Will the candidate statements be made here, in another thread, or sent to a staff member and all revealed at once?
Also, candidate statements will be released after the staff sort out the who's gonna be on the ballot. After August 16th, I believe.
That way, voters can see the statements to help them vote for their preferred candidates! Also, statements are in a conversation, so they can't be edited after a short period of time, cementing any poor usage of words forever to the annals of history.

They're coming to me in a PM so I can sort out who'll ultimately be on the ballot. Right now I have 19 statements from 47 potential candidates, and one of the 47 has explicitly declined. So we'll see how it shakes out!

I'm working on mine still, you gave a pretty long dead line. :V
More time to write
More time to fight
More time to perform miracles to sell at a price :V

The people will love you, no matter what you write, I promise! (Note: I actually can't promise that)

Campaigns Have Begun!
campaigns have begun!
Good evening, all!

The nominations are in, the statements have been made and tallied, and we have our thirty-six candidates to go on to the final ballot. You can see those nominees and discuss them, and their platforms, here.

Right now, though, I'd like to let you know how things are going to go.

The first thing you should know is that the actual electoral ballot opens Sunday, August 25, and will be open until Saturday, August 31. You will have that entire period to vote for as many candidates as you would like to see on the Council (approval voting).

The second thing you should know is that my goal is to run another Q&A session with as many of the candidates who would like to participate on Saturday, August 24. That will hopefully give you a good opportunity to interact with them more casually and to chat with staff, council, and your fellow political junkies about how the elections are going!

In the meantime, I'm going to be handing out temporary banners for the candidates. Good luck!

Yeah, I like the banner, it's really nice.

....Wait a second, didn't I suggest basically this in the discord and receive friendly mockery? :thonk:

Hah, I did! Kneel before me, fools and @Broken Base, my triumph is eternal! :V

The banner has a better color than the councilors', in my opinion. The Councilor banner should be Navy Blue, or Prussian Blue!

I agree, it's a more friendly shade of blue (I think it's "robin blue"?) and should be the councillor colour.

Commission artists should have a black-and-white theme (black text on white background), representing ink and paper.

This would contrast sharply with other colour themes, marking the difference with administration banners.

So tomorrow is the Q&A? What duration? On the Discord, right?

Oh well, the votes have been already decided anyways :V

Have you made up your mind about who you'll vote for? Is there something you still want to know about the candidates? Are you looking for more information?

Join us on Discord to chat with the candidates!

Hopefully, my plan is to keep this window open for about six hours, beginning in 11 minutes - or 4pm EST through 10pm EST. We'll see who's there!
