Actually...
We aren't that Shadow. The Shadow in Sonic Battle is the one from Sonic Heroes: a robot duplicate of us, the real Shadow who, canonically, dies (or at least loses his memory to show up in Shadow the Hedgehog or something, but that game is confusing as all heck), and in the context of this quest has 'merely' been thrown into another world.

Wouldn't really feel like a Shadow Quest if it was just one long curbstomp, I'll agree. Shadow is very powerful, sure, but he uses that power to face other very powerful things, not annihilate mooks, principally.
*Looks to the level designs of every Sonic game he's been in and his own game* ... Right. You sure about that?
Also, I remember having some fun with a couple of level from that Airboard racing spin-off? Make one of those just to fuck around?
