A Crime She Couldn't Accept [Exalted]

As Candesce noted, yes. They're basically all divergences for the same character.

Offer and Sin branch off two years after the canonical end of the war, where Offer has her captured by slavers and Exalting as an Infernal, and Sin has her not Exalting yet (it's a bit of an AU, she's due to Exalt as a Sidereal in Sin, but it hasn't happened yet).

In this case, it's back when she's 17 instead of 19, where in the assault on Fallen Lapis, she decided to frag her dragon-blooded commander, and Exalted as a Lunar in doing so. At present we're a weekish after that, with the Pretannic armies returning to their home clans to take stock of the present situation and make decisions on how to proceed - the Battle of Fallen Lapis disrupted the war's progress, so the Tepet haven't started to withdraw yet and all major combatants are still in the game, but who is on what side of what conflict isn't quite sorted yet.

@Aleph and @EarthScorpion got my mind running when they mentioned their own alternate timelines for Keris, and I started thinking about them and actually writing them.

Make us a good diplomance Lunar. Not only are we able to change our own minds, we can change the minds of our allies and even former enemies.

Yeah, it's enough of a pain having to fight the Realm and the Bull of the North. We don't need to make it worse by having to squabble with Praetonnian factions that resent Talinin (possibly for excellent reasons but still).

To be clear, there will be complications in dealing with factions with former hostilities either way - this is just the first rank in a style, so Aindriu having it won't make the problem go away, nor will it not being there mean the problem is completely unmanageable. It will make her better at that particular task, though. Each one is pretty useful to have with the situations she's going to be getting into.

With that said, those who are losing a chargen vote needn't fear too much. Xp can still be used to purchase these things, so you can get another crack at the vote every time I put up an xp vote, or fund it solo via omake and thread contributions.

It's a bit awkward while she's on your back, but cat. It's important.
The exact moment when I decided that Aindriu was relatable.

Also: Interesting that the actual text of the update largely focuses on who these characters are, leaving things like what happened and what our goals are to be introduced in the text of the votes.
Birdsong Princess Style (Master): Contrary to the lessons of Dungeons and Dragons, druids are not responsible for dealing with animals and the natural world. Aindriu is good with animals, very much so, but that is completely unrelated to her actual druidic heritage and has more to do her father's work as a physician and riding enthusiast, and her maternal family's complete inability to resist cooing over cute animals and insatiable desire to pat soft fur/feathers leading to the determined exploration of the skills involved in getting to do.
Pfft. Alright, I like this. "I want to pet the cute things!" "But they're dangerous though." "But I want to pet theeeem!"

Wait.

Aspect: Solar

Violet Wallflower Style (Practitioner): While being socially awkward and tending towards long periods of complete silence aren't exactly the strongest social combination, social invisibility can be very, very convenient at times. Aindriu has had her own parents forget her presence before.
Aspect: Air

Read Between the Lines Style (Expert): Bearer of an inveterate curiousity, Aindriu has always wanted to know what's going on since toddlerhood, forever loathe to go to sleep and miss out on what people are doing. Being also terminally shy and preferring not to bother people with an unending storm of 'why', she became very good at figuring out from very limited clues, with a mind capable of organizing and juggling very large quantities of information while keeping a firm organization between 'confirmed', 'attested', and 'speculated', and developing theories to chain those pieces of information together.

The obvious choice. They'll know more than random people, and family will almost certainly be important characters, especially in a celtic-inspired slice of the setting, with the attendant clans.

[X] Enlighten Birdsong Princess Style. The animals didn't survive the horrible song that killed Fallen Lapis any better than the people did. But there were some that, for whatever reason, couldn't hear it. And cavalry poured in to attack the survivors, when the song had ended. And Aindriu, always good with animals, got better, turning mounts against their masters, encouraging sicklebirds to do what should have been impossible, and recruiting deaf alley cats and sicklehounds whose ears had been covered into the absurd army that avenged their home and their humans.
[X] Learn Shining Icon Style. Aindriu Exalted. She decided things had gone too far, and she stood up for what everyone's conscience was saying - that this was not acceptable, this way of waging war was abhorrent, and the great powers of Creation that had brought these ways to Pretannia weren't wanted. When someone dives down the path you desired with such force, it's natural to fall into their wake. And having been entrusted with leadership, Aindriu started to learn how to wield it - how to keep people going, how to bring out their best.
- - - Shining Icon Style (Solar): Someone always has to stand at the front. To lead the way, set an example, and prove to everyone that following their path was the right choice. Those who practice this style are good at this sort of leadership - they encourage their subordinates, earn the loyalty of those who follow them, and understand how to best use them.

Let's disney princess our way to an army of monstrous predators cutiepie good boys!

The exact moment when I decided that Aindriu was relatable.

Aindriu knows where her priorities lie. She doesn't even do it consciously, Ealu will crawl into her lap while she's completely absorbed in something and Aindriu will settle her in on pure instinct, stroke her appropriately, and maybe notice an hour or two later that she's not really sure when the cat arrived.

The OP is mainly focusing on mood and the like for now. The actual details are complicated enough they need more space to breathe properly.

Pfft. Alright, I like this. "I want to pet the cute things!" "But they're dangerous though." "But I want to pet theeeem!"

Aindriu has the sense not to pet tigers that haven't properly gotten used to her.

But she wants to do it.

And she totally cuddles horse-sized raptors, which are fortunately rather more social than tigers. Normally they're a bit harder to get along with if you're not part of Their Pack, but Aindriu just sort of bypasses that entirely through sheer power of 'wanna pat the feathers' and can get along well even with sicklebirds that haven't met her before.

Wait.

Yes, she is. She is an awkward nerd specced towards mental stats and with her social skills almost entirely directed towards avoiding attention and dealing with cute animals. (Cuteness may vary depending on animal mood. Her definition of cuteness includes almost every apex predator she's ever seen or heard of in enough detail. With Exaltation under her belt she can and will give scritchies to a tyrannosaur)

Makes sense to me.

For a second I thought you meant cute human boys, which isn't... entirely wrong either...

All right, and vote closed.

[2] Go into the city and ask around. The people of Dramasine may not know every detail of what's happening in Dramasine, but they should at least know who purports to be in charge.

No surprises here.

A pretty solid outcome, though those who want to strengthen her Disney Princess powers still have the vector of xp.

Almost a three-way tie, @Imrix you picked a good time to cast your vote.
