that Ben Skywalker might fail?

Because he doesn't, not at all. Okay, maybe there's an argument to be made about not telling you being a failure but, eh.

Bygones are bygones.

In any case, he and the hundred Jedi soon set to work attempting to aid a fractured state. Jedi distribute relief, aid, healing, to a beleaguered galaxy. A galaxy which has a great need of soothing, and of aid.

It feels...right. Like this is your task, to bandage up a galaxy that has been so wounded by war in recent decades.
(-34 Padawans, -33 Jedi Knights, -33 Jedi Masters, Reward: +1 Force Dice, Universal opinion increase,???)

What the Hell Ahsoka: What is the meaning of this? To seek to sabotage a war to free slaves? Has she fallen to the Dark Side? Taken all leave of her senses? Meet with this wandering quasi-Jedi, and determine why she would seek to cripple the war.
(Needed: 40 Rolled:33)

- Unfortunately, she refuses to meet with you at all. It seems she still holds something of a grudge towards the Order.
(Failure)

Administration: While there tends to be an air of mystery, suspense and adventure around the Jedi, it does have one commonality with all other large groups-- namely, paperwork.

If You Build It, They Will Come: The recruitment drive you held last year told you one thing: there are plenty of potential Jedi, your net simply isn't catching enough. It would make life easier on everyone if you started building chapter houses where potential recruits could be tested. Not proper academies but just enough to let them, and you, know that they can become Jedi.
Needed: 40, 2 Successes Rolled: 80

- It is not too hard to determine what worlds should hold these chapterhouses, as you call them. You're hoping for, to start, three on each of the main astrographical divisions-- you know, the sort of regions every school of thought has. It takes time though, and you've only started negotiating the acquisition of land-- this is, after all, something of a side-task for you.

Knowledge: It is the way of a Jedi to learn and to teach. To be, in their time, both student and master.

Seek the Jal Shey: An order of diplomats, scholars, and intellectuals, the Jal Shey seek to understand the Force from a more scientific perspective. They seek to sew peace, order, and justice where they travel, and leave the galaxy a better place for their having been in it. Seek to learn more from them and of them.
Needed: 40, 2 Successes Rolled:30

- Bluntly?

The Mentors of the Jal Shey ignore you. It seems they are attempting to negotiate a ceasefire in the CSA, and they are worried being seen having friendly relations with you might taint their perceived neutrality.

How's this for neutrality: 'The coldest bit of Hoth waits for those who can't take a side in a time of great moral conflict.'

Intrigue: It is not the way of the Jedi to slink about in secret, but you may, on occasion, prefer a strategy of some subtlety.

In Shadowed Repose: Some of your Jedi know how to be...subtle. Discreet. Unknown. Deploy them to aid the Evocii in their revolutionary efforts, and in turn, to perhaps avoid a war with Hutts as well as with the bankers.
(Needed: 50, 2 Successes) (Rolled: 1 Force Dice, 37)

- A lightsaber leaves a very distinctive mark compared to most weapons of the galaxy, at least for those who know how to look. All the elegance of a blade, with none of the...raggedness of the durasteel edges; all the burning power of a blaster bolt, with none of the randomness. If Hutts start showing up with heads cleaved off by superheated plasma, people are going to know.

So instead, you use another tool you have a great many of: X-Wings. So many X-Wings. A damn near ubiquitous fighter, it roars through the Hutt skies, dropping payloads of high explosives in Hutt Palaces, cantinas, and Bounty Hunter Guild Halls, all while offering anonymity for the pilots. It's not as much as you'd like, in particular the Guild Halls are often slightly scorched at worst, but it's a good start.

Personal: Insomuch as any Jedi Master can have free time, this represents yours.

A Lesson of Echoes: Your Padawan needs teaching, guidance, lessons, but if she is given them, she will one day surpass even you. You will offer her an important lesson: the lesson of echoes, of consequences, of choices.
(Needed: ???)(Rolled:8+20=28)

- "Tell me. Do you hate the Empire?"

(Continued in Snippet)

A Lesson of Power: Your Padawan needs teaching, guidance, lessons, but if she is given them, she will one day surpass even you. You will offer the lesson of power, of responsibility, of fire.
(Needed:???) (Rolled: 88+20=108)

- "But there are points, yes, where the blow of a hammer can cast down an edifice."

(Continued in Snippet)

A Lesson of Wisdom: Your Padawan needs teaching, guidance, lessons, but if she is given them, she will one day surpass even you. You will give her the lesson of contemplation, of peace, of detachment and its place in the galaxy.
(Needed:???) (Rolled: 89+20=109)

- "So mind your power, and know its place-- and wield it when it is needed, no more...no less."

(Continued In Snippet)
--
-So I lied, I guess. It's up tonight after all.

Also, like, with Seeking Companionship, it'll be, you know, a sort of meet-cute thing. Not, like, you know, hitting up Space!Tinder.

Oh well, turn went well, plus we 100+ on all 3 lessons so thats good.

Three Lessons Offered
Three Lessons Offered

Your X-Wings burn through the void, carrying you to your destination on the dark-black tunnels of hyperspace.

Finally, with a bang you exit back into reality-- to find the little white marble you need.

Ilum. Forge of the Jedi, home of the Adegan crystals which powered the lightsabers of Jedi for generations, it has been reduced in recent years; Sidious was cruel to this world indeed. He ripped its bounty from its beating chest, turning them to his own esoterica.

A burst of static over the comms lets you know that your apprentice has arrived as well. "Padawan. There is a clearing near where we are heading, it should make a fine landing point, sending you the coordinates now."

"Very well, Master."

Your engines burn bright as you descend towards the planet, cutting through the harsh snow storms and whipping winds to land in a valley, nestled by mountains on all sides. Your cockpit opens with a whine as you press your tan cloak hard around you, swathing yourself in its voluminous folds. Sensors indicate temperatures in the negative thirties, snow is falling heavily, and the faint scent of industry fills your nose.

Reminds you of Arkania, honestly.

A moment later, your Padawan lands as well. Her landing struts touch with a light crunch, leaving little marks on the snow choked ground as they do. Her cockpit bursts open as well, and she leaps out, landing with a soft thud. She is wearing a thick brown cloak over a tunic and trousers of black cloth, with black leather boots-- the simplest wear you've seen of her yet. She hides it well, but you can tell from the beginning that the cold bothers her.

"Come, quickly. Where we go will be warmer, I promise."

"Where are we going?"

"It is, or was, a place of the Jedi. I hope it may be again."

The two of you begin to march through the snow, walking towards your destination. From personal experience hiking through the mountains is no great fun, being mostly white plains, briefly, boringly interrupted by bits of black rock-- the greatest threat of Ilum is not the cold, but the boredom. The best antidote available to you now is, as always, conversation.

"Tell me: do you hate the Empire?"

You can hear the rhythmic skrunching of her boots syncopate as she considers for a moment. "I believe any state built on a legacy of genocide, slavery, and rampant militarism should be regarded with the harshest scrutiny possible, no matter how 'honorable' the meatbag on top of the pyramid acts."

"Even when that meatbag is your uncle?" She doesn't answer, preferring instead to walk silently. "Or when that state is the final legacy of Anakin Skywalker?"

"The legacy of Anakin Skywalker is the death of Sidious. Nothing more, nothing less."

"Yes, the twenty three years between the end of the Clone Wars and the destruction of the second Death Star never happened." Your eyebrows arc up hartily-- while you were born long after its peak, every Alien has a story somewhere in their family tree of the Empire comitting some sort of grotesqueness against them. Every one.

"That was Darth Vader, who killed my great grand father, and was in turn slain by his resurrection."

"That was Darth Vader, who, even if I accepted that argument, was midwifed into the world by Anakin Skywalker."

She gives you a cross look, but before your argument can continue, you see what you came here for in the first place:

A vast edifice of stone, carved into the living rock. Flanked by twin boulders, the entrance would be nearly invisible unless looked at from straight on. The two of you stop and stare, cloaks billowing about you.

"There, Padawan. We have found it."

"What is it?"

"A retreat and repository, a compound split from the main temple."

The two of you move silently into it, and the breath leaves your chest.

You knew...you knew there would be damage. Dooku invaded this place near the end of the war, and there was always some more pressing matter to deal with. The Order had no chance to repair it before the Great Purge began. You expected the rocks strewn willy nilly, the carcasses of demolition droids, the scorch marks from blaster fire.

What you did not expect was the machines. Great, hulking industrial mining droids that wordlessly pull out adegan crystals and then grind them to dust-- no use, just to deny something to the Jedi, yet another part of Sidious' long genocide. The Imperial cog is printed on each, in dark red paint, shiny on the matte black steel. As you watch, one rips down a carved relief, older than the Ruusan Reformations, to begin ripping into the crystal vein beneath.

And then you feel it.

Your Padawan's hands clench shut. Her leather gloves creak, as small pebbles begin to float around her, drawn from the ground by her will. Her cloak begins to billow as the power within her lashes against her restraint-- and the lets loose, with a wordless cry. An unseen will grips the droids, begins crushing them, tossing them, destroying them, mindlessly, a thing of pure anger, of hate.

Of fear.

It is a brief storm, whipped up and then dissipated just as quickly.

And then you hear it.

The whistling of a rock through the air, plummeting towards you. It must be nearly as large as an AT-ST, and plummeting at near terminal velocity, you have mere moments to react. With a moment you lash out in the Force, arresting its fall, almost bending your knee, bracing yourself in the power that flows through this place like a river. From here you can see that the slate black rock is studded with lightsaber crystal-- if you weren't about to be crushed by it, you'd consider perhaps quite beautiful.

Distantly, you can feel your Padawan gathering power. You can't...quite...see at the moment, but you imagine there were other rocks that fell, other boulders.

"Master." Her voice is straining, and comes from somewhere underneath you. "I am so sorry. I..."

"Less sorry, more lifting." Sweat falls down your forehead, drenching your robes, plastering the simple fabric to your body. "You can be sorry...or you can get us out of here."

"But how?" Her voice is strained itself-- powerful, yes, and gifted, but you can feel the panic.

"You are a Jedi. You have power. Wield it."

"I just tried that, and it didn't end so well!"

"Well and so, girl! Power is power, and there are consequences, yes, and results-- so find the result you want, damn it! Yes, your power brought this down, and had this result. So now it's time for you to learn a new lesson: that there are points where all power does is blind you to the silence of a knife-- but there are points where the blow of a single hammer can bring down an edifice! Even one as large as this!"

"How?" Her voice is strained, and raw, and you can feel her fear, and she can feel yours, and you realize in this moment that the bond between Master and student has developed, as it should.

You breathe, let the tension fall from your chest. "Close your eyes."

"Okay."

"Listen to the sound of my voice. Reach out, beyond yourself, beyond our bond, beyond all things."

"I..feel, something. Dark, black, cold."

"The rock. You sense the stone. Now seek its cleavage, its cut. Follow it, to the center, the core, the root..."

"I...I think I see it..."

"Now, reach out, and push."

She does.

A moment later, the rock falls apart, becoming a baker's dozen boulders of more manageable size. So much easier, in fact, that you can at least stand up straight.

Breathing once, you release.

A moment later the boulders, all of them, are blown away, sent flying into the vast darkness.

And then you fall over.

Your Padawan races over and places your head on her lap. "Master, I am so sorry."

"Am...I dead?"

"...N-no, Master?"

"Are you dead?"

"No, Master."

Gathering your strength you get back up, letting your cloak fall around your shoulders once more. "Did anyone see us looking stupid just then?"

"No Master."

"Then I see very little to be sorry about."

"Yes Master."

"So, do not be sorry, but learn a lesson: to mind your power, and to wield it when it is necessary. No more, and no less."

"Yes Master."

Silence reigns, except for the bits of stone still shifting after that display.

"Also, you're running laps until I get tired every day for the next month. See if you've still got the energy to be causing a cave-in then."

She sighs deeply. "Yes, Master."

Galactic News (54 ABY)

Battle of Issagra:
Issagra was the wall between the two fronts of the revolutionary movement, and so it was treated with the importance which that merits. The second and Third Fleet, old Rebel Era Surplus used to patrol for pirates, reinforced the first as it provided fierce fire support for the millions of Galactic Alliance Troopers which invaded that world. An urban world, fighting was harsh, heady hand-to-hand, when it wasn't insurgency tactics: improvised explosives, pit traps, sniper fire, guerilla tactics and worse that would make the Battle for Axxila seem a light joke. Footage of CSA TIE Fighters and old Y-Wings having it at flooded the holonet for months as trapped civilians sent out all the information they could.

And then the Jedi came. With their senses they managed to snip the bombs before they went off, deflected blaster fire back at the embedded enemy, sprang traps long before the assailants were ready, and otherwise proved themselves quite an aid. Imperial trained, the soldiers of the CSA, and especially the militia they have been using to supplement their armies, were unprepared for the ferocity of the Jedi. Casualties on the part of the Jedi were light, and leaned more towards wounds than towards death. It it not, generally, a wise position to try and state who would have won if, because there is always some other hypothetical to pull out that sounds good, but it is certainly true that many who may otherwise have died are now alive because the Jedi were there.

Healing The Wounds: It is a terrible thing, this war. Many sentients suffer greatly, displaced, made refugees in the furious furnace of war. Not helping matters is that the Corporate State Authority was a tinpot dictatorship before the revolution. Add the two together, and you will have a pretty potent recipe for a strong civilian crisis. Ben Skywalker, foreseeing this, gathered a hundred Jedi with the Council's permission and set to work helping to repair damage, heal the wounded, and offer what aid they could. Whether it be Padawans volunteering to dig wells to help ease the need for water or the mighty Masters establishing many-person housing on their own through the year, they ease the suffering greatly. It would not, in fact, be unfair to say that in many cases conditions ended up better after the Jedi than they were before the War-- and that is not speaking kindly of the war.

Surprisingly enough, Ben Skywalker disappeared often as well, found by no others as he hid in the Force-- at least, until a clear image of his hand, with a new golden band on the ring finger, was leaked to the holonet. Many suspect it was his unknown companion, the red-headed Force user, whom he has bound himself to, on account of her also often disappearing, "coincidentally" at the same time as Ben did. Young Skywalker has offered no explanation to the Force, and the Jedi Council has told the press nothing of what they know.

Battle of Etti Seven-- BEGIN!: The Capital of the CSA, Etti VII, is open, and so the Galactic Alliance Forces are moving in. Of the five Fleets which the Alliance maintains, four have been deployed to this task-- and the Auxiliary revolutionaries have sent their own, as well, consisting, admittedly, of primarily old Vong Wars ships, intermixed with Rebel Alliance gear. An enormous number of Capital Ships, in numbers not seen since the end of the Clone Wars, have descended on the Etti System. Containing ten planets, each has been sloppily changed into a shipyard fortress, to a greater or lesser extent, constantly vomiting droid ships. What remains of the old ImpStars has gathered here as well, to make one, last, stand for the right of shareholders to make a profit.

Truly, a cause worth dying for.

The battle has been sloppy, and you'd say the Alliance is slightly to somewhat outnumbered, and the fighting has been fierce, but by and large momentum is maintained on the Alliance's side and stolen from the CSA. Quantity has a quality all its own, but the opposite is also true: one Jedi is worth a hundred battledroids, and one Alliance Ace is worth a thousand droid fighters. It is somewhat less facile when the few organic elements of the CSA Navy make their attacks, but even then, fighting favors the Alliance. The CSA pilots are smarter than a droid, which is good in general, but also leaves them capable of questioning their orders.

Destruction In The Hutt Dominion: The Hutts, seeking zealously to hold control of the worlds they infest, have begun a policy of World-Burning to try and drive the fight out of the Evocii resistance. Industrial worlds, inhabited solely by the "Lesser Races" which the Hutts use to build the luxury they choke themselves in, are burned to the ground by the raging thunder of turbofire and proton torpedos. The same thunder falls on the known worlds where the Evocii Resistance meets, seeking to send a message. Your Jedi do what they can to stop the madness, but it is not enough. Billions die, all for the greed of the Hutts.

And indeed, the Evocii, and the Nikto, and the Weequay, now trapped in bondage, do hear a message:

"The Hutts Must Pay."

Recruits from the Nikto and Weequay diaspora are traveling back home to fight for their people, in droves, in legions, taking up blaster, or vibroblade, or starfighter for the task. The many enemies which the Hutts have earned over their long centuries as the worst people in the galaxy are more than happy to oblige-- Bothan Assault Cruisers, mothballed with the end of the First Galactic Civil War, "mysteriously" appear in the hands of the Resistance, old Black Sun and Shadow Collective supply caches are popped open, and you hear reports from your contacts in Hutt space that the species on the other side of the Hutts are giving them grief. Meanwhile, the Chief of State has eneacted a strict Embargo and Quarantine on Hutt Space.

Damn. Open warfare is spreading. This is a bad state for the Galaxy at large. And it puts the Jedi in a precarious position. We especially need to finish off In Shadowed Repose next turn.

Let's think about what else we should do.

(You have 10 Dice Available, 1 Force Die (Single Use Dice guaranteeing one success))

Martial: Jaina Solo presents a number of options to you, representing a few different ways to patrol the galaxy-- for now, there is little improvement you can make. With your entrance into the Corporate Sector War, she has preented a number of places where Jedi help is most necessary.

Actions:
[] Show of Force: The Hutts have also elected a new leader of their Cartel, Kada Dazh Tibure. Little is known of this Hutt, except for raw ambition-- you fear he may seek to take advantage of the Chaos. Dispatch Jedi to dissuade him, by patrolling the Mid-Rim nearby. (40%, 1 success)
[] Aid to the Slaves: A revolt has raged in the Corporate Sector for years, led by slaves and revolutionaries seeking freedom. The government under Daala helped her old Imperial buddies, and promised to arrest any Jedi that did not stay away from the Sector-- plenty went anyway, of course, but then the thing with the Sith and Abeloth happened. This new Chief of State, on the other hand, has already sent support, aid, and ships to the rebels, as well as millions of soldiers, with more, in surety, to follow. You certainly don't mind pummeling slavers. While you helped the war effort in the Star Battles, you could deploy Jedi to the occupation, as well. (50%, 2 successes)
Of the remaining Martial actions, this is my favorite. I am hesitant to commit Jedi directly to any war effort, especially given the known odds. But, assuming a new and better option is not offered, I can get behind this.
[] Work With the Hapans: The Hapes Consortium is a small-- but vital-- part of the Galactic Alliance-- its coffers fund much of the rebuilding efforts from the seemingly endless war which has plagued recent decades-- if that is disrupted, millions, if not billions of beings will suffer, needlessly and painfully. Which makes it somewhat unfortunate that the great treasure ships of the Consortium are under threat by pirates and worse. Send the best Jedi pilots to protect them. (40%, 2 Successes)
[] Campaign-The Twelve Systems: The Galactic Alliance Military is pushing towards Etti IV, the capital of the Corporate Sector, with the hopes that ripping out their beating heart will end the war, decisively and quickly, in your favor. (30%, 4 Successes)
[] Campaign-A House Divided: The revolutionary front is currently divided in two, one capital on Deltooine, the other on Kalla. Linking them together is of vital importance, for very obvious reasons-- send Jedi, and make it happen. (60%, 2 Successes)

Diplomacy: The way of the Jedi is to keep peace-- and what better way is there to do that, than to ensure no war begins?

Actions:
[] Looking for Allies: The Jedi Order is independent in large part because a number of your members either are, or come from families which are, wealthy. But having more resources will allow you to be more independent, and get more done at the same time. (60%, 1 success)
[] Yuuzhan Vong Reconciliation: The Yuuzhan Vong were the enemy. Trillions died at their hands-- your first kill was crushing one under a pillar on Yavin IV. There has been a shallow peace between they and your people since, but it is not true peace-- only a lack of active violence. But perhaps it that can be set right, then the galaxy may be set right. (35%, 5 successes)
[] A New Temple: For the most part, there are too many abandoned Jedi ruins for you to feel comfortable opening new ones when you can just reclaim the old ones. The Frontier Star League, however, is a different case-- being utterly without Jedi beforehand, there are no temples here, nor enclaves, nor anything else. You ought, at least, to build a recruitment center. (60%, 3 Successes)
[] Ben's Plan: Ben Skywalker wants to lead a force of a hundred Jedi into the Corporate Sector, to help the healing process and the recovery. He would, no doubt, lead the detachment-- it is the nature of things for Skywalkers to lead. They would be unavailable to you, for a time. (1 Success, 100%)
[] Chiss Assent: The Chiss Ascendancy is a potent state on the galactic stage. It is also unfathomably cruel to those Force Sensitives born inside its borders. There must be some way to cease the cruelty, the madness, and to bring an end to these crimes against life. (3 Sucesses, 40%)
[] What the Hell Ahsoka: What is the meaning of this? To seek to sabotage a war to free slaves? Has she fallen to the Dark Side? Taken all leave of her senses? Meet with this wandering quasi-Jedi, and determine why she would seek to cripple the war. (1 Success, 60%)
Failed last time. Given Ahsoka's generally pro-intervention position in canon, I am worried her reasons are less about sabotage and more about saving strength for something else. And with open warfare spreading, understanding this is more important now.

Administration: While there tends to be an air of mystery, suspense and adventure around the Jedi, it does have one commonality with all other large groups-- namely, paperwork.

Actions:
[] Lost Worlds: While the Jedi Order greatly centralized following the Ruusan Reformations, and concentrated much of the strength of the Order on Coruscant, things are different now-- for one, they had up to 10,000 Jedi-- you have all of 1,000. They could patrol all of the galaxy, even with that great inefficiency-- you, on the other hand, might be well served by reestablishing the many Enclaves and Praxeums of the Old Order, or establishing your own. (50%, 2 Successes)
[] Check Ups: There is a certain generation, born between the Empire's rise and collapse, which was never thoroughly checked for Force Sensitivity. Finding them now could be useful. (60%, 2 successes)
[] Colonial Investment: Plenty of people are making the journey into the Unknown Reaches, to found new settlements on uncharted, unknown worlds-- and they require resources. Say what you will, but a Jedi is a pretty potent resource. (50%, 1 success)
[] If You Build It, They Will Come: The recruitment drive you held last year told you one thing-- there are plenty of potential Jedi, your net simply isn't catching enough. It would be stupidly easy and make life easier on everyone if you started building chapter houses where potential recruits could be tested, not proper academies but just enough to let them, and you, know that they can become Jedi. (60%, 2 Successes)
1 more success. Let's knock it out.

Knowledge: It is the way of a Jedi to learn and to teach-- to be, in their time, both student and master.

Actions:
[] Witches' Knowledge: You have made friendly contact with the witches of Dathomir, and impressed them. You could ask them to teach at your academies now, to pass on what they know to your people. (50%, 2 Success)
We already want their knowledge. If we have dice to spare we could try again.
[] Weaving Webs: Despite their fearsome appearance, the Lucent are a people of peace and calm-- they could teach the Jedi much, and vice versa. Travel to the Voidfire Nebula, and seek an audience with them. (50%, 1 Success)
Peace and calm will always be beneficial for a Jedi.
[] Bird Brained: The Talortai are, to a man, Force Sensitive-- but they hate this, and few have ever become Jedi or Sith. You imagine there is a story here-- you would like to know it. (40%, 1 Success)
[] Hiding Holocrons (Special from Mystic): Repositories of Sith and Jedi knowledge, there are plenty of Holocrons floating throughout the galaxy-- some in private collections, some in your own archives, and some lost until the Force should will otherwise. Seeking these out should be a top priority. (40%, 3 Successes)
[] Seek the Jal Shey: An order of diplomats, scholars, and intellectuals, the Jal Shey seek to understand the Force from a more-- scientific perspective. They seek to sew peace, order, and justice where they travel, and would leave the galaxy a better place for their having been in it. Seek to learn more from them and of them. (60%, 2 Successes)
Even if the Galaxy could use more pace, order, and justice right now... Narratively it doesn't make sense to try again right away even if the odds of success remain the highest with them. And unlike Ahsoka, they gave a concrete reason not to talk to us.
[] Trailian Contact: Universally Force-Sensitives, the Trailians were introduced to the wider galaxy by Cronal experimenting on them, attempting to turn them into warriors. While the New Republic and Galactic Alliance have attempted to heal those wounds, they are less than interested in interaction with the galactic community. Perhaps the Jedi can help? (50%, 1 Success)
They could possibly use our help. And the action only needs 1 success.

Intrigue: It is not the way of the Jedi to slink about in secret-- but you may, on occasion, prefer a strategy of some subtlety.

Actions:
[] Where Are They?: As surely as do the Jedi, the SIth have their places of power. Korriban, Dromund Kaas, Ziost, -- all places the Sith have longly walked, have marked as their own, like some beast claiming its territory in the jungle. It is where they will go, to hide and to hunt. Find their location, hunt them down, and bring this to an end. Insomuch as you can, anyway. (70%, 3 Successes)
The competing plan last time was right. The Sith have always been, always are, and always will be a ticking time bomb. And they are one that falls firmly under the responsibility of the Jedi.
[] Imperial Angst: You've trusted hutts more than you trust Jagged Fel, Mr. "Military Men making Hard Decision ought to have all the power in the galaxy." Further, even if Master Solo is correct, and you can trust the Emperor, no Empire is built on one man. No doubt there are those in the Empire who would have a return to the 'good old days'-- seek them, so you will be ready for them. (???)
[] The Long Road: The Hutts kidnap many sentients to work as slaves in their hellish domain, under the most contemptible of conditions. While you cannot crusade against the Hutts yet, Jedi agents can help smuggle people to freedom. (1 Success, 40%)
[] In Shadowed Repose: Some of your Jedi know how to be...subtle. Discreet. Unknown. Deploy them to aid the Evocii in their revolutionary efforts, and in turn, to perhaps avoid a war with hutts as well as with the bankers. (2 Successes, 50%)
One success left. And the last thing the Jedi or the GA needs to a two-front war.

Personal: Insomuch as any Jedi Master can have free time, this represents yours.

Actions:
[] Train Your Style: While you are already greatly skilled in Medium Style, you would like to become even more dangerous with it-- push it beyond the average, start innovating the Style beyond the rut it has fallen into since the rediscovery of the classic forms. (50%, 5 successes required)
This would be an interesting way of really leaving a material mark on the future Jedi Order. Definitely a long-term project though.
[] Find a Form: You will ask Master Katarn to begin teaching you in one of the seven classical Forms. (50%, 1 Success required)
[] Seeking Companionship: You could bloviate some nonsense about trying to convince your fellow Jedi to expand your numbers, or to help make yourself less alien to the common people, or maintain emotional stability through connections, but to be honest? This will mostly be you, tossing yourself onto the dating market, because you are lonely. (100%, 1 Success)
[] Seeking Wisdom (Mystic): You thought this might be the case-- but one of your texts, when compared with a text from the Grandmaster's personal library, has revealed a hidden treasure-- what, you could not say. (60%, 3 Successes)
[] Take the Field: They want the Jedi to contribute more to the war effort? Fine. You, and your Padawan, will personally take to the field. It will be good practice for the both of you. (100%, 1 Success)
It could be useful. I am hesitant to dedicate our personal investment to the war effort, but given we are already invested as an organization that could be hypocritical worrying on my part.
[] A Lesson of Echoes: Your Padawan needs teaching, guidance, lessons-- but if she is given them, she will one day surpass even you. You will offer her an important lesson-- the lesson of echoes, of consequences, of choices. (???)
[] A Lesson of Power: Your Padawan needs teaching, guidance, lessons-- but if she is given them, she will one day surpass even you. You will offer the lesson of power, of responsibility, of fire. (???)
[] A Lesson of Wisdom: Your Padawan needs teaching, guidance, lessons-- but if she is given them, she will one day surpass even you. You will give her the lesson of contemplation, of peace, of detachment and its place in the galaxy. (???)

Green and blue add up to 10 necessary successes (excluding the lightsaber style project which assumes just 1/5).

Of course, this could be moot depending on how the options change next turn. It could be flavor text, odds, number of successes needed, or completely new options...

hutts seem to have kicked the honret nest good on them might want to help those rebels out someway.

also the alliance seems to have bit of maybe a bit more then they can chew so they might need some help there.

still not full onboard that the alliance fight is our fight but see the reason for us being there.

Going to add this description to your character sheet, until some art can be found (Or made, that would be super sick):

Daro Thorn
An average height humanoid. Being an Arkanian, his hair is pure white, is slicked back and falls to his shoulders ; as well, his eyes are pupilless. However, he has five fingers, as usual for Near-Human species and unlike many members of his own species. He is in excellent shape, as expected of a Jedi, but his build favors quick dexterity over raw power-- after all, a lightsaber to the throat will kill with a weak cut as much as it will with a strong one.

He has one outfit, worn on the battlefield as much as it is to meet heads of state and when training students. A plain, clean white shirt, hand sewn by the Order crafters on Ossus, using natural linens, which resembles that worn by Luke Skywalker on the Death Store II in shape, particularly at the collar. His trousers are tan, and tucked into the tops of his boots, being themselves a sort of cream color. Over this is first worn a vest of a tan color, which reaches to the ankles; over that and the rest is worn a tabbard of the same color, reaching the instep, and belted by dark leather. This is covered by a plain, off-white Obi. Over all of this is a tan, hooded cloak, clasped with a golden starbird-- a gift from Master Tionne.

Also, update will be up super late today or super early tomorrow.

Coruscant.

Never your favorite world. If one really listens, and centers themselves here, they can feel the deaths of the Jedi Palpatine slaughtered so many years ago. You can hear the wordless shriek they gave, as the clones betrayed and murdered them, as Anakin Skywalker marched and slaughtered the younglings. Your Padawan is poking her head around too, as if she feels the echo.

There is a reason you returned to Ossus, despite its lessened state. The scream of a dying star is much less terrible to hear than the wails of a child, you know that all too well.

But there are lessons only this place can teach.

You could certainly never learn the lessons of attention anywhere else the way you can here.

You sit in a corner cafe, looking at the crowd gathering in the streets before you, gently sipping on a cup of caff. On a stage up above them, a human woman, young, graceful, sits, politely laying out her entire platform.

That it seems to come down to "The Hutts are rich, therefore it is altogether right and proper that they should slaughter their lessers" doesn't quite seem to be sinking in. Ugly words, delivered by a pretty face, given much too much power?

Yes, it's election season alright. Time for the Chief of State to either win or lose. It won't effect you that much either way, the Jedi have managed to endure much more Jedi opposed Administrations than anything these pitiful parties can pull out, but intellectually you are interested.

But someone else cares much more.

You can feel your Padawan's tension, her fury, shifting, changing, even thrashing inside her. It's a snarling world-snake, constantly eating at the root of her self-control, her inner calm, her peace, and wrapped tightly around her heart, as well. To kill it will require effort, but you must, or it will kill her; and that, you cannot allow. It's one of the things keeping you from taking the field yourself: your apprentice's state is fragile as is; better not to risk it.

For that matter, you aren't exactly walking death yourself. Your grasp of arcane lore may, indeed, allow you to unleash terrible things on the foe, but what is material victory if you lose yourself in the winning?

"Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing?" Nonsense.

In any case, Odessus has an easy victory looming overhead, with victory over the CSA drawing nearer everyday. Assuming he doesn't manage to bungle this, anyway.

(You have 10 Dice Available, 1 Force Die (Single Use Dice guaranteeing one success))

Martial: Jaina Solo presents a number of options to you, representing a few different ways to patrol the galaxy. For now, there is little improvement you can make. With your entrance into the Corporate Sector War, she has presented a number of places where Jedi help is most necessary.

(50%, 3 Successes)
[] Passing On Knowledge: Ensuring that the lessons you learned in the Issagra campaign are not forgotten will be important, for all your sakes. Record it, one way or another, so that it might be shared with all.

[] Chiss Assent: The Chiss Ascendancy is a potent state on the galactic stage. It is also unfathomably cruel to those Force Sensitives born inside its borders. There must be some way to cease the cruelty, the madness, and to bring an end to these crimes against life. (3 Successes, 40%)
[] Jedi Negotiators: The Galactic Alliance, newly poised with the ascendance of the Frontier Star League as a member state, now plans to begin exploring further into the unknown regions. They have requested you dispatch Jedi to act as negotiators, in the hopes of keeping the peace should they meet natives. (2 Successes, 80%)

While the New Republic and Galactic Alliance have attempted to heal those wounds, they are less than interested in interaction with the galactic community. Perhaps the Jedi can help? (50%, 1 Success)
[] Reclaim Ilum: Arsenal of the Jedi, it is where you once built lightsabers, long ago. But now it is lost to you, and you would reclaim what has been taken. It will take time, but it should not be difficult-- only tedious. (100%, 6 Successes)

Intrigue: It is not the way of the Jedi to slink about in secret-- but you may, on occasion, prefer a strategy of some subtlety.

Actions:
[] Where Are They?: As surely as do the Jedi, the SIth have their places of power. [] Seeking Companionship: You are a Jedi; you have had no time for love, and it holds no sway over you. Surely. You are fine returning to an empty bed each day, growing older, with few friends, none in your odd age group. (100%, 1 Success)
[] Seeking Wisdom (Mystic): You thought this might be the case-- but one of your texts, when compared with a text from the Grandmaster's personal library, has revealed a hidden treasure-- what, you could not say. (60%, 3 Successes)
